Does anybody know where I can actually test the T500RS in action here in Japan. I've been to Akihabara and the only place I found the wheel on display-only was in Yodabashi. It was nice to actually sit in it and feel the wheel and pedals, but they didn't have it setup for play. It was on display with the Playseat GT which is a bad idea because the amount of wobble the wheel had was too much to actually appreciate the wheel quality itself. The pedal angle is great though, not steep at all. Anyways, please let me know if anyone knows where I can find a T500rs for testing in Japan. Thank you all.... Arigato Gozaimasu!!!

Konnichiwa!

It is strange to see that Akihabara doesn't have one on display. If anywhere then you would think it was there. Unfortunately I am not Japanese so I can't help you.
Although I wish I was Japanese, since I am just as tall. Although with my natural blond hair I would stick out as a sore thumb and maybe be thought of as a delinquent like in manga. lol

Anyhow, I don't know where you can try it but maybe you can describe what you expect of the wheel and probably ask a few questions. That way maybe I and others can help you a bit to get an idea of how the wheel feels and such.

Maybe there are fellow countrymen lurking here that might be able to guide you? Although a lot of people here are American or European I think (at least as far as I have noticed).

Thanks for the reply LogiForce! Yeah unfortunately Akihabara being the Electric Town didn't have one really surprises me. I might look around the huge city this weekend again to see if I missed anything.

Well as some owners mention, the famous "lightyears" from a Logitech or Fanatec wheel has got me curious. When T500RS owners mention this, I wonder what they really mean. I think I watched simracingtonight's review of the t500 like 24 times already and I'm dying to try it for myself.

In regards to expectations, I have none really, just worth the cost. And when I say worth cost, I mean in terms of usability and not just material quality which I know seems very high quality. I have the Playseat Evo Alcantara which seems to work well from the pictures and comments I saw earlier in this thread, so I know hard-mounting is not going to be an issue. I really feel it's a "must experience for yourself" to see if it's right for me. I even watched all the videos I can on youtube with people testing it and also side-by-side with the G27, which I currently own. I just really want to feel how precise owners claim it to be. Simracing says it brings the GT5 experience to a whole new level and I just want to feel how it does that. Thank you again!

I really hope you find one because it is everything you've said. It just changes it from a game to a real simulator. Paired with the TH8 shifter raises the bar a bit more too. Good luck on your quest. :)

I really hope it is. One day " I will" have one. lol

Question though... Do you know if the TH8RS shifter will hard mount on the playseat shifter mount with no issues? My G27 shifter is bolted with 2 screws, do you know if it has the same thread and location?

Not the same. The TH8 has three holes in a 4cm triangle configuration. They are much closer together. The thread is m6 12mm length max.
Not sure about your shifter mount but the clamp on the TH8 is better than hard mounting it any way so as long as the mounts not 10cm thick the clamp will serve it's purpose for you.
I have mine attached only with the clamp and it's solid even when I get a bit over zealous with my shifts.

Thanks man! You can see what i'm working with in the TH8RS thread. I thought I'd move my question there to better stick with the topic đź‘Ť

Tested yesterday night "NFS The Run" (PS3 + PC Version) with T500 RS.
Wheel is compatible, Plug & Play and ForceFeedback on both platforms.

PS3 Version: Wheel is set by default at 1080° and perfectly playable. But ForceFeedback is weaker than on GT5, Dirt3, Nascar 2011, F1 2011.

PC Version: Wheel is also Plug & Play with perfect result at 1080°. In addition on this version ForceFeedback is really great with lot of fun.
= For T500 RS, I recommend PC version

Yeah i was shocked to see The Run was compatible. During controller config i noticed a Shift Up and Shift down icon appear. It looked like it could be TH8RS sequential shifter compatible. I have had one on order from amazon.com for a while now but still no shipment.

Hey all, I just received the T500RS today in the post, i bought it from Amazon UK and it's the Version 5. All seems perfect with it but i have 1 question (i've searched but to no avail).....are there any issues i should be aware of with the V5? i.e. is there a place i can check for fixes completed for this version?

Thanks.

New pedals on the way. I had talked with the lady from tech support. Pleaded with her about how I really just want my stuff to work so I can enjoy my hobby. Explained it was stressful and I know it's stressful on her. If she could please take some time and help me resolve the issue so I can get the shifter ordered and have working pedals. She actually softened up and was quite the sweet heart to deal with.

So note when calling them. Try and understand that these people get harassed, lied too, yelled at, stressed from unruly customers. When they seem to be stern or come across uncooperative it's for the fact they are trying to resolve the issue with out just giving stuff away. I also told her if it was needed I would charge items till I returned the broken to ensure they wasn't going to lose out.

Anyway. Happy days. Be nice and good things will happen.

They are French/Canadian. That is all they know, very professional and very easy going.
I have dealt with TM/Hercules a few times via email and phone. Straight to the point and very good results. A+ customer service.

You´re a lucky man: Thrustmaster is going to replace your pedals, although they have been disassembled and manipulated by you, but refuse to change my paddle kit... ¬_¬

The Thrustmaster customize service is incredible.

Did you not say "S'il vous plait"? I did, no lie.

Is there a definitive game list that both the T500 and TH8 shifter work with on PS3?
Even Thrustmaster don't know, all they keep saying is only GT5!

The T500 works with the downloadable Daytona USA but doesn't support the shifter! wtf they could've added shifter support if they were supporting the T500..would make the game another 100% better
It so damn annoying not knowing which game will support this set together, and which will only support the wheel.

How long have you waited to get an answer from thrustmasters support?
Just asking to know how fast I can expect an answer from them.
I wrote to them today about the fan and the notch problem I have on my wheel.

Good to hear you got your pedals sorted, I agree with acting with kindness. So far both my T500's have worked flawlessly. I also have a Fanatec GT2 wheel and Club sport pedals. I noticed Fanatec was giving away free tuning kits for the CSP's, this was nearly a year after my purchase, so I wrote to Fanatec and asked if I could get a free tuning kit ($49.99) they said no.

I wrote back and applied some more charm to Claudia at Fanatec, she replied that she will send them out asap. I already got them and as you say being polite and throwing in a complement always makes a person feel good.

Hi BNGTracer, did you get yours from Pagnian? if so what version is your T500 please?

It's a V1 and I now am getting it replaced under warranty due the the flash memory in the PCB malfunctioning. Pagnian are the distributor but for all warranty issues you have to deal with Home Entertainment Suppliers in Sydney.

Guys... I think my wheel has a problem. Just now it starter off centered after calibration. I tried to reconnect the usb, the power, nothing worked.
I remember this was discussed before but i couldnt find it.

I hope there no need to reinstall the firmware.
