Please don't comment on Project CARS as it's still in alpha stage. A huge job has been done by the devs to make the game better and better. You will be able to judge in time when it will be released.

arcadish? your kidding! even GT5 is not and pCARS is far far ahead in terms of realism.
Arcade should be banned from this kind of forum. NFS; Driver... are arcade racing games.
Note that i don't have to deny a game to support another.

I agree,Pcars is still a beta project, while iracing is final,i have them both and for personal opinion i prefer Pcars...

If your prefrence is graphics and not physics. If your prefrence is physics at this point in pcars development there is no comparison.

To be honest in graphics its just insane and i think it can get better, physics are good but still to early to tell,i play iracing,GTR evo,Rfactor 1 and 2 and simracingway and i find some rfactor 1 mods amazing in physics so :)

I am having trouble with my t500RS in Simraceway. I have done a search and can't find anything about how to set it properly in the game. Right now with force feedback on when I turn the wheel left it pulls itself immediately to left lock and then if I pass center to the right it pulls itself immediately to right lock.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

Mine works ok,did u disconected from power and check calibration in windows? also u using latest firmware?

Yes I have the latest firmware and have tried unplugging it. What settings do you have it on? I experience the problem when I have the first box set to wheel and the second box on something other than off.

However, when I have the first box on None I can have the second box on any setting and the wheel will feel heavy to turn but I don't have feedback from bumps and such.

So, the WSP arrived TWO days after ordering. That is FAST.
I'm pretty short (175 cm), this coupled with the fact that I use an armchair that has quite a low profile there is almost no wiggle (since the "post" is quite far down in the tube).
I got this with the 99 euro deal and I have to say, I think it's it definitely worth the money. Now, is this the best product out there? I don't know, haven't tried any other.
Does it fullfill it's purpose? Definitely.

The only thing I think is the problem is the fact that in the instructional video they have removed the the black rectangular construction from the pedals. I didn't manage to do this because I don't have the correct tools and this makes it's MUCH harder to get the pedals in place on the stand if you are doing it alone.e oth

But all in all (after using it for around 10 hours) it's a good product for the T500RS.

Have anyone used this with T500RS AND the shifter?
To me it seems a bit awkward and I'm hesitant because it feels like it's just a little too far away.

I figured out the problem with My t500rs and pc sims, for some reason I have to set force feedback to a negative value to feel resistance as I turn left and right, otherwise I will feel resistance as I turn towards the center.

Hope this info helps someone.

I use WSP with T500 and TH8 and I feel comfortable with this setup. It feels solid for me. The pedal section stops at the wall under the desk, so it can not slip away.

iRacing is constantly updated- both its physics and graphics (not to mention the addition of tracks and cars). While the term final is appropriate, it's still an evolving product albeit with more reliability.

PC racing is incredible, if I was to start over I would make the jump straight to iRacing. The Sim Bin titles are fun and pCARS looks good in a arcadish way. Some people don't like iRacings business model, like paying monthly, quarterly or yearly. I look for the deals, regular $99 US per year but "Black Friday" they offer it for $49. You can top up your account as much as you prefer. I have about 18 months worth ATM.

As far as PC's go I think you are on the right track by acknowledging the price. Some people don't have the foresight and go out and spend a couple grand on a store bought PC and then find out down the road they can't upgrade there PC.

There is good advice found at the iRacing forum, my biggest advice is go for triple screens right from the start and get a custom built PC, either build it yourself or get a reputable shop to build one for you. Most folks find this out after they have been at iRacing for a while. I think this is the best upgrade one can do to improve their racecraft.

+1. This is sage advice. I wish I had built my own PC sooner. I did last year, but I wasted a lot of $$$ and time buying pre-built. I also wish I had gone triple screens sooner, I did not realize how much I was missing.

A question, does the new Fanatec wheels crush the T500?

I have a T500RS and a Fanatec CSR Elite. They are both comparable, there are certain things I like about the T500 more than the Elite, for example, the rim. On the other hand, the button placement on the Elite rim is better and more conducive to mid-race presses.

Well, it's still on the website.

If you look at benchmark measurements, the answer is a resounding "Yes" but then again a G25/G27 compares quite favorably against the CSR-E/CSW and in some cases beat the T500RS (and even the CSW when that wheel is equipped with the heavier BMW GT rim).

I'm sure some of those (measurements) are carried over into real world application- how FF ultimately feels in your hands/brain but at the same time I'm sure there are intangible characteristics that aren't quite measurable until you can actually feel them.

I had a g25,then changed to g27 and T500rs is just another level, has for fanatecs, maybe CSR is good but the GT porsche are crap...

CSR Elite has a professional base wheel with a toy Porsche Wheel style rim.

As stated above, I have both the CSR Elite and the T500RS wheels. Although I do prefer the T500RS rim, I would not call the CSR Elite wheel a "toy." Rather, its good, particularly the Alcantara grips at 9 and 3 o'clock and button placement, but it does not feel as sturdy at the all-metal T500RS rim. Both rims have their pros and cons.

Hello Guys.
This is my first post in this thread as I'm looking for a bit of help. First of all, I have a T500 and I'm getting the TH8 later this month.
Well, as of recently I have noticed that the brake pedal has been squeaking when pressed. It may not sound that much, but really it's annoying. The pedals are in F1 set up and have always been. I have tried tightening and loosening the pedal plate but with no difference. I thought about spraying some WD40 in the joint but not sure wither that would damage it.
If any of you could help that would be great!
Cheers!

A good bike chain synthetic lubricant works fine. Personally, I'm using Finish Line Wet Lubricant which has stopped the T500RS pedal(s) from squeaking.

I just ordered a refurbished T500RS online for £269.99. I hope I did the right thing. I wonder if thrustmaster honour warranty for a used wheel, I suppose I could sell it on for profit.

Regarding lubricant. My ford focus gear shift was making a grinding squeaking sound, so I picked up a bottle of cleaner/lube spray from tesco, it was in the car section right next to the wd40, infact the bottle was exactly the same and had the same straw taped to the side. It took a second to lift up the leather sock and a couple of sprays on the ball joint at the base of the stick did the trick.
