Hello guys, new T500 F1 wheel owner here.

I have recently purchased this wheel and I have noticed that the mechanism of the brake pedal does a "click" sound when releasing the brake.

I do NOT mean the sound that the pedal does when it touches the encasing after you release it. It is a Click sound that is heard in the MIDDLE of the pedal travel as I release it. Anyone else has encountered this and possibly a fix?? :/

Version is V.5

I just uploaded a video so you can get a better understanding

If it is recently purchased than make a warranty claim or email Thrustmaster with the video. Tinkering on your T500 without instructions of Thrustmaster will void your warranty.
I can only say that it is not something I have or have had with my T500, so it is not normal.

Sounds like the spring is being moved from its housing once a certain pressure is applied. Do pedals even have warranty seals? I bet you could open them and find the problem easily.

Sounds quite similar to what I had back when I got mine (only mine wasn't as bad):

I would personally wait about a week with daily use, to see if it goes away, as mine did (almost) and then get in touch with Thrustmaster.

I am curious if the Ferrari rim will come to the T500 as well? The hub and its connector seem the same, so technically I reckon it would be compatible.

I send to Thrustmaster support an e-mail and the guided me to open the pedals and
I think I found the culprit.

The protection material, black textured "rubber like" material, that is between the brake pedal and the spring is worn out, so the contact is making a click sound everytime i depress the brake. Seems like the edge of the spring is rough and "ate" through it. Mind you that I use have used this wheel for no more than 2 weeks so it should not be a matter of wearing out the product.

Also I found that the cable was squeezed in a very narrow point between the aluminum coloured and the black coloured encasings. I removed it from there to prevent further damage and I hope it won't pose any problems in the future. I provided pictures for that as well.

That rim is modded pretty heavily, though. So people hoping that you could easily put the 458/GT/F1 rim onto the TX base won't be able to unless they do physical modifications.

The thing I took from that video is this: they have the TX model in for testing (since they ripped the rim from it). So that'll be cool to get a review when the NDA lifts.

Also, Assetto Corsa is awesome. If you don't mind its reduced state right now, it's well worth the money. Loving it.

Paul, this is not a TX. If you look at the Google+ link it, the pictures should explain it. It's an XBox 360 wheel modded to work with the T500.

Hi Guys, I am hoping someone could help me. I have had a t500rs for 3days now and there is a clicking sound when I turn the wheel either right or left. The clicking sound is louder when I turn the wheel to the right. Other than that the wheel is working 100% just want to know if this is something I need to worry about or not.
Thanks.

I've been using the manual H shifter th8rs and clutch pedal for the first time on assetto corsa and the clutch is really light, there is no bite to it or firmness. Is there any way to make it feel like I'm releasing/pressing a clutch? I have the basherboards skateboard bushings in my brake pedal and they work great, but would be too hard for a clutch pedal.

Also I've been trying to contact owens racing for ages for the big brake pedal and he hasn't replied, has he a website or is there an alternative pedal maker in the community?

cheers

Hello.Ill ask. I have a T500RS V2 whith torsion spring in the pedals. Is it easy to switch to kompression spring in the pedals. If so where can i buy them.? Thanks.

I read on another thread about a guy whose torsion spring broke and thrustrmaster sent him a new one.

When he asked your question they answered negatively.

Try to search on google a bit, you should find it ;)

I have problem with my gas pedal - it`s spiking (?). Great time, just before GT6 launch.
I use it only with GT5 and from time to time (especially after long use) I can see little red gas input bar on the incar HUD when not pressing the pedal at all. But when I unplugged USB from PS3 and plugged in to my PC right away to see it with PC T500RS software - I can`t see any input, zero, null.
So on PS3 and GT5 it`s definitely spiking but I can`t see this on PC. How`s that possible? Because of non calibrated within the game when checking at PC? Or maybe some cars at GT5 behave like that and pedal is fine?

Do you have pets? If so, take a vacuum to your pedals, especially the "tubes" that the pedals themselves sit in (turn them upside-down to get all around the entire assembly with the vacuum) -- the pots are mounted in small enclosed black plastic boxes on the T500 pedals, but it's still possible for small stuff (like pet hair) to intrude and potentially short out the pot, making it seem "noisy" or "spiky."

Same applies for the small circuit board mounted behind the brake pedal, where the cable that connects the pedals to the wheel base is connected.

Any Takers? :)

Guys I have a quite annoying problem with my wheel; it's squeaking. Does anyone have any tips to "cure" it? I've been thinking of putting some regular "bike-gear-grease" on it, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea.

Progress is kind of stalled on that effort -- I've not been able to come up with the right "feel," and I've not been able to arrive at what I consider to be a usable mounting scheme for what I have in mind.

The idea's not completely dead, but it's definitely on the back burner for the moment.

Darn, that sucks. I guess the only other way is have other better pedals interface with the T500 natively.
The problem is that I only consider pedals that are better, other than clubsports, to be pedals that are sold in the 500+ euro range. Which is mostly due to the fact that you won't find decent clutch feel modeling in lower end pedals generally speaking. So you end up with something like Niels Heusinkveld's pedals or those of HPP Simulation.
