Definitely working on it -- I have 5 or 6 on my workbench waiting for final assembly now, but beyond that I've run into some supplier issues. Essentially, the load cell amp that I'm using is currently unavailable, so once this current batch is done, I'm dead in the water from a production standpoint, so that's dampened my own enthusiasm somewhat.

:(

On the plus side, I have been working on some ideas for an integrated load cell amp that would replace my current interface circuitry and load cell amp with an all-in-one solution. I'm collaborating with someone else on a solution at the moment, and I hope that we'll make some progress towards achieving a production-ready replacement within the next couple of weeks. Once that happens, then hopefully I can step up production significantly, as this supply issue with the load cell amp I use has been plaguing me for the last 9 months or so (and also delaying production as well).

Fingers crossed, hoping for some good news!

Thanx for a prompt response.. Is there a chance of pre-ordering one of those 5 or 6 from your workbench.. :)

Hoping to find a set of T500 RS pedals... I think some iracing guys use the base with alternate pedals so maybe it's possible, but nothing out there on ebay.

I have two T500 RS units. Both sets of my pedals are bad (both have multiple pedals with issues where they flicker on when not being pressed) and both bases are perfectly fine (except for one very noisy fan), but both out of warranty. 👎

I guess if I can't find any pedals I may just sell both bases and look for something not made by Thrustmaster. :sly:

Hey Tim I know i'm a bit late but I have seen people use the fanatec clubsport v2 pedals with the t500 on pc. Don't know if it would work through the wheel itself though, so it would work with GT5.

Thanks, but as far as I know that doesn't work with the PS3 unfortunately. I don't race on the PC and have no plans or desire to start [as long as the WRS is on GT/PS3]. My brake issues went away after installing the basher brake mod (not sure why) so for now I'm OK. Still wouldn't mind finding a used set of pedals just to have a spare, but I'm in no rush... I'll just keep my eyes open.

I'm about to buy a T500, coming from a G27. The only thing that bothers me is the fan noise.

Is the T500 much noisier than a G27?

If I replace the fan, would I have a silent wheel?

Cheers

You'll hear the noise when the fan kicks in on the T500RS but compared to gear-drive on the G27, the T500RS is much quieter (thanks to the belt drive system which also dampens the noise).

You also have the option of changing to quieter fan although I don't think it's necessary. It doesn't bother me since use headphones and even in our 1 bedroom apartment, the fan noise doesn't bother my spouse or our dog late at night. With the G25/G27, the noise was considerably more annoying especially if you set it to higher FFB.

The stock fan is of bad quality though so sooner or later you probably have to replace it. I feel more confident now that I got the replacement fan that I will have sufficient cooling without having to add extra fans. It also helped noise levels to no end.

After getting my 50" monitor my 320 mm rim start to feel small. Does anybody hear run 350 mm rims or even wider. I sure feel that in many cars I do gain more precision with my 320 mm rim vs 270 mm G27 and the 270 mm F1 rim. 370 mm maybe is going way overboard but maybe just adaptation. It sure took a while for me to adjust to my 320 mm despite running such sizes or more with my real cars. But that seem to be one thing and simracing another :)

Except you loose your fixed shifter paddles. So there goes the flexibility when it comes to shifting options. :ouch:

Yeah guess your limited to the GTE and F1 wheels...But if your happy with those options it will be a great add on. To bad it's not something that can be used with console. Someday I'll migrate to the PC I guess.

Got some new T500 bling coming your way -- this is the first of three new designs that I'll be making available on the Bodin Solutions site within the next couple of days:

I think this design is appropriately evil-looking, given that Halloween is just around the corner!

damn, I should've ask for that with the "recent shipment" John, why didn't I thought of asking lol. always wanted a Vette and Jake Badge. Looks awesome btw

Thought I would share some pedal faces I got for my T500 pedals that I hope to use with the TX wheel I have pre ordered...

Here's the item on Amazon:

And how they look on the T500 pedals:

Really pleased with them. The hole patterns almost perfectly matched. I did need to bore out the holes I wanted to use with a dill but just a little bit to fit right but boring and installation took 5min and I think they are great looking for $13.23 shipped... also all of the pedal faces are larger than the stock T500 faces which I like.

I have been looking at your website everyday for the past 2 weeks, and I have not seen any of your new T500 Blings. In fact everything on your website says 'sold out'. Is there something wrong with your website? or is there something wrong with my computer? where are these new 'blings' you are talking about? and where are those 5 loadcell mods that you said you were assembling? have you given us the wrong website address?

My T500RS wheel has it's clamping system broken .. what should I do?!! .. how much does it cost to buy another clamping part? And from where do I buy it?!!! I need to get back to my racing simulation ASAP.. please help

Drill holes in that deck and hard mount it properly. Here is the mounting pattern: http://ts.thrustmaster.com/download/accessories/Manuals/T500RS/T500_RS_Cockpit_Fixations.pdf

Then, open a case with Thrustmaster and tell them you'd like a new bracket because your's broke. (should you ever need it)

This is my second job -- and a part-time one at that, so I do it at my leisure, more or less (extra money is always nice, but so is downtime and time for my family).

New wheel center stock has arrived -- 3 new designs (the Jake badge that McFizzle is using plus two others), and some restock for current badges that are now out of stock. These still need to be assembled and packaged for shipping -- I won't take orders until I have stock ready to ship because that protects the customer, and it protects me.

The load cells still need to be assembled, tested, and boxed-up, and that also involves making the cable sets, and I just haven't had the time to finish that up. My load cell supplier has dried-up, meaning the ones on my workbench will be the last of the current design -- working on a redesign of the interface board including a dedicated load cell amp, we're currently waiting on new circuit boards and parts to test that, and then do the first production batch if all goes well.

Lots of activity going on, and I hope to get the few load cells on my bench finished-up shortly and the new wheel centers posted for sale, but I've also been very, VERY busy outside of the sim racing world.

acwebpage,

Come on bud, 3 identical posts?

First, people like John, myself and many others who provide services like these are the first to understand your frustration. Believe me, it's at the forefront of our thoughts whenever "real life" has to take the front seat.

We do this mainly for fun and to help provide a resource for the community that otherwise might not exist. We aren't Logitech, Thrustmaster or even Fanatec, where factories in China are rolling off our product by the hundreds or thousands. We do this in our spare time, in our basements and garages simply for the enjoyment of the hobby. We do it by hand with care and to our own, often exacting, standards. Sometimes, there just isn't time enough for this and "real life" be it babies, families, dogs dying. (RIP Samson) :(

Just know, we do care greatly for the community we support and always have your best interests at heart. If we didn't, we would not be doing this any longer as it would not be nearly as enjoyable.

We (or at least I) do appreciate the work you and John do to support the community. I would have ditched my T500 RS by this point if it weren't for the brake mods and switch replacements you guys produce. Keep up the great work. I trust you guys a lot more than the original Mfg!

PS> I removed the triple posts -- I assume it was user error and it won't become a pattern.

I just want to echo what JohnBodin and mrbasher said, from the vantage point of a customer and fellow sim racer. These guys are not doing this for the $$$, if they even turn a profit on the sale of their custom products, they do it because they love the hobby and they want to help make our sim racing experience even better. I am a very happy customer and friend of mrbasher, and I have watched what he and JohnBodin have done for our hobby. They are simultaneously juggling family and real life responsibilities with their work providing us with great custom products. They will do the best they can. I greatly admire they business ethic, particularly that they won't take $$$ until they have a product ready to ship.

My mount broke the exact same way. I hardmounted the wheel to my oZone and it's much more solid now.

thanks for the reply John. I really appreciate the great work you are doing for the sim racing community myself included. Please take it as a compliment that I check your website daily because I think you are producing amazing products and I don't want to miss out on your next batch. Keep up the great work, looking forward to it.
