Month ago I did 323km/h / 200 MPH in Nissan PENNZOIL Nismo GT-R (JGTC) '99
(no ballast as I intended to find the car's max speed)

593 BHP / 1200kg 2.0236kg/bhp

Done offline , solo run.

Online 322km/h , checked replay in MPH = 200 MPH

Oh yeah, first i was the seventh fastest driver in HarveyWallbanger's FF Challenge, now I'm a TTT member. Lifes pretty good at the moment.

Are you going to keep everyone's run/stats or just a top few and push the bottom one off?
 
Hey, small correction, I hit 202mph, not just 200. And Imma coming into your room to get my 599 run verified! :D

Edit: Update! The E55 manages 204mph with an adapted version of Milldrum's gears. Once I hit 206mph, I'll start on the next stage of my plan :D

When does the competition end? I might have a secret weapon in the 5+hp/kg range but I don't want to miss the deadline

I retract that statement. It appears that acceleration is more of an issue and horsepower matters over aerodynamics as a result. I've tested quite a few cars that IRL have a low cd and they just can't accelerate fast enough. It seems that the land yachts at mb have decent aero and tons of horsepower so the sl55 might be as good as it gets.
 
Well my first attempt was a bust. Range Stormer at 2700kg with 4.10 power to kg ratio tops out at 190mph might find a bit more but not another 10mph.
Next test is to reduce weight and power both and see if the absolute mass has an effect or if its just aerodynamics.:crazy:
Unfortunately that will have to wait till I come home from work.:yuck:

On topic time, I'm doing a live update from my currently open lobby where some cars have already hit the scene with new cars added from PSN members who wanted to join the fun. đź‘Ť

AntiLag_CA18 was the first to strike, with his NSX-R '02 getting a nice respectable 202mph in his first attempt at running the TTT gauntlet, getting a respectable 2.38kg/hp with a 434hp/1051kg combo. Next up came regular member Onboy with his E55, now improving his PWR to 3.30kg/hp.

We currently have a few different GTP people in here, and we also have cooldude running the GME drag room, so come for all the entertainment the monkeys are providing tonight. :cool:

Not necessarily. Amount and location of torque peak has it's part too.
Yes torque is a big factor because you need lots of it everywhere to get all that weight moving. There is an order of importance and torque is up there, but this being a competition I'll keep that to myself for the time being.

OK, that explains it. But why doing a Weight reduction?

Take my config and add some power and you go easy 200.

The CF hood was already done before this challenge was even thought of. Back before my PS3 first broke I'd been racing in a PP limited room every night... I decided to try the SL55 at full weight just to see if the resulting high speed acceleration advantage was worth it. It wasn't.
