Personally I think an eighties Porsche Turbo is an ideal "Budget" supercar.
But I think we've said enough on that subject, anyway, here and elsewhere.
Finally got into the 44s with the Cizeta (44.411"). It's got strange handling, that car: you think you've got it all balanced, when BAM! the front catches and you're heading for the outside of the bend
. I got it cos I knew it would be a challenge
, and the first sheckles I spend on it will all be about handling.
The Esprit is brilliant: typical Lotus chassis, which responds to a delicate touch and is very responsive to every input 👍. Superb traction, you can get the power down ridiculously early, especially through those middle esses, and with a handy line in lift-off oversteer, which you don't see very often in GT4 (Dave's Renault 5 Turbo being an exception)
. I decided to use it after an impromptu session with a 350bhp example I've got in the garage (also red) showed it could really handle that kind of power and is always an absolute hoot
.
The Jag is, well, beautiful, and I'll forgive its lazy, somewhat uninspired handling if I can watch its svelte long shape in the replays...
(there's probably a joke about my girlfriend in there somewhere, but I'll have to work at it). I did consider running it unmodified, but in the end I just couldn't stop fiddling (oo-er).
As to the "Mazda Mini-me" (©Dave_George), I think that is a car that requires a very deft touch, and I think I could do better with a little application. We'll see what happens.
All the best,
Ed
