I like the basic Gshock.

The GW 3000 bb has automatic sync every night with one of the 6 transmitters around the world. It will run perfectly if you stay on earth.

The sync happens during the night. Night as defined in you current time settings. It happens during the night because of as few as possible disturbance form other radio channels.

Now when you are in a plane at the time of the sync and if the level is low enough to catch the radio signal , then it can occur that the wacht switches automatically to the correct time in that area.

When the signal receive fails, you can do a forced receive of the signal. If that still fails you even can adjust the time by hand, but that is a pain.

Today, I finally replaced that with this:

Great choices a6m5, smart choice on that G-shock 👍. The bigger ones really can get a bit clunky.

As Crash says, do not let the "made in Malaysia" fool you into thinking there is anything wrong with the movement. The 7S26 (which is Seiko's bread and butter automatic movement) is built to last and is one of their most-used movements. Accuracy will probably be 15-25secs a day, which is the same as one might expect from the cheapest swiss movement (ETA 2824). Wear it with pride :).

Thanks for the feedback and the compliments guys. 👍

I didn't know anything about the quality of work from made in Malaysia, but I did figure that Seiko is a respected name in watches, so it should be OK. Kind of embarrassing, but I didn't know what they meant by "automatic". I guess that was a added bonus. :P

Got this Casio G Shock green army Mudman for 2 years now, not bad, also have a cheaper digital watch for daily grind, and another Alba All Titanium analog for special occasions

I took the picture from another site, hope that's okay.

My everyday watch, the classic G-Shock DW-6900

Had mine for over 15 years now, before they became the current must have fashion accessory ;)

Woohaa, the GA150, the succesor of the GA100 I have. Nice piece.

At Michael88, go take shower :P

Pfff, I know the time just by measuring the distance between the sun and the horizon with my palm. :sly:

I was also wondering about your opinion on watches, but we didn't see that coming, obviously.

I'd rather know the time to within a few minutes when i'm being cooked alive on a desert island :sly:

Handy place to put a small compass too (watch strap).

All this talk of watches! Look what happened, I just bought this!

I ordered the leather strap version

Delivery in about 5 days from Texas.

^^ Nice classic look with newish blue hands. If the leather strap gets old, I suggest you put it on a Nato strap. I think that would suit that Fortis very well.

This is my current watch for work/evening type wear. I couldn't resist the carbon fibre face.

My other watch is a blue aluminium Swatch Irony that I have had for at least 7 years and still love.
This bad boy

Hm, the 12, 4 and 8 kinda dominates the eye though, makes me forget there are other numbers there as well!

Ah.

Colour scheme looks good too.

Well well, I happen to have Swatch Irony too: the windfall:

The big 4 8 and 12 have function: At 4, you start thinking of your first beer. At 8 you should have had 4 of them and at 12 you should have enough and go to bed. Easy.

@ Gejabo's blue GShock, love the blue, bit like Subaru's blue.

Are you gonna post the pic of it? Out of my reach(!), but it looks pretty cool from the pics I've seen with leather straps. 👍

You sound like a kind of guy who didn't wait until that late in the afternoon to start thinking about beer. You ain't fooling anyone. :P

Nah, I am getting old and just pretending, I am drinking cold water now while playing Max Payne 3 :P

I've been wearing this ^^ for years, but it's getting a bit battered and bruised, so I'm thinking of getting this:
