Very nice choices there Crash. The second one is a cracking watch. Seiko have heaps of more dressy auto's, so you're in good company ;).

Thanks Mike. I like Seikos, they don't have have cachet of Swiss watches, but they are generally cheaper and everyone who's own one of them swears by their reliability. I know that they have a ton of really nice, dressy auto's, but a lot of them don't seem to be available in the US.

My problem with watches also is that my wrist is kind of small. Both of those Seikos only have a case diameter of 36mm-37mm, and anything bigger than that gets kind of disproportionate for my wrist. Many places seem to have watches that are either tiny, or are huge. The Hamilton Jazzmasters look nice and is available in a smaller case and a relatively reasonable price. Any suggestions about what else to look at?

Speaking of Seikos, I decided against a Rotary Aquaspeed and got this instead which arrived earlier! Beautiful:

And yes I have a retarded wrist. I've worn watches for so long there's a permanent groove :P

I have a Swatch Body and Soul and a retro classic Casio digital (the sort of slimline ones that trendy people wear these days).

Funnily for a 15 year old (when I bought the Swatch) who was into shiny, chintzy things, I opted for the leather strap over the metal one as I thought it suited it more and I would grow out of the shiny stage and into a leather strap stage at some point, but people around me haven't. When I mention that it was a conncious decision to go leather, all the people around uni say the metal would have looked better. This could be because they are from the country and country folk think different to city folk, but I still stand by my opinion though and I guess that's what counts.

Very true - the trend these days is for oversized watches, which is ok if have a sausagey wrist, but it makes it hard if you don't.

Have you had a check out of Orient watches? Orient Watch USA have a big selection of nice autos. They are a little more then seiko ($100-$200), but on an equal footing quality wise. If you sign up to that website, you often get 50% discount coupons too.

The other option is to look for Seiko's online that aren't otherwise available in the US. I picked this up from my dad for around $100 two years ago for example, from a Singaporean place:

Let me know if you want some legit sites to have a look-see. 👍

Speaking of Seikos

The Pulsar also looks great, but when I saw the Diesel I immediately fell in love, love the black/yellow contrast. 👍

I must say that color combo looks very nice. Bit big for my taste though.

Is that a canvas strap on the Diesel? When worn you can always get a nice Nato band on it.

Krog
If only, If only.

Lol Veyron watch. So expensive to do the same thing as a $2 watch. Also krog do you have an iPhone with a game calling racing live? If so stop racing me non stop. A guy with the same name is killing me.

My dad wants to get me a watch or something of the sort for christmas. What are the best watches for less than $200?

^ Casio G-Shocks are fairly well priced and are jam packed full of features. My watch was a thermometer, a dual chronograph and a world clock.

I have looked at these but I don't really like the look. Its too "sporty." Im looking for a good looking watch that is durable but nice for the money as well.

My newest addition, Fila Sherpa Chronograph

Weighs 486g! Feels nice and heavy on the wrist
Japan OS80 movement, not the best but hey, I got this dirt cheap :sly:

Well, my watch died couple of weeks ago. Bummer, as I thought it was gonna run forever. It lasted damn near a whole decade. :(

For now, I got a cheapie off eBay for $66(yay! free ship!):

The actual watch doesn't do picture justice! :P It's an OK watch for a cheapie, but yeah, the quality does not begin to match up to the Citizen Navihawk(Blue Angels watch).

I've been wanting a Casio G-Shock for awhile now, so I think I'm gonna get one of those as well.
Well, after receiving recommendations from Mike & Submerged on G-Shocks, I started looking. Only problem, I have small wrist, and those watches are MASSIVE. I forgot to post it, but I ended up buying the entry model G-Shock, which also happened to be moderately sized, and perfect for my wrist:

The Casio/Edifice I bought back in October, I ended up selling it to my buddy, as the watch was another ginormous G-Shock-sized watch. Today, I finally replaced that with this:

I like this trick back cover, but I noticed "Movement Malaysia" on there.

I hope it works out OK, and doesn't crap out on me.

P.S. I noticed that James/G.T got the same watch, but with blue color back in November.

Nice watches.

I have a Seiko with a 7S26 movement made in Malaysia. I have not had any problems with it other than it running a tad bit on the fast side from the factory. I haven't taken it in to be regulated yet; I'll do so later. However, even though it's not made in Japan anymore, the movement should still be reliable and hold up fine.
