Tissot PRS 330.
Huge box is huge.
Congrats mate, really happy for you and as discussed, it is a mighty good looking watch..
Welcome to the would of pukka Swiss watches :).

I have to ask, but how does it compare to the Casio you got a few months back? :D

Casio, what Casio? :dopey:
Nah don't get me wrong I still like the look of the Casio and I'll still wear it, just not as often

As for the feel it's chalk and cheese really, hard to put my finger on it but overall the Tissot just looks and feels like it's a waaaaay better product. As an example the click on the crown makes a nice sound and feels like it stops exactly at the point it should if you get my drift.

I hear you mate, it's something a bit intangible.

That is what makes watches so special - no two are the same and in the hand, the feel of two different watches will never be the same.

Hmm. Pondering whether a Regulateur style watch might be a consideration for the next purchase, e.g.

Hamilton-Jazzmaster-Regulator.jpg

Outer dial is the minutes, middle sized dial is the hour and smallest dial is the seconds. Mechanical of course ;)

There are different flavours, but the same theme:

I love the Silver with blue. It looks so good. Blue hands in general just look good. The newer breguet models with a light silver backdrop and blue hands :drool::drool:

Another vote for the silver and blue, that's stunning. The Hamilton isn't half bad either. 👍

I'd imagine it would take a little of getting used to (albeit not much) compared to glancing at a normal watch and the brain instantly processing the time.

Complete set in boxes for less than 90 Euro. Total bargain. :D

The very first series of Swatch Automatics in 1991. These came without a hole in the movement (12 hour position) - kinda rare nowadays.

2nd series with hole here:

Won`t wear them though but add them to my collection.

I have a Casio that came with a ten-year battery.
It's over ten years now, and still working. Without a change of battery.

Hold on . . . I may be able to grab a pic.

I was getting rid of my old G-Shock, because I was ready to upgrade to Mudman....... Then I realized something. This watch looks just like the other Mudman I was looking at, but it's actually a mainline G-Shock, not a Mudman.

Do I go for the Non-Mudman with Tough Solar, or Mudman with no solar, but added resistance to cold & mud? I'm leaning towards Mudman, but solar would be a nice feature......

I'm a big fan of solar, just to avoid the cost and hassle of replacing batteries and seals on water resistant watches.
Right, there's a seal, too. :D Have you heard much about Casio "tough solar" Mike?
@photonrider looks like you have got some good value/use out of the Casio that's for sure. 👍
I think he may want to look into a G-Shock for his replacement "work" watch. :D

I'm going to keep looking, but nice thing about Casio/G-Shock, lots of affordable watches to choose from. Not the one you got there, but other ones.

My G-Shock arrived today(sorry for the double post):

Casio G-Shock G-9300

Originally, I was looking at entry level Mudman with mud & cold resistance. I think they went for around $69 on Amazon. This Mudman doesn't have the cold temperature resistance, but it has compass, world time & tough solar(power), so I decided to shell out the money(around $123). I got it from Botach. They actually undercut Amazon, so I'm very happy with the price. :D

Very cool a6m5 👍 Wear it in good health!

Excellent choice on the tough solar; you've got yourself a maintenance free tough-as-nails watch with great wrist presence

Thanks for your feedback on the tough solar(played a role in the selection). 👍 I ended up selling my first G-Shock on eBay(it was the cheapest one they make) since I'm not a collector, but I plan on wearing this one pretty much daily. It's a big watch, but it doesn't seem to weigh much for the size. Very comfortable wear!

A bit jealous about you selling your old watch on fleabay, being in the US makes it easy. If I try sell mine and end up with an overseas purchaser, postage kills it. I have a few watches I want to flog....I dunno, maybe I need to give it a go to contribute some funds to some new purchases.

I'd love a G-Shock, but I can't wear it to work (suits :indiff:) and the weekend is pretty well taken care of with other non-work watches. They are very eye catching on the wrist.

Do tell more, I still have a few spots left in my watch case. :sly:
.

It's my Citizen minicollection causing me pain at the moment. They were the first one's I purchased when I started collecting about 5 years ago. I was bored out of my skull at a consulting project in Beijing when I discovered buying stuff online and having it delivered to my apartment, awaiting me when I got back to Aus, was a fun experience. :D

However it landed me with three watches which barely see the light of day. I think I even bought the diver after 2+ pints of Guinness after watching the the Springboks beat the Lions in the deciding rugby test in an Irish pub in Beijing

The three promasters I refer to are 2 Nighthawks:

And a Diver:

All solar powered quartz. The diver is a proper piece of kit, it even has a depth gauge in it that measures how deep you have gone.

When tracked postage overseas costs $50, selling them for $100 hardly makes it worthwhile :indiff:.

Hmm, $50 postage seems a bit over the odds. Normally costs me around $25 for larger bike parts from the UK, if that's what it is though that's what it is.

Sadly can't help you with a sale of any as my next watch will more than likely be something with a less busy face, more of a dress watch type if you get my meaning.

Postage rates has risen quite a bit in last few years. In the States, eBay charges you 10% fee, but they don't charge anything to list items(up to at least 50 items), so that does make it easier to move junks you want to get rid of. Craigslist, I'm not familiar with, but people I know swears by them & from what I understand, if you price them right, they go FAST.

Darn first world problems.

P.S. BEAUTIFUL Nighthawks. 👍 I have checked them out on Amazon before & I wish I was in market for one!

No fee for either the buyer or seller and as everything I've ever posted or bought was local, no shipping involved. :)

Just keep your hand on the rape whistle. j/k

Seriously though, I may have to get in on that!

I used it for a short time, then it was taken over by my eldest for a couple of years, then returned to my collection to keep 'tchicking' away merrily. I have worn it rarely since it is a little small on my wrist. Plus, it has no heft. (Not a bad thing on some occasions. :D )
It has an odd sound - not a perfect 'tick' but a sort of double sound - 'thc-chic.'
The sound a watch makes is very important to me. When it's the only sound I hear at night by my ear. Otherwise all watch sounds - and clock sounds and chimes for that matter - fascinate me. I can spend quite some time with a good watch at my ear, listening.

Would you believe this is one of my work watches?

As a painting contractor, I may dress up a bit for a morning meeting with a client - and of course with the necessary bling that will provide the right statement. If all goes right and I secure the contract, I may then head off right away to the paint store to order supplies to be delivered early the next morning. Because I deal with the stores so often, and know the staff so well I may even get hands-on with the colour-matching, paint-mixing, etc, (I used to be a DSM for a major paint retailer, and so know this stuff) - and the watch can suddenly get spattered with paint, or take a banging against the mixers and paint cans.
The next day at work I may have another, more work-like, Bulova on.
Something that goes with a yachting cap. ;)
I'm the skipper, see?

Wow... that's a nice Bulova you have there @photonrider :)👍 I couldn't see that pic earlier today (was @ the office, internet filter is too strong)...

And... is that a Vector W8????
