Warm and it's still winter. Dry but a lot of wind., No snow for us Belgians this winter, I guess.

It's 40C at the moment:)

Yeah, now we've got that here tomorrow....

I don't mind it hot during the day, but two hot days in a row just gives you stupidly hot nights. At the moment it's just after 10pm and it's still 33C.

I cannot stand hot nights, early last year we got 4 45C days in a row.:scared:

Anyway we had a barbecue at the beach tonight, i was swimming at 9pm, still warm.:)

Here's how crazy it is to live in colorado. Of course we have had mad snow in the last few weeks, but the last three days its been 50f (10c) which is quite warm for us this time of year. Now I hear that the HIGHS the next three days are going to be around 15f (-9c) and a chance of snow each of those three days. :crazy: :boggled: 🤬 :banghead: :odd: :yuck:

EDIT: Here is a link to a conversion chart so all of us yankees can figure out what the heck the celcius number really is! It is also useful for the mph conversion.

Got up this morning for my regular 4 kilometre walk/jog at 6:45, and it was warm :grumpy:

It is currrently hovering around 37C - a little under 100F. I wish it was still cool again, or at least not so darn hot :(

*Looks up at blue sky* "Please storm, pleeeeeeez?"

Well here in Seattle its SNOWING WOOHOOO!!! but I'm sick and cant enjoy it :(

Hehe. Where abouts are you. Down here in Burien we have three inches.:sly:

No school for me tomorrow. The roads are an absolute mess. About 1mph. average.

I was up in Seattle earlier today, and the snow got deeper and deeper as we went south. This is so cool!

Apparently the latest weather here in Adelaide was 28°. It hasn't really been a super hot summer this year.

It's been freezing for most of this Summer, we got a few days near 40C, but barely more than 40.

Its 7.21 AM, still dark outside but I can hear a lot of wind. Not going to be nice weather I guess.

Wow. What an awesome night. Didn't drop below 30C, and was back to 33 when I left for work at 7am. It was the second hottest night in history.

Nights didn't seem so hot here.

Heavy overcast, rain, lots of wind. Really don't like this type of weather. Please, give us snow, if only for one day.

Right, I have a question. I see some weather observations that say that the temp is this, but it feels like that

eg.

Current Temp. 34.7C
Feels Like. 34.2C

Where the heck does the computer get the "feels like" bit from?? Is there some dude standing around going "Naaah, you know, I reckon it feels more like thirty four point two degrees to me, whaddya think Maaarge?" or what?

Yesterday... worst blizzard in years! 20 cm of snow (drifts in my yard are over 1m tall), couldn't see the car in front of me on the way home (which took me 1.5 hours instead of the usual 7 min)! No snow this morning, but its a nippy -42C with the windchill. Didn't plug my car in last night and it still started right up... can't stop my Grand Am (*knock on wood*)!

We have a small storm on our hands. Brrrr

Dude, that's nothing. Read the Seattle bits. You'll see.

We had about 5 inches last night. The best part, 10-20 miles north in the city, there is NOTHING.:sly:

its actually gotten pretty chilly for floridas standards. was about 50F to 60F :lol:

its fun too see the people born and raised in florida chivering. im from nh so im used to the low and negative degrees.

by next week it will back in the 80's and 90's again and ill be sweating my but off as usual

The storm was even worse than I thought. Lot off damage and there were even people killed by falling trees.

I'm in Redmond it was funny because it had snowed a little and then about 2 or 3 hours later we got 4 inches over the course of about 30 minuets and now at 10:30 the sky is clear blue and its sunny and its ****ING COLD!! and last night my dad left work at 6:00 and it took him 2 hours to get home and work is only 4 and a half miles away :crazy: he said that people where stopping in the middle of the road to put their chains on :ouch: yea some people are really dumb.......

If you take the current Australian Bureau of Meteorology site, they have Temp, and App Temp (Apparent).

Apparent Temp is defined as:

App Temp' is the Steadman Apparent Temperature in shade. The Apparent Temperature is an estimation of what the temperature 'feels like' to an appropriately dressed adult. Direct exposure to the afternoon sun would add as much as 8°C to the App Temp.

And if you really want to get more technical....

The formula for the AT used by the Bureau of Meteorology is an approximations of the value provided by a mathematical model of heat balance in the human body. It can include the effects of temperature, humidity, wind-speed and radiation. Two forms are given, one including radiation and one without. On this site we use the non-radiation version. Version including the effects of temperature, humidity, and wind:

AT = Ta + 0.33×e − 0.70×ws − 4.00

Version including the effects of temperature, humidity, wind, and radiation:

AT = Ta + 0.348×e − 0.70×ws + 0.70×Q/(ws + 10) − 4.25
where:

Ta
= Dry bulb temperature (°C)
e
= Water vapour pressure (hPa) [humidity]
ws
= Wind speed (m/s) at an elevation of 10 meters
Q
= Net radiation absorbed per unit area of body surface (w/m2)

The vapour pressure can be calculated from the temperature and relative humidity using the equation:

e = rh / 100 × 6.105 × exp ( 17.27 × Ta / ( 237.7 + Ta ) )

where:
rh
= Relative Humidity [%]

Thanks casio. The sad thing is, the basic explanation confused me, but the technical one cleared it up! Cheers! Still seems rather pointles to me, but meh.

:eek: I can't imagine anything below 0C

It seems pretty nice again today, about the high 20's:)
