It's down here.
It's down here.
Have you swam in the bay below Diamond Head? I stayed with a friend that was in the marines back in the 90's. It's like swimming in a very large aquarium. He lived in an apartment that was right below the Crouching Lion on the back side of the Island, it would be a nice hike, I didn't do it as it is almost straight up but I bet it would be a great view.
We did not. Just walked from our hotel up to Diamond Head and back. Give or take about 12 miles round trip and 760 feet of elevation change. We're exhausted.Have you swam in the bay below Diamond Head? I stayed with a friend that was in the marines back in the 90's. It's like swimming in a very large aquarium. If you have the time a bus ride around the Island is well worth it. One of the funniest things I saw while there was a cop driving on the freeway with a paper map unfolded all over the windshield trying to find something, remember this was around 1988.We did not. There is a joke about donut shops there somewhere...If you have the time a bus ride around the Island is well worth it. Sorry to hear that, I really hope things will be back to normal soon. Wishing you all the best!I haven't lived through an actual natural disaster with wife spread destruction in a long time. We lost power on Saturday and still don't have it back, which sucks because that means no heat or water. I'm using my gas stove to heat the house and it's a balmy 48 in here right now. Power poles are snapped in half still and trees are still down everywhere. I've been out with people in the neighborhood cutting trees to get the roads passable. Yesterday the weather was decent, 40 and sunny, but we're getting snow right now and tomorrow the winds are supposed to be 40 mph. Monday was the worst day though. We had a thunderstorm of freezing rain, which was a new one for me. It's a horrible sound laying in bed and hearing the snap of trees over and over again. Thankfully we have a metal roof which can take some pretty hard limb strikes but it's still pretty dented.

Northern Michigan — no stranger to wild weather — tries to cope with days of no power
It is another day without electricity for much of the northern tip of Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Utility crews are trying to restore power in a region that was hit by freezing rain last weekend.apnews.com
