Multiplayer.it: Regarding Gran Turismo 5, will there be something new in the single player mode?
Kazunori Yamauchi: Yes, Yes - if you look at the PSP version, you will see that the game modes are very different from previous Gran Turismo versions. Gran Turismo 5 will have many similar features found in the PSP version.

This is not promising.... i want a proper GT mode, tuning....

What I find interesting is on a fairly regular basis I would check various gaming websites to see what release date is being suggested. Since I started doing this for the past 6 months they would always suggest different dates and have a blank cover. This didn't fill me with much confidence as you would expect.

However today for the first time these websites are singing from the same hymn sheet and no longer have a blank cover as they have the same.

I was named and shamed for saying Dec 4th (probably will be again) but I have always maintained this is the perfect time for Sony to release GT5. All release dates in the UK are always Fridays and out of all the fridays in the year, Friday 4th Dec is the peak xmas shopping weekend.

I know this doesn't guarantee it will be released on this date but if you factor everything else we have heard/read i.e GC leaflet, this date must surely be the favourite.

Seems like a generic "filler" cover to me.(basically a cover they made so they don't have a gray square on the screen).

GT from it's inception has had a car on the cover and it's a car KY owns. With how mammoth this game is to be, do you honestly think KY would put a generic cover out there? May as well buy some mystery meat or canned goods.

GameStop has this generic cover too.

I remember I've seen official covers for pre-orders. Like the black cover for pre-ordering GTAIV. May be that's what those retailers have right now.

He might know alot, but can't give us hints anymore because Sony and PD will not let him! Maybe Sony and PD want to have some surprises for the Tokyo Game Show!

He isn't directly affiliated with PD and SONY though. He knows people. But I assume that's why he keeps shut. To protect his sources.

👍 I think we'll see the new PS3 running GT5 and some new stuff/demo like... well, I was gonna say NASCAR but I guess it's better not to bring that up again.

What I still don't understand is this:

OP
Second wind says there will be more than half of dozen hundreds birds flying in the beginning of the reunion on almost eight dozen of skypaths, and some of the birds will come from the past reunion just resembling the looks of the newborn birds.

#2 More than 1000 cars, with many of cars being transferred from GT4. 20 tracks with 60 layouts

That equals 600+, not 1000+.

Sorry if I haven't read the ENTIRE thread - it's just a tad Epic :D.

Yeah, 8 dozens is indeed 96..
..unless of course this 'source' is a baker. We can only hope, though 96 is MORE than enough tracks!

Which reminds amar212 was talking about an oven in his wind hints! So it could be a bakers dozen, which would be 104 tracks!!

I'd rather have five cars and gazzillion tracks than gazzillion cars and two or three tracks. If there were more tracks in Prologue I wouldn't be so eager to get my GT5 copy when it comes out :D.

I care most about the damn Porsche fiasco. I know the one reporter said they declined, but I still find that awkward when they already had discussions about joining. I can't see Kaz letting them slip away...again. TGS seems like a great time to divulge big information along with some new videos.

"Too much is not enough!"

There is no such condition as "enough tracks".
or cars for that matter, in fact the more the better.
Two very wise men. 👍

I don't know who was calling for 1000 cars in GT5 a year or more ago - it seems like one of them was Vanishing Boy, but they deserve some serious kudos for being so farseeing. And for those fretting over the track count, I'd think the number of cars would be reflective of how many tracks we're going to have. Remember, everything about GT5 has so far been a big surprise... I'm expecting many more...

One can only hope you're right man.

And as for that dude who thinks amar is sat at home playing GT5 finished or not it wouldn't suprise me.
