They may as well call this the PS3 American version because thats what its becoming. If they back track anymore then they may as well just release the 360 again.

I'm glad they are listening to the consumer. Wonder if Sony will drop the pay to play online? If they do then were back to square one lol.

Are they really listening to the consumer? Or are they trying to make up ground they lost to the ps4? My guess is they couldnt care less about the consumer and would still love to be able to force their original policies on consumer.

My guess is your guess is wrong. Every business cares about what their customers think of their products, if they don't they'll soon find they don't have any.

Er, both? They're making up the ground they lost to the PS4 by listening to what the consumers want. What the consumers apparently want is more or less what the PS4 is, so the Xbox is starting to look like that.

FM5 is the thing that pulls me to an XB more than anything but the paying for pretty much everything pushes me away again!

Oh what to do, what to do!

Just wait 6 months and then when no one has bought an Xbox one forza will start losing money and will maybe come to ps4

They wanted to do. But after the CEO came on stage and made fun of them. Microsoft guys watching this would be so nervous. XO would bomb.

They had to reverse it. Had PS4 done same nothing would change. So I think people should thank Sony and those 3min or so on stage that changed Microsoft plans. Competition is important and I hope Forza5 to be really good that would make GT7 even better. I can't believe though, there is no weather in Forza5. Weather affects, day-night, 32 cars on track, realistic damage. All this should be possible in next gen. Project cars IMO is true next gen racing game instead.

Turn 10 seems to have been rushed to release it, hence why not a lot of the game takes advantage of next gen capabilities. I can only imagine how amazing Forza 6 will be.

It is some sony credit for microsoft changed their politics.

I was against this company policy and against their Xbox One, but after past few weeks i had slightly seen some light in the darkness.

If the XBox One was out pre-ordering the PS4 and winning every online voting survey MS would not have changed a thing. They had to change. Not please people but to sell systems. The bad PR was a good measure of how much they weren't even considering changing until after E3.

If they want to please people they would release some of the Gold features, Remove Kinect all together and reduce the price. I'm still not interested at that price. Otherwise it's a system designed for current Xbox Live users. $500 + more to use touted system features is ridiculous.

Games like Halo, Gears and Forza.........um no, thats it, will be loosing money year on year if xbox flops as they pump alot of money in to those. A smart move would to go multi platform after to survive (or even rename to go mass market)

Those 3 franchises haven't had any problems in the sales department thus far. I see no reason why they suddenly should. Also, Turn 10 is owned by Microsoft. And I believe MS owns the rights to both Halo and Gears of War.

I'm saying if the 4:1 ratio is true then the game will sell so little compared to the ps3 equivalent that to make a profit, mass platform (as they don't have a hand held console - ios doesn't count)

What kind of crazy pills are you taking?

To be honest, I think the One will do just fine after all the policy reversals. It probably won't sell as well as the PS4 in the beginning, but after a couple of years, I'd suspcect sales to even out same way they did with the 360/PS3.

Never going to happen while MS still make consoles.

Isn't that the same side of the coin? They saw dissatisfaction in there product and changed the goalposts to try to change the situation.

Damned if the do and damned if they don't springs to mind.

All I'm saying is that the Xbox proposition has improved since E3. All MS did was help Sony charge for online play because the alternative on Xbox was considered appalling. The pay to play on Sony consoles was largely ignored by the very fans who would never pay to play online, at one time.

To me Sony never dominated E3, it was MS own goal that handed them that crown.

Yer Sony won E3 because MS pushed to hard and ended up falling on there face. But you have to take win anyway you can. Sony handed ms the crown with the 360. And Xbox policy aren't gone. There disabled. If they where disbanded they would be gone but you can enable anything that is disabled. MS is nothing now. Nothing has improved they don't care about us and so I'm not getting an Xbox Done.you should not buy one

I just do not agree with someone saying they listened to consumers without adding what Sony did to them at E3. Sony had as much to do with them changing what they worked hard on to make the system unique. The outrage was in full force pre E3. I'll get an Xbox One once it's worth the money, right now it isn't.

Sony didn't impress me at E3 but neither did MS. They both walked a straight line until one of them fell into a manhole.

Even if Xbox had the largest flop in console history, Forza and Halo wouldn't switch to multiplatform.

Turn 10, Forza game developers, are owned by microsoft. They are almost connected to MS Game Studios, they wouldn't turn to PS4 because they legally can't.

343i, Halo game developers, is a little different. They aren't owned by Microsoft, they are Microsoft. It was a studio created by Microsoft, hired by Microsoft, and all their decisions are cleared by Microsoft. They won't switch to PS4 because that would make no sense. It's like Microsoft selling Playstation products, it doesn't happen.

My guess is your guess is wrong. Every business cares about what their customers think of their products, if they don't they'll soon find they don't have any.

So do you think if sony had gone with the same policies, microsoft would be reversing their policies as they are doing? If they cared so much why did they not reverse them when consumers made it clear they were not happy rather than wait untill it looked like they were going down hill? Some of their rsponse to qusetions about it didnt show that they cared about customers views at all, They cared about their business not their customers imo. So im sticking by my guess.

Anyway i dont know if this has been brought up in the thread but today i had a sky engineer around fitting a new dish and we were chatting about consoles and he said that sky are in talks with microsoft and there are rumours amongst sky staff that they are working out a plan to include the xboxone with sky subscriptions like they do with mobilephones.

If Xbox had a flop, MS would just become a software developer rather than a hardware developer. Then Halo would be on Playstation.
