Things You Do Not Want In GT5

There seem to be GT5 threads for just about everything. But, I've noticed that various people talk about things that shouldn't be in GT5. So, I started a thread about it. To start things off, I think GT5 should stay away from:
1. Minivans
2. SUVs
3. Ridiculously Slow Novelty Cars (eg. Midget)

Feel free to share your ideas!

soccer mum cars are fune with me for a laugh. the midget got annoying though. i dont want cars that you cant race, like in GT4, or 'special color' prizes of cars you can buy new. they are evil

Yeah. The Auto Union Streamline was such a waste, as it can only be driven at Nurb. Sold the stupid thing as soon as I got it...

I don't want to see...

A million Skylines
A million Lancers
Not two of the same car under different badges (i.e Skyline R35 vs. Infiniti G35...same car)

....and another thread like this.

Maybe it was in the GT4 forum, but there was a thread like this somewhere.

Cars you can only get by winning all golds on a license or finishing a ridiculously long enduro race. (although B-spec can help with the latter at least)
Cars that once you've finally got them, you're not allowed to enter them in a race.
City tracks that primarily consist of really long fast straightaways immediately followed by 90 degree turns that once you can see them coming, you can't slow down for them in time and you smack straight into the wall and go from first to last place.
AI drivers that aren't subject to the same penalties for hitting you as you are for hitting them.

there is a huge defference in a Infiniti G35 Coupe and a R35 Nissan Skyline GT-R like there is for most cars. This is why these threads are stupid. a bunch of ppl saying they dont want stuff in GT5 when they have no idea.

Did I say anything about a GT-R? No. I'm talking about the newest skyline is the same thing as a G35.

First you people complain about stuff NOT in GT4 and now you don't want stuff in. Here. I will cure the problem. How about we just aren't REQUIRED to use the cars. Seriously folks, that is just pure blasphemy.

No, no, you're missing the point. This thread is about the few things in GT4 we don't like, and want changed. Also, it's about what we don't GT5 to be.

doesnt matter all the R35 Skylines are different than a G35
Whether its Suspension or motor they are different.

Worthless prize cars- Who would want to work so hard simply to win a car that can't even compete well? The prize cars should be worth winning. For example: race cars, tuner cars, rare cars, or concept cars.

Acura under Japan- Acuras are mostly American versions of Hondas, you had it right in GT2 & GT3.

One car company areas- One whole area for one measely car? You have to be kidding me. Certainly there are more decent cars for those companies, especially Cadillac.

Modern cars under Classics- Classics are 70s or earlier, with some exceptions for the 80s. No racecars or modern concepts under classics. Make a Specials area for them or something.

LINEUP: The latest models of all the cars built in the current decade
CLASSICS: Any car built 20 years ago or earlier
USED: Any car built 19-1 year ago.
SPECIAL: concepts, racecars, etc.

Guide lap license tests- They give you a very slow car and expect you to keep up with the pace car. How do you expect to keep up if the pace car is more powerful?

Autosave- What if you picked the wrong car? Since it's already saved, you have to work your butt off to earn more money to buy a better car, which can get annoyingly monotonous. Also, it takes too long to save.

Trophy Cars- You work your hardest to win a car you can't even use or sell? Then why is it in the game?

Cars without drivetrains- Even if you can use it, you can't use it in drive-specific areas. Cars have drivetrains, even concepts.

Open pit lane during short races- Why should you have to pit when the race is so short? It also gets annoying when the B-Spec driver accidentally gets knocked in there, resulting in lost positions because he has to wait for your decision. There should be different levels of races. Once you get races that last an hour, pit lane should be open.

Antiques- What's the purpose of the prewar cars? Trophies? Money baggers? They're useless, especially the painfully slow 19th century cars.

Moving Starts- It takes too long to start the race. Besides, standing starts are more exciting and traditional.

Cars you can win, but not buy- Why is it in the dealer if you can't buy it? All you can do is win it or hope to find it on consignment.

Coffee Breaks- Optional license tests that are completely tedious. One tap of the cone and you fail. Completely useless.

Oil change & car wash animations- It takes over 20 seconds to change the oil. Way too long. Why not just do it in a few seconds like everything else?

Customs (not tuner or racecar)- The whole purpose of the game was to take a stock car and customize it yourself. Customs ruin that purpose.

Random opponents- I do not want to go up against cars that are significantly better than me. I also don't want to lose against embarrasing cars like Beetles, trucks, SUVs, or Minis. There should be classes.

MY CLASSES

F= Under 100 horsepower
D= 100-199 horsepower
C= 200-299 horsepower
B= 300-399 horsepower
A= 400-499 horsepower
S= 500+ horsepower
R= racecars

Endurance races- True, endurance racing is popular. However, it wastes electricity and time to have to play the game for 24 hours straight, or pause the game overnight.

the little g-force bar tht was at the bottom of the screen in gt4.... do i care tht im turnin at 2g's?? no!!! waste of space!!!

The stupid driving missions, they're just plain boring.
The license test should be changed to "driving class" where newcomers to GT series will be taught how to take the turns, break, passing....without having to take the test.

Things I don't want in GT5, nothing. I want as much as possible in GT5 to make it as realistic as possible.

  • "Drift" cars
  • Drag racing
  • After market companies
  • Nonfunctional addon parts (Wings, stickers, tips, etc.)
and...

  • ****ty AI

-> What I don't like to see on GT5:

- Less Cars
- Less Tracks
- Release date delays
- "Always the same" weather/time effects
- Whining GTPlanet members not satisfied w/ GT4 & GT5. :indiff:

(No offense guys) (:

You don't want "release date delays" sounds like whining to me.

It would be worse if he released it when he wanted it to, I don't know what could have been worse cause it sure as hell wouldn't be the AI.

^ Hey, at least I don't whine about the game itself like others do. Heres an example:
-"Still no damage modeling again?"
-"What! Tons of Lancers and Skylines?"
-"We want Ferrari's and Porsche's!"
-"The music of this game still sucks!"
-"We wan't more Musclecars."
-"More NFS:U tuning options!"
-"Those cars under 100hp are just plain useless."
-"A.I. sucks as usual."
-etc. etc. :indiff:

-> Come on, guys!!! Good thing GT hasn't phased out of the market. :)

-> I'm so sick of these types of whinings! If the people here are so disatisfied with the GT series, just go play Forza/NFS:U or any other racing games. Gosh!! :dunce:

Agree! One thing I must add is when in B-Spec, It will pit when at least one tire is almost red (orange-red). It should be decided by the player not by default.

I don't want short versions of tracks - like Suzuka East/West and Motegi East/West. Nor do I want tracks like Motorland and Beginner's Course. they're just plain boring and are better suited to go-karts than to supercars.

And I don't want to find out my A-Spec points once I'm in the race. I'd rather know beforehand so I don't get some ridiculously easy or difficult race. And besides, if you quit out, it messes up your win ratio.

here's one with a nod towards realism. How about the cars come with tires like the ones they have in real life instead of every car coming with sports tires. In the menu somewhere it says "...if you would like to experience this car in it's origional form you can purchase those tires from the tune shop..." Oh great, now all I have to do is guess weather N1, N2, or N3 tires are closest to my cars origional equipment. :dunce:
