Bumping an old thread (and showing my face again around here), but my hated fo this game is intense.
I borrowed it from my next-door neighbour (I'd goten a free copy of WRC II: Extreme witha amgazine subscription and forgotten he had it) so he lent my NFS:U.
- It might just be my copy, but this game has HUGE graphical issues, and now I refuse to play it. I got as far as 'Kurt's New Ride' where you have to race Jarrus, Amy and Kurt around Market Street. Thundering over the bridge (yeah, right) and down into Chinatown, the track ... disappears. And doesn't come back until after that long left with the shortcut through the park (second shortcut on the stage). Most of the buildings vanish too, so all you really have to see the track is your opponents, the occasional lights, and the map. Unfortunately, the game keeps going without the track, so traffic frequently fills the streets, even though you can't see it, which means you frequently hit cars without ever knowing they were there. Unfair.
- As has been previously mentioned, the try-hard dialogue is also pathetic.
- I hate having to re-race events that can take up to an hour to win and my reward is the ability to change my under-car neon from red to 'lavender' or 'grape'.
