Things You Want To See In GT6 Besides Vehicles and Tracks

I would love to see the mileage of my car while online!!
A car maintenance log would be terrific, mileage of last oil change, engine/chassis overhaul. I use tune sheet "A" title to log this info as a work around in the format Original/Last Oil Change/Engine OH/Chassis OH. This helps differentiate the "dirty oil" rides from the fresh ones.

No more autodrive when you pause online.

What is the alternative though? This still seems preferable to totally freezing the car to me, also it's very handy when you've bumped someone and want to give back a place.

For my part I would like the following as-yet unconfirmed features (am very happy about A and B Spec being combined again):

- More than 10 top personal times for hot laps/performance tests, and the ability to delete results (why this was removed seems inexplicable to me). The list could be pretty much endless and scroll down, all it needs to do is log the time, car and perhaps its settings. Logging the best time by a given car/configuration rather than all its times would be a nice option too.

- Free practice and quali sessions

- Standing starts (except for races where rolling starts are more traditional eg. Nascar)

- The ability to skip the slow lining up for some of the rally stages, where you have to watch 3 or 4 cars race off before you.

- Faster loading for GT Auto, also your garage and paint chips when you've amassed a lot of them. I seem to remember someone confirmed a while back that the way data chunks are stored on the GT5 BRD is pretty archaic and badly thought out.

- More intelligent replays, less "fixed" camera shots and movie-style close ups of the cars when we want to see the relative positions of the other cars. Overtakes could switch to an aerial view from a little further out, for example.

- Better and more fallible AI, grudges, more "characters" eg. reoccurring opponents with particular styles and skills. Bobs had this to some extent so why not the AI?

- Without wanting to sound predictable, better sound. I've been playing a lot of Forza lately and whilst some of the engine sounds are quite generic and awash with distortion, it still sounds way more gnarly and exciting. To me, cars are as much a mechanical beast with soul as they are an exercise in engineering and design, and the GT series needs to be imbued with a lot more of this.

(1) Side markers or indicators or small mirrors for those not using the cockpit view so you can see racers on your sides. (2) Penalties without ghosting. (3) All real world race track that have 24hr or endurance events have in that option with time change. (4)Locking in all racers to a single cockpit view option (5)normal tire wear increased slightly for more pit strategy.

Realistic hp limits:banghead:
I'd like to add to this. Why do some hosts set their horsepower limits to 1,007hp or less? Why even have a horsepower limit at all at that point? The few cars that have more than that can easily have their power limiter turned down to meet regulations. So yes, the horsepower limits online should start at around 800hp and go down from there, although 800 is still a rediculous amount in my opinion.

nah it would be completely false except from the small handful of cars where it would occur due to metal strips on the underside of racecars to help protect the bottom, coming in contact with the ground, it doesnt just randomly happen on every car

and no, not every metal will spark up

I know. Bit on most flat-bottom low hung cars such as Group-C and LMP it would be cool and fun. I don't see why it shouldn't be added. I'd rather have it in than out.

Obviously you are correct about not every metal/car being able to spark.
Hence the 80's F1 cars.

Iconic cars from movies that had an influence on car culture , such as the General Lee, Kit, and primarily , the Eclipse, Supra, Evolution, & Skyline driven by Brian O'conner in the F&F movie series . Or at least some downloadable custom skins to place on their 'base models'. Not just for him, but all influential iconic cars of decades past that pay homage & tribute to car lovers of that era in pure GT fashion. That' would be a massive movement in a cool direction in my oinion .

They set that limit to ban out the Red Bull cars, and still have a pretty much no HP restrictions since hardly any car reaches 1000HP without hacking anyway.

I don't know if any of this has been mentioned, but Sony could have made another $50 or more easy from me for GT5 if they allowed you to buy, say... 10 restore coupons for $1...

Also, multiple garages to be user named to separate cars into categories.

Engines...

The ability to change complete engines between compatible cars, and buy new complete engines.

FFB action when ABS kicks with audio feeedback also, and option where you can adjust that feedback strength(0-10).
Same to traction control also. (Even I don't use it, but those who use should know at they aren't going on by them own, on the road only 'coz car electronics saves their asses)

I'm going to suggest some things that would have little, to any impact on gameplay for GT6, or probably more appropriate at this point, GT7, but would instead be neat little Easter Eggs.

Say we see characters or mascots from franchises that have been important to the Sony Playstation's lifespan walking through the pits or working in your car in the garage, that would be neat. Perhaps even the occasional themed livery on a car of their choice?
Crash bandicoot or spyro race suit or killzone/god of war paint chip lol. Would be a good idea even to have GT themed easter ends in tracks or pits.
