Hey, as many of you may have found out here or there, I do a bunch of drawing, designing and painting, and it is really something that influences my life, what I buy, what I see, how I talk and how I walk. This art and design influence is really apparent in my surroundings, and fairly often I like to alter the design of my posessions with some sort of custom work. When I blew out my wrist, nobody signed my cast because it was decked out with a black and white triballish smoke Sharpie effect, my bass had the same treatment on the pick guard, and I also added some musical notes for some lame-effect to the fretboard, make my own t-shirts etc etc.
My latest idea came to me last night flipping through a snowboard magazine. I wanted to somehow paint on the front of my iPod the word This, and on the back it would say That. Today I played around with some paints and stencils, and here's my first try at it. The back seems pretty okay, but I might need a new paint or ink for the front, or maybe even a clearcoat. I also havent decided if I should paint over the buttons, they might not pick up body heat through the paint.
Well the point of this thread was mainly to ask if anyone else does anything like this? Is anyone adding their own touch to existing things? It can be on any level to any extent. Anybody?
