This might be a bit controversial, but I don't like Laguna Seca

It was the first real-life track ever in Gran Tursimo series and it has all honors to stay.

Where did people get this "something has to be taken out for something to get put in" mentality?

It's almost as annoying as the elitism on these boards.

Yeah, like those damn "elitist" premium users.

OT: Laguna Seca is one of my all time favorite tracks, with several great overtaking areas, the corkscrew being arguably the single greatest overtaking section on any course, ever.

The thing with Laguna Seca is that I knowed it from Nascar and Indycar games on PC and not liked it too much. But it was the same case with Suzuka, which is one and only really interesting track in Prologue and I just fell in love with it. You just grow on it as you master the unique turns. Suzuka has its degner, spoon and 200R curve and Laguna Seca has its Rainey curve, Andretti Hairpin and turn 6.

But there is no discussion that after game completion, my most used track in GT5 will be the Nürburgring Nordschleife again and again. It's just two or three classes upon any other track in game so far, because of its history, its length, its difficulty and dangerous blind curves.

I feel exactly the same, in GT4 i used to hate both Laguna Seca and Suzuka.

But they have grown on me, they're both awesome circuits once you get the hang of them.

I find the key is not to be too throttle happy through the curves otherwise you just go wide onto the gravel. Thats why these tracks require a little more skill than the Likes of Tokyo for example.

In GT4, Laguna Seca was my "test" track for my tunes.... I absolutely LOVE IT and at a certain point I could practically drive it with my eyes closed... :D Laguna stays... No doubt about it!

In any game with it, Laguna Seca is my home track, the one I pour most of my time into with tuning. It's got almost everything. Not to mention, I'm familiar with it, so I can really push the cars to find out how they react at the limit.

If you get rid of Camp Zoom-Zoom, you also lose the first real life course in GT. And that, my friends, is unacceptable.

in reality the track as a whole isn't too great and it lacks depth/challenge, TT and the past GT games made me realize this.

how can you say a track like Laguna lacks depth , when you have sweeping long bends, steep gradients ,tight bends at the end of the straight ,negative cambers .
Can Am, Trans-Am, Formula 5000, IMSA GT, Champ Car, American Le Mans Series, Grand American, Monterey Historic Automobile Races, Speed World Challenge, AMA (American Motorcyclist Association), WSBK Superbike World Championship and MotoGP motorcycle races all race there ,so they must like it for a reason .

But I honestly think PD should cut Laguna Seca from all future GT/TT games in favor of another worthy road course such as Miller Motorsport Park or Road America. Why?the corkscrew is great and all, in reality the track as a whole isn't too great and it lacks depth/challenge, TT and the past GT games made me realize this.

Anyhow, does anybody share this same feeling?

No, I like Laguna Seca. And why cut tracks? Only add. :)

As long as we've Spa, we're fine man. Don't worry about it.

Laguna Seca has some great corners, especially the corkscrew, seeing motoGP bikes go down there is amazing, but generally it is quite a boring circuit. But i wouldnt like it to be cut from GT as it is part of the history of the game. SPA FTW!

I always enjoyed driving Laguna Seca in GT2 and GT3, but the re-modeled, and probably more accurate, GT4 version never flowed as well as it did previously. As much as i love the inclusion of real life circuits, they never can flow as well, in a computer game, as a purposely designed made-up circuit.

I have to be honest Laguna Seca is one of the most fun and challenging courses in the GT series, you can't lose it. :D

Laguna Seca is one of my favorite GT tracks to play on as well as one of my favorite photo mode locations. I would be astonished if it were not included.

I'm a newbie to the GT series, only started off with GT5P... BUT: LS was one of my favorites in the DTM (Codemasters) series! Awesome track, must stay in !!! Just like Brandshatch to name just one and all the other AWESOME up and down, winding, hilly tracks with off-camber and all what make balancing a car so challenging and fun!

Not to mention I've read numerous quotes from Kaz over the years proclaiming Laguna Seca as his favorite circuit in the world. Between that and it's standing as the first real life circuit in the game I doubt it will ever be gone from the GT series.

On a personal note... Road America or Miller Sports park? No thanks....yawn...

Pffft I laugh in the face of your challenge :sly:
I challenge you to a duel...

Was that directed at me or the thread starter?

...and when you post videos just get rid of the main part of the URL. Get rid of everything except...

"snp1LJE4h9k" or whatever internet jargon it has.
Directed at thread starter, didn't mean to scare you there Irons:nervous::grumpy:
Thanks for the tip, I'll do that next time.

Why the hell would you remove Mazda's race track? It's part of GT and will always be, it's the first real track that GT had, and it will stay until Gran Turismo The End.

It's like saying, "Hey! Let's remove Nordschleife, La Sarthe, and Suzuka! And replace them with very long circle or oval tracks!"

This is not exactly on topic, but does anyone one know why Monza hasn't been in recent console racing games?

I haven't played a recent F1 game so it may have been in those, but I can't recall any others.

No idea SuperCobraJet.Castle Combe is another that could be worthy of a place in GT5.Snetterton, Oulton Park & Hockenheim.

Since Mazada has a heavy investimate in this track. With GT Series being largely based on Japan cars it is extremly doubtiful that this track would be removed for this reason alone

Laguna seca is short, and all corners except the corkscrew and the U-turn 1st corner are all the same, but even so, the track is amazing, incredible...To propose a thread like this, you must be drunk, or not taking your medicine properly....

Why would you get rid of a real-life track that's already been scanned/modeled?
I can understand if it's not your fav, but that doesn't mean you get rid of it, it means you add to it.
Like they have every Skyline variant ever built.
Now let's add every corvette variant ever built.

I haven't played a recent F1 game so it may have been in those, but I can't recall any others.

It was in the last F1 game released recently (F1:CE).
Its been in Ferrari Challenge and Super Car Challenge as well.

You've just been playing the wrong games ;)

i would rather we have real life tracks more than fantasy tracks..
i do not like them, real tracks are musts for racing games.more real tracks than fantasy tracks is my choice..so laguna have to stay...

It's also in Forza 2 & 3, and is a top track in both long and short configs
