What is it about the shower that makes it so enjoyable and thought provoking.

I thought I was the only one till this thread.

For me I love the pummeling when the droplets strikes the skin. It's almost like a relaxing massage.

I have nearly passed out, does that count?

Really? I never thought you could suffocate from steam..

Next time you have time to take a long shower, push the curtains to the wall so there is no air flow from outside the curtains then turn up the water hot. After a while you will start to have a harder time breathing. Then just open up the curtains and cool dry air will rush in and you can breathe easily again.

I think it's our concentration, on the water and mind, no phones to distract, no internet, and the water drowns out everything else. I tend to take all my major life decisions in there, don't know if that is working out though lol

Have you ever been in the shower so long or turned up the water really hot that it gets hard to breathe from all the steam?

Yeah if I been in there ages with it on very hot because its a glass door shower I do start to suffocate. I actually have to open the door and stick my head out to get some oxygen

I think you actually start to drown in the steam because its mostly water and not air.

I used to work with a guy who was strangely proud of a story he told me (and others) if how his mum once found him passed out in a very hot shower following, shall we say, him over exerting himself. :ill:

Good to know... :ill:

Yeh and added to the nice heat and colder weather outside (for me in the winter anyway) Its paradise.

Glass door not enough oxygen? Then how come I don't have that with my glass door... Oh yeah, there is like a half meter gap at the top of the door to the roof to let air in. And some evil insects.

Mine has a much smaller gap between the top and the ceiling. The fresh air can't come in that way anyway because the the hot air is rising up stopping it.

I've gotten too hot before and easily can run my hot water tank out, and still be in there long enough for it to reheat and come out again lol.

Mum its my pee pee and I shall wash it as fast as I like.

How can someone end up napping in the shower?? Must be quite a scene.
It's like a hot tub that you stand up in. I've fallen asleep in a hot tub a time or two...I guess I'm lucky I didn't drown.

So you sleep on purpose or do you faint temporarily?

Well I'm too busy thinking if someone is outside murdering the whole family, and that's pretty much where all my random stories start lol.

A good chunk of my aircraft ideas happen while I am in the shower lol...
Also a few of my car ideas. I also end up thinking of ideas while at work...

It should. Water is considered by many people "special" and "magical", even by physicist.

I usually take showers at night, so depends on what I was doing last (for example, if I was watching Pokemon cartoons thats what I will think about dreaming that I'm a trainer too. If I was playing Hoyle Board Games some of the quotes that the players say will repeat over and over in my head. If I was playing Sim City 4 newer building ideas will pop in my head, if neither thoughs on the day events will repeat in my head).

Lol I think about lots of things in the shower. I think I think more in the winter because I don't want to get out and the shower puts me in a trance.
I thought up my name for my car in the shower. Its a tad racist so I won't say it. Sometimes I think up new songs to play on the guitar when I am in the shower.

Another thing that makes me think is GT5 racing actually, but I don't do much of that these days. That used to make my mind float around and I would log better times than if I was trying.

This thread's been an interesting read. 👍 Gonna take a show now, let's see if I get any good ideas...
:)
EDIT : Turns out it wasn't all that productive, but I did fantasize about a Ford Flex with rear wheel drive, and the Mustang's 5.0 liter V8. I think it's a pretty good idea, but I bet it wouldn't sell well. :indiff:

I usually get all ambitious and pumped up in the shower on saturday mornings. I think "yeah, i'll clean my room, do my math homework, study for accounting, play some video games, and go to bed by 1am".

Then I dry off, get dressed, sit down, and then i'm like "internet....forever". The

Just got out of the shower a few minutes ago. I had two things in my mind, cycling over and over, non stop.... first my car having a tough time (breaking down today, shaking quite a lot) - in the back of my mind: how much would it cost? will it prevent me from getting to work tomorrow night?

and the other was a song from my favorite cartoon (Pokemon, I try to sing in my mind "Nyasu no Uta" [Meowth's Song] in Japanese.) I had been listening to it just before shower time.

oh a third, I may have to walk to the post office if the car isn't fix. I have to send two flags-a few postcards-and other Seattle related items to a friend in Phoenix, Arizona.

What a interesting thread to say the least, ha.

I often think mostly of the night time just before I fall asleep, and in the shower more often then not.

The other morning I had a idea for a replacement for Superman. I thought my guy could be like half a Transformer and half Clark Kent, he'd be called.......
SUPRAMAN!!!!

Ha, weird thoughts occur in the shower :sly:
