Lobby #1 races have been Canceled

Lobby #1 races have been Canceled do to them working on the Playstation Network and it being down in the middle of the afternoon.

Its seems many people cannot run the race tomorrow at the same time. If we can't find a time that works for everyone then we will resume racing on

Oct 23: Red Bull Ring - 15:15

How does this sound.

Tomorrow we start at 2:00pm EST and just do a 1hr race. This way it's over by 3:00pm EST and everyone can still make their previous Commitments.

We can make it a double points race as well

I dont think its fair to do the race tomorrow if not all people can join. Most people already “voted” for next week.

And I dont understand what you mean with Red Bull Ring ? You are not serious in skipping Lago Maggiore ?

Todays race will be next week I may hope ?
That seems to make more sense, pushing this weeks race off until next week and keeping the schedule intact.

For me an endurance race of 1 hour is also something completely different than 3 short (reversed grid) races. I like the idea of spreading the chances more evenly with 3 races. This is your GT86 structure so I would hope you keep it like this. Endurance Racing is much more difficult for me because there are no brakes in between and concentrating that long is much more difficult.

Agree with the two above. Pushing back the schedule a week and doing Maggiore next week makes sense. If you want to keep the series on a monthly schedule we can just do 3 races instead of 4 in November. Lobby 2 can just be casual non-point racing tonight or something

* Lobby 2 Races will be cancelled *

It's only fair to Lobby 1 that we also don't race tonight. While it is unfortunate for our first season to be cut short a week, we will use Autodrome Lago Maggiore - West for Week 1 of Season 2. That is my pick, which leaves one pick from Rinsky and one from each lobby's champion. Red Bull Ring will be next week as scheduled.

Can you at least explain why race 3 is being skipped and what the logic is behind such a far-reaching decision to go to race 4 directly ?

I imagine it’s just to stick to the monthly schedule. Either this month or the next month has to be cut to 3 races for it to stay in the cycle, and the former has less effect in the grand scheme of things than the latter since everything after this week will be unaffected rather than being pushed back.

We have a 4-weekly schedule. Not a monthly schedule. There are months with 5 tuesdays like this one (23rd and 30th). So it surely cannot be this reason ?
@Macboyilija is spot on....there are 5 Tuesdays this month, which would keep things intact for a "monthly/weekly" season through January, which also has 5 Tuesdays. So knowing that, would there be no racing Tuesday January 29th to keep with the "monthly" schedule? Skipping a track, when there are 5 Tuesdays this month, makes absolutely no sense. Surely there has to be some other logic driving this decision.

i Don't see any problem when Macboy is asking something ( or as some people call it "criticize" ) in public , so why put it in a private conversion ?

If you want to criticize how we run things or discuss changes please put it in a private conversation, thank you.
It’s not criticism, it’s offering a point of view, a different perspective and opinion of the matter. Are we not allowed to make suggestions and offer up alternate solutions? Don’t be so sensitive. What is being offered up makes perfect sense. You also didn’t answer my question about the January season either @DesertPenguin

Because I just woke up and have work. This is a series run by two people that have to discuss everything before its official so if you have a question about something like scheduling and theres no precedent (since we just started) it's best to start a conversation with Rinsky and me and when we decide the entire thread will know. I don't want to fill the thread up with brainstorming yknow?

What’s wrong with putting ideas and suggestions out on the main page? Does anybody here object to this? We should all be privy to discussions that impact a racing series that WE choose to be part of. Keeping things “private” almost intimates hiding something or people’s opinions don’t count. Open forum discussion is an excellent tool, especially for a newer endeavor like this. Let everyone voice up publicly, not behind closed doors.
Furthermore, is the November season going to start on October 30th? And again I ask, wht about Janauary? You are not answering the questions being posed, along with offering up a valid reason as to skipping a track for a season.

Because he is the boss and think's that he is like FIA LOL..

in that case he can stick this whole racing series up into something...

PS .. That was also an idea and suggestion

Well, this is most certainly an unfortunate turn of events. As much frustration as there may be, I hope that this series can keep moving forward to be a positive experience for all. Looking forward to the next race!

I'm trying to keep positive but it's constant damage control and people expect answers right away all the time. I said I just woke up and at work and then more stuff. I can't deal with this for many hours so please chill. Sorry if I seem crazy it's just hard to manage.

Desert as much as I understand you were all confronted with this, but you already decided this week was skipped and next week will be Red Bull. So all the criticism is not because we want answers quickly but because you already have made your decision without consulting us.

As organisers you dont need to consult us at all, but when you make quick decisions without thinking it through, you can expect criticism.

Should have reacted immediately that you and Rinsky will think it all over and come with a statement in the next few days instead of using your work as an excuse.

Fair enough I guess but it was all so last minute I couldn't have waited for everyone to sync up and figure something out. You could say frustration took over but either way it's just one week and we'll be back at Maggiore in two weeks.

May I suggest a poll to see what folks want to do?

Or maybe folks can post up suggestions?

A decision has been made but that doesn't mean there can't be new considerations.

It makes sense to keep both lobbies on the same schedule. At least in its face.

Regardless of what track is selected for next week there is plenty of time to adjust and adapt to the change.

Using PM is a good method for managing a series. The fact of the matter is that participants can opine all they want but organizers have to make the tough decisions. Formulating concerns and responses in a non aggressive way is the best way to keep communication flowing.

RL concerns always take precedence over recreational/hobby activities. Particularly work and family. Let's all be patient and let these guys come up with a solution.

We may not all like or agree with the solution but then it's up to individuals to stick around or bow out.

My 2 cents.
