I had with Minolta 334.35 mph, but with NOS. Is possible to make with Minolta 300 mph without NOS?
With 350+ runs using that car, you need to be at about 285 before firing the nitrous. With a more specialised gearing, lower front downforce, and so forth it should be more than possible to break 300mph non-nitrous, especially when you consider that you'll have the whole back straight as extra distance to accelerate in. :)

On an unrelated note, yes I'm still here, yes I'm still tuning for high speed and (unfortunately) yes, I'm still currently without a video capture card. :nervous:

The Audi R8 is capable of doing 300mph without nitrous with no changes whatsoever to a 351mph setup, so I can see no issue with the 88C-V being able to do it, given the power advantage it has over the Audi.

Something of an interest dip at the moment, eh? :P

Nuts. I haven't seen it this dead in here for awhile. lol

Sorry guys. You won't be seeing anything new from for awhile, if ever. :(
I had to get rid of the ps3. :'( Needed a laptop, so's I went and sold it on craigslist.

But I'll get it for sure, when the full version of gt5 is out. Good luck, and may the wind resistance be nil. :D

Sorry, no image.

WOW, that's a lot of pages of posts! Sorry, but I can't be bothered looking through 300+ pages of posts! (Get it? 300? hehe :sly:)

I have recently started aiming for a personal top speed record, but I've only used road cars so far, and I'm using KPH so I'll have to change that little setting for this club :) by the way, how fast is 420 kph? :sly:

Also, how do we know on the leader-board which records are nitrous and non-nitrous records?

*new attempt coming soon* :sly:

Just make sure you read the first post to be clear of the rules, and perhaps the last few pages just to get up to date with the conversation and you wont go far wrong. I don't think it's realistic for us to expect those new to 300mph tuning to go back and read every single post. :)

Although both the world and non-nitrous records are currently held by a road car, it is generally much easier to achieve 300mph using a race car. Most road cars only reach a little over 300mph, so you have to be close to optimal to break the magic barrier. Some 4WD cars can be taken to quicker speeds, but these require a very unique and still not fully understood approach in order to maximize the potential.

420kph is approximately 261mph, so you still need to get a little more out of the car yet. Changing the display to mph (as you suggest) will make it much easier to 'ballpark' your runs.

Non-nitrous speeds are followed by the letters NN, except in cases where the car cannot have nitrous fitted (such as the Chaparral 2D).

Anyway, good luck with your runs I look forward to seeing what you can achieve. 👍

Master Storm,

I've studied the video of your record run in the Tommy K and I am very interested in how you were able to get the car to continue to accelerate thought the curve in 5th gear. the car seems to accelerate very quickly from 235mph to 270 yet 5th appears to reach into the 290mph range. I understand there may've been previous posts on this topic and you have your own trade secrets but I’d appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction. I've tinkered with this car for a while and just don't know how that is even possible.

Thanks!

So far I've only used a Mercedes SL65, an R33 GTR and a Cadillac Cien, which hasn't been fully completed yet, so I haven't really maxed out the potential. For some reason, I prefer to use cars which are not so popular or conventional, but that probably wont stop me from giving the Tommy Kiara a crack! Also, I still need to learn more about trans tuning and settings, but I should get to 300 mph soon! :dopey:

It's worth placing emphasis on most here ;)

Hi, Sail14958, and you've come in with a very good question indeed. Perhaps the biggest question in the world of high-speed tuning is how the hell the Tommykaira can be made to go so quickly, but it can be said that 4WD cars behave in very different ways to any other car in high-speed acceleration. The phenomenom known as 'power shakes', which occurs when a 4WD car exceeds a certain speed, starts to vibrate violently and begins to accelerate at an almost constant high rate is what causes the extreme acceleration the Tommykaira and Skyline GT-Rs can achieve. The art, as I understand it, is getting this effect to come in as early as possible, and to last for as long as possible.

Some know how to do this better than others, as the Leaderboard and my 320mph personal best in the Tommykaira suggest! :embarrassed:

Nice to see a bit of activity here :)

hey everyone. I'm back. But yet i have not been able to improve on my current best speed and I cant get the tommykiara zz2 to 300mph. If anyone can give me some hints on anything that would be great. As long as you dont tell me how to get it to 381mph.

i had a few problems with the same car, razgriz. do u want a tip? Lets just say you can get the wheelie to work to a certain point with adjusting weight.

Let's not, because such things are not permitted in official speeds posted for the 300mph Club Leaderboard. Please read the rules outlined in Post #1.

Oh has anybosy got over 300miles with a chapparal 2D? I cant do better than 292.
Mentioning the Leaderboard... Maybe you could look there to find out. Click, if all the signature links aren't enough.
While we're at it, double-posting is frowned upon on GTP, and to be honest this thread really doesn't need more pages adding for no reason.

I'm working on a car at the moment, which hasn't been used yet! At first I wondered why, but now I know... So far I'm up to 291.xx mph! So close!! I'm still perfecting the trans gearing, are there any other tips I should know? I need to squeeze out the last few miles, any help welcome!

Edit: Now up to 293 mph! Still fiddling with gears, but I don't think I can get it to the magic 3... I've done everything I can think of!

Cars suffer permanent power loss from extended use, and speed testing is - unfortunately - about as much strain as you can possibly place on an engine in GT4. Keep an eye on your power reading in the Settings menu, and get an oil change when it starts to drop. If, however, this doesn't bring the power back to its previous maximum, your car's engine is now irreversibly worn, and it might be time for a new speed test mule.

It's pretty easy stay high on the Leaderboard if you use the right car - I mean, I'm holding 31st with a speed that's over two years old now, and that wasn't even in a particularly quick car. Relatively speaking, of course ;) the old Audi still felt fast at the time!

Use different cars, to be blunt. The Option can't do it, and that assumption is backed up by tests of multiple members attempting it. And the Supra? It can do it, yeah, but you need both a lot of experience to do it and (I think) a 10km special.

The Option CAN'T do it?!? Aw 🤬

great :ouch: That's the car I've been trying to work on for the past few days! :yuck:

Okay, I'll move on to another car then...

ps sorry for the double post!
