The record speed is 354.2mph, held by MasterStorm. Out of all the users who've used that car, you'd rank 21st/34. Overall, you'd be equal 193rd. Remember that there's always room for improvement!lol, oh crap didnt even notice. and its rubbish then if was done by a wheelie!
where does this rank at? i got my Nissan R92CP to go 325.73 mph's last night!

Well, I personally recommend using a fast, easily obtainable car. The best choice would be the Minolta 88C-V or any black edition cars that you have 👍. I started with the Chaparral 2D, but that wasn't the best choiceCan someone give me a good idea for a starter car?
i'm on my dodge viper and can only get 275mph

Here's a little formula to help setup gear ratios. It's really important to set the ratio's and final independant of the auto setting as it just doesn't work as well.
This equation tells you the maximum speed attainable for any given gear ratio and final gear:
(60R * W) / (G * F) = V
where:
R = the RPM at which maximum torque is produced (in the Lotus Esprit its ~7600)
W = the wheel circumference - race wheels are 0.0012694 miles (don't ask how I worked that out!)
G = The gear ratio (for max total speed that will be your last gear)
F = The final gear
V = speed!
I don't have the RPM value for the R92 so i'll show you my values for the Lotus Esprit V8 i've done it in:
R = 7600
W = 0.0012694 (race wheels used)
G = 0.735
F = 2.555
(60 * 7600 * 0.0012694) / (0.735 * 2.555) = V
578.8464 / 1.877925 = 308.23723mph
I actually achieved 307.58 mph
Having set the last gear you then need to set all the gears leading up to it so that you reach each gear in the heart of the power band.
Other more experienced tuners will help you with the suspension settings etc.
Hope this helps,
Bud
The Rac3rX Section - Advanced Rules
Rac3rX was a member who was banned quite some time ago... look at his last posts to see why. To cut it short, he was too argumentative to follow the rules.Why is it called "The Rac3rX Section - Advanced Rules"? (Post # 1)
And what does "Rac3rX" mean?
Is that like RacerX the unknown racer without a name, or just a cool name for the section?
We need a club for GT PSP maybe the 250mph club, not sure if 300mph has been broken into.
ABud, that is a tremendous bit of arithmatic, but I don't see any figures that regard resistance; is that simply not a factor in GT4, or have I mis-read the post? Or, even, does resistance figure, just very weakly, as evidenced by your VERY slight reduction in speed observed in your test run, against your calculations...?
Thanks,
Dan

I'm just wondering has there been a Rx-7 to hit 300 yet?
I think the LM has; the normal road car not so much.

300mph LeaderboardMazda RX-7 LM Race Car - 300.82mph by mcsqueegy
My best in the road car is ~287mph.
Has anyone got the Chapparal 2D over 300 yet ?
I've accomplished 297, But no matter what I do I cant get any closer then that.
Yep, the current record is 308.94mph, held by Toronado. I'm 0.02mph behind him
I'd suggest using a much more capable car to start off with, as the Chaparral can be quite frustrating as a first choice... I found that out the hard way.
If you can explain what kind of settings you've got on the car, maybe I can help you out. 👍
