thanks...and this wont be the last of me

I've considered the Corvettes a lot myself, has anyone tried a C4 GranSport? I know the C5R gave some problems.

Nice running, Opendriver, I'll put your limited speed up now. As you know, I can't verify by MaxDrive, though, sorry :guilty:

Welcome to the club, BMWteamPTG! It's nice to see verification straight away from new members, along with a healthy dose of excitement! 👍

You're going up on the leaderboard now, as soon as you see your speeds on it you can link here in your sig :)

well, I've tried C4 ZR-1, and it's absolute manifestation of american car. heavy, understeers, fast on straights, understeers, doesn't stop, no powerslides despite almighty V8. translation: don't bother.

thanks DE...im glad to be a part of the club. verification...not a problem. its the videos that give me the trouble. but thanks again and im going to try sme more cars and try to better my speed :)

Glad to have you :)

A lot of members have problems with submitting videos, hence the sly limitations of some cars to just under 350mph :sly:  but if you want to have a good achievement without a video, use a less capable car! Keep the speeds coming, and good luck!

I thought good on straight line = fast?

Thanks :D. I am now going to try the Chaparral 2J, and I'm pretty confident I can manage it as I got it to 270mph in a preliminary run! I'll keep you updated ;)

DE.
Hey congrats DARK ELITE. My top speed in a non racecar is 291mph in my TommyKaira ZZ-2 which i happened to buy for no apparent reason. Tuned it up, and with a couple more minor setting changes, i was off to the racetrack. I used nitrous aswell:dunce: :sly: Think of it this way; Its not really cheating because if it was, it wouldnt be on the game would it?

in some cases, yes, but it this case it brings out the understeer even more. and it lacks grunt at upper rev band, where it's needed when chasing top speeds. bottom end torque is good if you have motorhome which you have to tow around, but in topspeed..? no. many 800-1000 bhp range cars fail because of the lack of high rev grunt.

you're right about this Leo.......it's a shame that some top-cars can't reach the 300mph-barrier.

One that im really disapointed of is the toyota 7. That thing is light enough and has the power. Why not? Well, I found out. it only did about 280 but im sure there is room for improvement

Toyota 7 might have bit too much downforce and drag due it's.. err.. "aerodynamics"..:dopey: but, I'm really disappointed that 220XJ road car can't do it.:( one of my favourite british cars after Lotus Esprits and Elises.. and if you have known to faint from sudden shock, do not try lotus Esprit V8 twinturbo's, especially if you've tuned them to 900 bhp. your consciousness will stay put on the starting line while your body darts past 200mph in the fraction of time between few seconds.. :ill:

Hi Supralover... That's a pretty old quote, and the Chaparral 2J died a long time ago (it never got much further than 275mph). But good luck with the ZZ-II, a lot of people have got it close.

What you say about nitrous being in the game, and therefore not cheating, is true, but then again the game lets you use an Audi R8 in the Sunday Cup, doesn't it

I hope you can get the Seven a bit closer, Opendriver... But I have my doubts. It just has no top end at all, which is very surprising if you look at it's stats or styling. Just a low-range engine. Good luck anyway 👍

I looked aat the dyno read-out in the setting and the power started to drop off at around 8,000 rpm. Im sure tornado will figure it out.....

The seven seems capable. I already have 297.85mph. Been off the thread a little while due to nonstop work and little GT4 time.

Cheers

It'll be interesting to see how this Toyota Seven competition turns out... It's been tried in the past, unsuccessfully, buy maybe it will get on the leaderboard at last sometime soon! Good luck to all those trying with it 👍

The seven is coming on well as I have broken the 300mph barrier.

I'll keep trying, I think it still has much more to give.

Cheers

I have yet to get any cars up to 300MPH. I'm close with a few in the high 280s but I have to fool around with things like TCS and ride height I assume. The only things I've modified in my cars were NOS set to full power, Auto setting 25 or close to it depending on the car and applied Stage 4 Turbo or highest NA.
I'll try a little harder in a few days to be part of the club.

Are you people able to achieve this speeds in Sarthe II or just the Test Track. I ask because even though it's an incredibly long straight in Sarthe II I find some cars can't achieve their highest speed due to the irregularities in the road.

No, the test track is wherer it needs to be done. If you have any question look at the first post of this thred and you will see that all of the speed runs need to be done on the test track. You cant turn around or use any "cheats":dunce:

You don't need TCS or ASM to be fast, the important part of 300mph tuning is:
- gear, avoid hitting rev limiter, see tuning in ^games guide
- ride height, low front and high rear definitely kill high speed
- spring rate, low is better (Toronado suggest me this)
- downforce, depend on car
- power, use as much power as you have

So, try car that can reach 350mph first :).

I own a 1973 Celica ST in real life (Soon to be running again!! And with a race engine!!) I was extremely excited when I found that the TA22 was available on GT4. It currently takes up 6 spots in my GT4 garage. The highest top speed I've been able to achieve with it is 199.75 This is unbelievably frustrating, as it is so close to the 200mph barrier!!

I would like to set a new challenge. This car maxes out at just over 200 HP. In an, ANYTHING GOES competition, how fast can this car go on GT4?

With such a small amount of power, it's all up to the settings and skill of the driver! Let the game begin!! (Please share settings)

>> P.S. As an aside, I have completed 91.3% of the game to date, achieved an all out top speed of 288.47 in a VW Nardo (before help from this thread... 346.73 in Toyota Minolta 88 C-V with copying settings from member "Team666" {had been 287 previously}), and have 230 cars in my garage.
