Three million...

I think someone should develop a metric where you are awarded more points based on when you entered your guess. And by someone I mean not me.

Right before this post, I did a little copy and paste and we're at 2,983,366 posts. So since my last update which is just on 3 days ago, we've gone up around 800 posts a day. At this rate, we'll hit the 3 million mark around the 29th of December now.

If I fail this guess I can't guess again? I mean cmon...I suppose letting me again is sorta defeating the purpose, just a bit.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but is the "winner" the person who gets closest to the time at which there are 3 million posts, or is it the soonest guess past 3 million? Or is it the person who has the closest number of posts to 3 million at their guess time?

When we hit 3,000,000, the person with the time nearest - before or after the actual time - is the winner. Of absolutely nothing.

I'll take your first guess only

Do you.................. hahahahahah.......................... fancy putting a time down................... lolololololololololol there at all?

Famine, you do realise that if you dont have a cut off date for guesses someone will guess like a few hours before the actual 3 million and probably get it correct to the hour!

I think you just ruined Christmas.

Post output has to quadruple for me to have a chance. I think Keef looks in a good position. Though maybe a bit earlier, as the holidays approach posting normally ups a bit.

@ zed300 - no offense, but lolololol:lol::lol:

Incidentally, I will cut off the guessing when we reach 2,995,000 posts.

That suggestion made me feel really stupid... I should've waited another three or four weeks to make my guess...

It's less fun if you actually play to win, seeing as there's no prize! Might as well guess as soon as you see the thread and hope for the best.

Well, I failed. At least I was "only" 16,000 posts short. Actually, for a highly random guess, I'm surprised I came as close as I did.

2,987,562 posts are now up people so we've got less than 12,500 to go. Since the last update, 4196 posts have come up (around 1050 per day). Over the past week we've averaged nearly 960 posts per day.

At that rate, we should hit 3 million in exactly 13 days. So late December 25/Early December 26 is now the bullseye.

Don't forget though that your stats don't include a weekend, nor do they account for the fact that about a week before your current estimated date is a holiday for almost everybody here...

I've been tracking the post count since July ;)

It's getting perilously close to me having GUESSFAIL @ 2,9..,... next to my name. :guilty:

I was really looking forward to winning nothing.

 I'll go hide back in my hole now. :P

Seriously though Famine, since you have been tracking it for so long, how quickly has the post amount progressed in that time?? ie. How many posts, posts per day, stuff like that. Would be interesting to know personally.

Oh dear, I am getting perilously close to the Guessfail. I guess its postwhore time for me, starting with this two sentence post...:P

Losing a zero dollar bet is still losing a zero dollar bet. Gamblers like us hate losing. :nervous:

Tell me about it Niky, it's like losing in a freeroll poker tournament. Sure, you didn't lose cash, but you're still burning that you lost full stop.
