Well, after few more days with GTSport, I can 100% say that "cursor up" and "start" buttons are randomly pressed by itself. So exactly the same as it was with PCars1 two years ago (not "square" button as reported previously, sry).
My game is pausing all of the sudden (imagine it when racing online...) or messing with ontrack car settings (leave bottom center mini hud on specific option and it will crank TCS up to the max or change power distribution on 4x4 or brake balance etc, meaning that I can only use map/sector times/radar functionality).

It`s rare and totally random, no wonder that even Thrustmaster itself couldn`t find the cause. "Cursor up" is not that bad, I can live with it by simply disabling it from controller options menu but "start" is a bigger issue.

Hi Guys,
I'm reading all of these positive and negative opinions about GTS, and i must say Im sad too. I played GT5 a lot but now, I have issues, as i see common - with T500RS wheel (especially FFB) but what is more important - please tell me something, can you adjust wheel turn range ? I feel I have something like 90 degrees both sides, how it is even possible to drift with that kind of range ?! Ive searched all game settings and found nothing. Do you think they will fix it or maybe i miss out something?

Thanks Luke

FFB on 1/1 for a T300rs feels much too strong and might already have messed up my wheel. After playing for a few days the wheel starts turning to the right side and bumping heavily into the end position once I switch on the PS4. Only workaround seems to turn wheel all to the left prior to switching on the PS4.

I really didn't expect the T300 implementation to be so buggy in such a flagship game. Isn't it one of, if not, the most popular PS4 wheel?? Can't quite understand why people are seeing different things even with the same firmware either. So far for me;

1. Default FFB levels were clipping like crazy, dropping to 2 and it feels great.
2. TH8A shifter doesn't work with the DIN connection to the base
3. Game has randomly triggered Start + Share (clearly a driver problem, never seen it happen on PC)

I tried contacting Thrustmaster on both email and Twitter. No response from either :irked:

When it's working, it feels as good as a well tuned PC Assetto Corsa imo.

Have you tried the PS3 switch work-around mentioned above? It works a treat on my wheel.

Particularly when the wheel has "GT Edition" in its name. You'd have thought they would have tested it.

I've never updated the firmware on my T500RS and I actually think the FFB is weak in GTS. All steering settings is by default in GTS at this moment. I do experience the more pronounced ratcheting when the car is understeering but it's by no means unbearable.

I've been playing with the T300 RS GT and I was wondering why I could smell warm rubber coming from the wheel (must be because the default FFB is making it work overtime). I thought that was normal (this is the first Thrustmaster I've owned, I normal run with Logitech).

So from the sound of things if I run the wheel in PS3 mode it should be a bit lighter on the FFB?

I must be missing something about the TH8A shifter as mine works perfect, its connected via the DIN at the wheel and the wheel via USB to the PS4. I do have my TH8A set in sequential and not with the manual gear plate insert. Is this the issue for others?

My T300 cut out in the middle of a ranked race the other day and I couldn't get it to work for about ten minutes. I was about ready to check prices on a new servo but it came back on. It's been fine for the last couple days :scared:

I've stopped using my wheel till hope fully it gets fixed and changed setting to motion control. I can't believe how much smoother it is the turning angle is perfect why can't all wheels be set up the same as this

If wheel is cutting power from motor, or housing gets noticeably warm on top after few minutes while fan is kicking in, your ffb settings are too high for wheel and it is "expressway" to burning wheel/motor... and GTS current default settings even at 1-1 are quite strong for T300 - so I presume it must be some bug or mismatch in current ffb settings.

Since T300 support doesn't quite work as intended (ffb strenght slider doesnt change much strenght from 10>1 as it did in GT6), I use it in PS3 mode (wheel is recognised as T500) where ffb strenght slider actually works (strenght at 10 in PS3 mode is equal 1 or 2 in PS4 mode!) so there is some room to suit ffb strenght to your style and also not putting too much tear and wear on T300. Only drawback is that you are left without PS4 buttons (menu, screenshot ...), but you can do all that with gamepad.

The slider does work in PS4 mode for me. A level of 2 is perfect and matches closely to other games I play setup for minimal clipping. The default 5 was hideous and clipping the whole time. I don't understand why people are getting different results though.

Edit: Wait, you said 10 was default for your T300? Mine was 5.

Default were 5/5, but even on 1/1 or 10/10 etc... I didn't notice a lot of change with ffb strenght > there is slight change in ffb power, but nowhere as noticeable as was in GT5/6 or any other game (pC,dirt ...), while my wheel is getting warm after 2-3 minutes (on 1/1) and fan kicks in .
After 3-4 sessions ,wheel is hot and fan doesn't stop for 15 minutes or more , which is not what I got used in past 3 years of use and for sure it is not good for tear and wear.

Anyway, I'm ok with ffb, just strenght is too much for wheel even on 1/1 in PS4 mode, hence I've tried PS3 mode and there it is quite noticeable change in strenght, if I set it up on 1 or 5 or 10, as it should be..

For comparision, I used it yesterday for 30 minutes in PS3 mode (5/5 setting) and wheel didn't even get warm (fan didin't kick in), after that i use it in PS4 mode (on 1/1- which is lowest strenght seting) and as written, wheel got warm after 3-4 minutes ,with fan kicking in and buzzing for another 15 minutes after I end up session, so I assume it must be some bug with ffb with T300 in PS4 mode.

I just want to know what setting now replicates the original pre patch 5/5 FFB strength with the T300RS GT.

yesterday ive tried that "homemade trick" and for me is best for now 7/7 but i would like to hear some more pro users tell us what setting is best for them

Much, much lighter. Went from FF 2/4 to 6/8. Feels a little strange for me now, as I'd gotten used to the weight, and never played the beta.

I'm sure people who want a lighter feel will be overjoyed by this patch.

Is this on normal PS4 mode on wheel or using that PS3 trick?

I've been fighting with this issue since release, brake and gas pedal won't reach their end points and are spiking heavily.
Pots have been cleaned, wiring checked, pedals replaced, i've tried other ps4 systems (regular and pro) and nothing changes things.

PC and PS3/GT6 are both free of the issue, no spiking, no ****ed up endpoints.

Edit: I have just updated the firmware to v46, the button mappings for the 458 rim are now broken.

Last night when I was playing, on two occasions my TS300 GT suddenly span all the way anti-clockwise until it was locked and each time I moved the wheel to the right it would fight back to go back all the way to the left. I took out the USB from the PS4 but each time I put it back in it would do exactly the same. The only thing that fixed it was taking the power out the base and then turning it back on again. Has anyone else had this issue? I only bought the wheel this week and I'm new to gaming with a wheel. The only other game I have tried it on is AC on the PC which has been great and not had any issues.

I've also had issues with the start and share buttons being pressed randomly and I was worried it was an issue with my wheel but after reading posts on here it seems to be an issue with the game rather than hardware.

I've seen both of those in GT Sport. Never on the PC. The PS4 drivers are quite buggy imo.

Thanks for letting me know. That's a relief. I did ring Thrustmaster earlier and she told me it wasn't an issue she'd heard of and suggested I turn down the in game FFB settings, though she did say an update had been released for GT today that may fix it.

I personally don't think the update has made that much of a difference to the T300 on the standard PS4 setting, it still judders badly when understeering, even with the force feedback turned down, but I do think its better on the PS3 setting, so I'm still using that setup.
