I did a thing last night 🤭
After having the chat with @Pesselles about the long standing mantra used in most posts, I adopted the spirit and took it to the extreme...
The lovely green reserved M3 got a make over and went back to DTG...
Highest I've ever been, just short of making the top 100 by 0.2xx but I couldn't do anymore, plus I had a pleasant surprise when I looked at my friend leader board... I can see myself again 😂 but even better (although probably will be short lived), I seem to be living among some resident extraterrestrials that we have 😁

@P-Courty I love your new livery. I'm fixing to attack the Gardens with my stylish BMW. I don't like the U-turn when I pass the finish because I'll take too long to brake and press the throttle. Then T2 to 4 gets me too because I lose my rhythm and also lose valuable time which is crucial for a silver time. Durn sausages!

Ooooohhhh! And I was just looking at getting a new Vulcan last night as I have an Aston Martin invitation currently wanting some attention! Nicely timed. Purple Vulcan incoming...
Meanwhile, last night I finally got round to having a crack at the Dragon Trail TT in the old M3. Despite some of the negative feedback I'd read in the forum, I really enjoyed it! It's slidy, it's a tricky circuit at an odd time of day, and it's just my kinda combo! I settled into an initial stint of 10 laps, 3 of which were invalidated. I say 10 laps, but I actually abandoned my effort on Lap 9 after a red Lap 8 and then going off midway through the Four Brothers on Lap 9... Middle silver wasn't awful for a first attempt.
Then I spotted a friend of mine was the next person up my list, so I took my M3 off to GT Auto for some visual TLC to see if the paintwork could pull a bit of time out of the bag for me.
Had another attempt and first lap (although in the red) was almost exactly identical to my PB!.
Then came back for more and kept it clean and knocked a good half a second off my time.
Now sitting low silver, I'm sure I can extract more out of this one. It's all about the pink visor strip - makes all the difference...

To me, the Vulcan is one of the best sounding cars in GT7! Looking forward to this one... when I do finally get the time. Still have yet to jump into the beloved ///M3 and give it a go.That should be absolute fire mate,

Its a great drive.. has the tendency to step out out and attempt to kill you, but on the Racing Soft compound all should be fine. Enjoy

The Aston isn't to bad, just did a couple of laps.
Easy to spin up on the curbs and while 2nd is a faster exit for some corners 3rd is definitely safer for most

ST. CROIX was my first TT that I'm not having at least bronze.
Tried it first time 15min before TT and didn't make it.
Small effort, small gain.
I don't like/know St. Croix and there is no cure...
I think I will like new TT and Interlagos, just hope so that Vulcan is drivable.

Just tried the Vulcan, what a terrible driving experience, such a shame, it's majestic in VR, but the car behaviour is beyond my understanding. Wheelspin as soon as you think about applying the throttle, it can be improved a bit with CSA strong, but the braking, what's with the braking? The first touch of the brake pedal locks up the front wheels and you lose traction, and thats just on the first phase, not even 50% of the brakes applied, and through the middle section it's even worse, it feels so unnatural trying to fight the car in this way, from losing the traction while braking to losing the traction while trying to accelerate.
It's a big NO for me this one, I dislike it so much that I may even return to the Gardens which I despise

In fact this might just be the thing I needed to re-energize myself. After @330_D recently dropped to a 1:49.1xx (by the way: wow!) I was left in no-man's land on my friends board with my 1:49.486. You, on the other hand, are still within reach. It's on!

Don't get me wrong, driving a car at 80-90% of it's capabilities can be a totaly different experience, it can be fun, correcting the oversteer, enjoying the weight transfer, cruising nicely and it's all good. But when you try to squeeze every last milisecond out of it, then the frustration begins

Okay, well. This is the best I could do at St. Croix, so I just took another bronze. But I don't think that's a bad time considering how many players took part in this event. So, I'm still proud of what skills I could show here. But @Dan_Tes 's lap was brilliant, I saw it in his replay at what lines he used. It was so great, I got an Astin Martin invite the other day and I was able to buy the Vulcan. Perfect timing, now I can use it in this next TT at Interlagos. So, what difficulty would you rate the St. Croix challenge? I think it was a high medium, low hard difficulty level.
