1.50.189 🎮 Dragon Tail

I hope one more push and I reach my goal 1.49.xxx.
The last sector constantly mess up my times.
Anyway I like the combo .

E aí? Tudo bem? (That's more or less what a "Hello there" would be in Portuguese.) 😁🇧🇷

Day one in my home turf time trial and the gold zone is unlocked. Plenty of time to be found with a car that's not bad it all to drive.

First PB before editing the post:

Edit: I continued hot lapping and got a new PB (1:27:639 - 2,39%)

I wonder if that's a safe gold already.

ABS Weak, TCS 1.

So....my first look at the Vulcan thing
It has the character what I did expect from it, long heavy nose and a huge amount of power on softs... welcome to tankslap heaven 🤣🤣

I did a remote session so expect to find some extra time on my first full stint, but for now it's pure fighting until you cross the line, brakes could be a bit better if you ask me, rotation under trailbraking is a bit heavy on the nose but it's definitely a challenge!

A sub 1:27 on my first go?
man prevails GIF

I've used the Vulcan a few times for fun on the weekly challenges, but I never felt it handled that great. Maybe it's the racing softs, but it feels amazing in this TT (if I'm careful on the throttle). And since not all the big guns have turned a lap yet, I'm 3rd on my friends alien leaderboard! :dopey:

Nothing about this track is conventional, making it the perfect place for a front engine, rear drive V12 Aston with 820HP. Get it wrong and the car will kill you without hesitation, but if you get it right, you will be rewarded. The craziest thing about this particular lap time is that I was 2 tenths off my fastest sector time in sector 1. But you know what shocked me most? The acoustics. Going up the hill from Juncao, there's a small left, a chicane for motorbikes and then a tyre wall, where you can hear a NEOOOOWWW as the sound reverberates from the left exhaust pipe. Never heard it soo clearly before.

Morning folks!

This morning was all about tarmac, and nice to be there again.
I was caught up plowing snow all the time at louise, I even neglected my M3 at DT with only 2 sessions.
So it was good beeing out there with grip for a change 🤣

About grip..... yeeezzz the Vulcan.... sometimes it has loads of grip and sometimes it just doesn't, it sometimes feels like tires cool down faster than they heat up, and once you go .....you die..
That initiall torque slide is correctable but ones the revs are higher it slaps you 🤣

As expected I found some time on the bigscreen, little holding back on exits but did enough 360's this morning 🤣
Did enter the 26 though 😁

Don't get me wrong, driving a car at 80-90% of it's capabilities can be a totaly different experience, it can be fun, correcting the oversteer, enjoying the weight transfer, cruising nicely and it's all good. But when you try to squeeze every last milisecond out of it, then the frustration begins :D
Completely agree but it also gets more frustrating when you get an invalid lap😅

Meh...I just can't seem to get a grip (punt intended) with this kind of car with high downforce and huge power running racing soft. It is kind of like....driving a cow.... Maybe I'm driving it wrong, but the car understeer during entry and oversteer during exit. Completely opposite of how I like my car feels 🫠. Did another 10 laps and only improved to 1:27.51s

It stumps me a bit too, but I've also been only driving the AMG GT3 lately and tried to bring that style to this car which didn't work so well. The Vulcan seems to need straight line braking until it has slowed far down enough to trail brake and turn in. I know that sounds like every race car, but there's definitely a feeling under braking you have to wait for. Otherwise, the car just pushes through its own front wheels and you understeer like mad.

For now, I can say I'm faster than the Muffin man 😉!

Ever so slight improvement without CSA and ASM. Are you guys finding yourselves faster or slower with them on this one?

Will go back at it again with @Tigney's suggestions of short shifting some of the corner exits.

What a blast this combo is.

Last night I tried it with CSA set to strong. For my (poor) driving skills it felt like the car was a little bit more stable in the middle sector, while braking and changing directions.

I didn't check my splits though to realize if I was really gaining time or it is just a feel.

TCS was set to 1.

Edit: last night results. Less than a tenth gained with the CSA.

Very fast and agile combo indeed!

It indeed needs delicate braking, i think i'm still on ABS weak and didn't run any other aids, but i am on controller.
most of the time i find CSA to hard on the pad, strong looses a lot of feeling on the steering and weak doesn't seem to do anything at all, plus for me CSA doesn't help in slower corners at all, and i can better get used to the power-delivery of the car than get used to the CSA so for me it's off :) ........ but may be different for a wheel user, some dudes @Dan_Tes ar doing quite well with it sometimes ;);)

@Evilmuffin i can understand where your comming from on this one, i do have that a bit with the M3 right now, first laps i was so happy with it, but the last chicane realy kills it for me  so left it aside for now.
