I jumped on for a quick session around Autopolis yesterday before I caught my flight, just to get a time on the board.

I accidentally got a bit into the zone and ended up spending 35 minutes going round and coming out with a 1.24.054 which completely exceeded my expectations by taking me into gold territory. I'm gonna have 48 hours to improve if I need to when I get back home.

Is anyone able to post the current Silver threshold for the Nurburgring TT?
8:26.218 for silver atm

This has been a Green Helluva TT ...

I was patient with this one, slowly completing the Nordschleife Circuit Experience with gold. Just a couple sectors a day, then a couple laps on the 24 Hours.

Day 1: 8:48.783 ... Solid bronze time but just feeling it out.

Day 2: 8:37.120 ... Good improvement, still bronze.

Day 3: 8:34.762 ... A bit better, still bronze.

Day 4: 8:25.942 ... Finished all the CE individual sectors by now, with the 1 Lap Attack left. I've broken into the silver time.

Day 5: 8:20.859 ... After a few days to gold the 1 Lap Attack. There are 2 days left of the TT to find 4-5 seconds, depending on the aliens.

Day 6: 8:20.450 ... This was the best I could put together. There was a lot of time left to find in my laps, but I was ultimately unable to get it. My optimal time was a 8:17.xxx still 1 second away from gold. So I decided to hang it up.

I'm very happy with the progress I made during this event. A tiny bit sad I couldn't achieve a gold time. Hugely amazed at the top times the aliens posted.

Great work to everyone going all out and doing your best!

Off to Autopolis ...

Dang you, guys! @NAXEHT decided to go mental and jump to the top of my friend's board with a sub 2:10. And @half_sourly felt the need to leap over me for good measure. I probably would have gone crazy trying to regain one spot at most, so I simply moved on to Autopolis instead. Well done to everyone here at the Nurb! It was not an easy task getting around the Green Hell in one piece.

After the disaster that was Sunday in the SF23, it started even worse today. I had no feel for the car whatsoever and had a whopping 1 clean lap of my first 15 or so attempts. Eventually I gained some semblance of control over the damn thing and stopped flying off the track. That said, as was the case in the Alphard, I STILL haven't figured out the last turn. I did manage to find gold at 1:23.829, but I can't see that 4 tenth buffer lasting.

Those videos were sure helpful, though. So much more speed taken through those corners than I thought would be possible.

What an evening! I started out thinking I wouldn’t be able to improve and just enjoy a last few laps before this Trial ends. I was WRONG! Session one ended both high and low; I just started finding time everywhere and smashed my PB BUT; I hit the wall before the Adenau section in that lap and it put a dampener on things, I KNEW I could go quicker but the sun 8:14 time was pleasing, I just wanted a clean PB.

Had a pause for a decaf coffee and floated around in Subnautica to destress. Then back to GT for the night grind (minus wine..!). I aviated, navigated and communicated beautifully on my FIRST LAP and not only beat my PB, I smashed it to oblivion! I made a whole 1.5 seconds over my PB on that lap and put a huge huge grin on my face. I made a bit of a mistake with in Hatzenbach which cost me about 0.3 sec but so many corners were near perfect for me I have no complaints. This was my ‘perfect lap’.

What a trial, what a track and what a car the 650Slow turned to be. I’ve had a blast, got rid of a few bad habits at my favourite track and found even more love for it and it’s incredible challenge. Really proud to get near our newest official forum alien @Dolph Drago and in the ballpark of existing forum alien @half_sourly 😁

Hey, look, it's time to let it out and tell the truth. I have been getting mostly bronze on these TT's. Some I didn't even earn anything. I got 3 silver's and 1 gold. I am pretty ill about it, sometimes I just want to go jump off a bridge and smash the controller,TV and console. I'm tired of spending hours and hours and still getting nowhere, I even look at 10-20 replays of different top drivers and still very little progress, i'll show you what I got for the 24th challenge.

Maybe it's a good thing I'm moving in the next 2 weeks cause I can take a break, I'm just gonna have to start joining lobbies and meeting races where we can practice for several hours. I put some effort in. It is just too long of a track, and very difficult to not get by with errors included. I don't see how the top driver did it in eight minutes using a controller. Well I'm gonna leave in shame, I'll never do another Nurb. TT ever!

I consider myself fairly competent at Nurburgring, I've done thousands of laps there and its pretty easy for me to outpace people around it but this TT kicked my ass so you're not alone, its a bloody tough one.

I would recommend looking into some racing clubs or leagues. There are a lot out there, and many are about the enjoyment of racing around with each other and not taking things too seriously. And you'll find a wide range of driver skills. I was in a league for a handful of years. Yeah, we tended to push hard in the races themselves, but in general we had a blast just goofing around and putting laps in after races, too.

As for the Nurburgring, part of why I came to love it was that the league also had a series that ran at the Nordschleife each weekend. Gaining a familiarity with the track in a number of different cars improved my performance around there. No need to leave in shame. It is a tough course, even for seasoned vets.

I'm preparing for my final push in the BRZ. I don't like the car, but I hate it less than the Supra.

Personal best is 8:15.346. My optimal is deep in the 8:12s...

Earlier today, I ran 10 full laps. Started in the 8:40s and then got into the 8:15s. The most disheartening thing has been watching a 1 second lead evaporate because I got on the brakes too early (or too late), or the car slipped on exit because I hit 100% throttle instead of 98%.

If I didn't take a day here and there to goof off in other parts of the game, I would eaten my controller a week ago.

Still, because I didn't attempt the previous Nurb TT, this one was personal.

Final push completed. 9 laps later a new personal best of 8:14.099. Optimal was an 8:11 :indiff:

I was building a rhythm and finding more time even against the new PB, but my hands got tired, my nerves were shot.

I don't want to be anywhere near a Gr.3 car for a while. Under BoP, they're all soul-crushing driving experiences in their own... special ways. The only thing that could save them from being terrible is if PD were to hire Maestro Priano to do their BoP tuning.

Ah, check out my reward for tonight's effort  :

Well...a sad end for me.... OPT on 8:13:5** but I still couldn't reach the gold. I needed more practice but one family member passed away and I was abroad for funeral and many days were gone in that. Even when I can came back home my mind was still there with what happened.

And btw speaking literally by the end, i thought to give it last attempt before servers go down and game tells me "game will go offline" in 10 minutes, so I go for it and when these ten minutes expired game tells "game is in offline mode you have 60 minutes to register your time"... Guys... Whatever you do in these 60 minutes, don't choose "retry" then it ends, which happened to me in pretty much first minute...

I loved Nürburgring TT challenge but I needed more time or focus to get gold. Aviate, Navigate...

Congratulations all of you who tried your best until the end.
Time for next one

i flew down autopolis for 1 hour this morning, but had tired eyes, ( i am crossed eyed apparently with both eyes outwards, but the eye muscles are strong enough to correct it all day, but day after day early gaming before work doesn't help ) so i had to blink a lot...... not a good time trial to blink more often than usual

then did notice the yello update warning for 15 minutes and thought, come on, don't blink, and full send
at the end i did gain on my PB ghost with 24.362 and clocked 24.19x....

So for the first time into the gold here, should be very short with 2.96% but he!, it is better then a had expected for this run

If you wanted - maybe post a replay of your lap in the next Time Trial, I'm sure many people here would be more than happy to take a look and give you some advice of where you can change things up to get a bit faster.

Sorry for your loss - you still put in a great lap you can be proud of, the Nurb is a difficult beast to tame!

TT jamais !
I've been simulating for 20 years with thousands of laps on the Nring and it wasn't easy for me! Last night I went from 8:16 to 8:14 to keep the gold but I have the same frustration as you when I watch the WR at 8:02

Excuse my english it's googletranslate

Respect for every one who pushed for their best on the Ring, brons, silver and golds are earnd for those who had the focus, concentration and drive to push lap after lap.
this one wasnt easy cause the WR time was just ridiculous.

Glad i golded it, wasn't that easy 😁

And you guys on my leaderboard are becomming faster and faster, were I'm am suddenly become an average driver 🤣
@Dan_Tes @Dolph Drago @half_sourly and all the rest 🙏........I just blame the DS4 🤣

Good luck on the Formula guys! And go easy....
Don't make me bottom of my own board please 🤣🤣

Here are some statistics for TT27 in Gr.3 cars at Nürburgring 24h.

Highlights:
  • Lowest participations since we were last here (the Nordschleife layout in TT 14). However, higher than 11 of the first 13 TTs.
  • Much more difficult than average to get gold, but ranks 6th in all-time difficulty for gold. Similar for silver at 5th.
  • Just over 36% of drivers got no reward; quite a difference from the almost 76% who didn't get a reward in TT14.
  • As with all difficult tracks or cars, the gap from #1 to #100 was bigger than usual and the proportion of drivers within 1% of #1 smaller than usual (4th smallest overall).
  • The skill of the Nürburgring specialists is just something else. The stats show this, but also look at someone like Gallo. He might not have given his all as he did for the Olympic event, but he was 93rd and over 6 seconds off the pace.
TT-main table.jpg
TT-comparison.jpg

Drivers with gold in all TTs
The number of drivers with gold in all TTs to date dropped from 135 to 134. We're probably at a point where those remaining in this group would be able to gold any TT combination (unless PD do silly things with gold thresholds as they did for the Olympic event), so those dropping off will now likely only be due to illness or holiday.

As usual I've split the graphs because the high early numbers mean the later low numbers are barely legible when all the data is on one graph.

Nope.
TT-easy.jpg
  • My time of 8:12.056 left me in position 548, which was in the top 0.47%, well below my long-term average of 0.93%.
  • Gap to first (2.07%, so the gold streak continues) and gap to #100 (0.75%) were above my overall averages, the first time that has happened since TT14, the Nordschleife event. That time my percentile was also above my average. With all three improving, I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I've definitely learned to be more comfortable around the track during this event. Remains my favourite track; no contest.

Absolutely love the livery you've got on that McLaren! 🔥
And the most impressive thing for me: I appeared at the very bottom of your rankings list, just sneaking into the screen! That's a win in my books.

Just to be thorough, I'm sorry to everyone who might've possibly been waiting for my results with other cars.

I was away monday and tuesday, and by the time I came back yesterday, I would've only had so much time left before going to bed, and I didn't want to force myself into driving. I simply ran out of time.

However, when I last tried doing laps, my best lap remained 8:12.888, which I said was "easily improvable", but I was very wrong. I only got an 8:12.9, basically matching the time. This was with the M6, of course.

You shouldn't beat yourself up. Nürburgring is a monster that gives us a million ways to make mistakes. Being just over 10% off the the top guys there is no mean feat.
  • You were better than 37,734 other drivers
  • You were better than 33% of the field
  • You've shown you can get silver and gold before
Onwards and upwards. And good luck with moving.
