Slight improvement this morning, I’m in the sub 8:15 club! It wasn’t even a great lap but I guess ‘a bit quicker everywhere’ adds up over time, I love the insidious improvement that comes with some Time Trials.. I’m at a crossroads where now my goal is complete I could try another car but I think there’s another second or so to be gained in the 650S so I might stick with it.

Whilst it is very forgiving balance wise and excellent over kerbs I’ve noticed it really punishes you if you get off the power or mistime a shift! So maybe not challenging like some of the more unstable cars but challenging nonetheless…

Might have to jump into the Supra on the 2 account and do another lap. Not super confident my Lambo time will hold as I'm only within gold by like .300 now. Oh well, was hoping to not use the Supra on all three accounts but don't want to miss the payout due to being stubborn.

That's a big improvement you got there mate!
I'm so glad i did a 15.474, that evil TX3Tokari71 has got nothing on me   i can sleep peacefully awaiting my gold......
as long as no one clockes a 8:01.0427 i'm good
I mowed some lawn on my lap and missed one apex by al gazillion miles so could be faster but 14.6 is to fast for me!
Nice job Dan!

Yeah they did find some extra time, thought they wouldn't anymore but they keep surprising me

3 consecutive laps!!! 3 laps I was up over a second on my PB and the one section that hadn't hurt my laps to-date binned it for me!! The mini caracel twice and then the last right hander before the long straight! OMG the 3rd one was the closest I've come to throwing my controller into another universe I literally raised it in rage, stopped myself, hit the PS button, scrolled to the right and turned it off. Didn't even pause it or leave the race lol.

Best I can do at Autopolis with dualsense is a 1:24.650, with an optimal time of 1:24.4xx.

Out of frustration tonight I turned TC0 back to TC3 for a few laps. Instantly noticed I was getting better rotation through the corners, able to hold it flat out and take more risks in more places without going off track. I didn’t beat my record but my averages came down so I was doing consistent 1:24.xxx laps instead of my usual 25/26.

I thought TC was always going to slow the lap down in exchange for less spinning off. So what’s the consensus, TC on or off for this one?

I've been there. I attempted to better my time last night after work and couldn't get past the Hatzenbach. After I spun turning onto the Nordschleife, I got out of the TT and walked away. I was definitely trying too hard! I think I'm done trying this time around.

I've learned that TT'ing at night doesn't work for me - in the sense of improving my times. By the time I get to sit down to focus, I'm spent from the day (and increasingly high as the night goes on) - work straight to my 5 & 3 year olds, dinner/night routines ,which I'm sure many in here experience. So I play early in the morning with a clear mind and literally the only hours in my day when no-one bugs me! It's glorious and worth depriving some sleep over lol.

Reading this thread always makes me want to fire it up and play

I was sitting here today debating whether I wanted run the Nurburgring one last time or move on to Autopolis. My first attempt with the Super Formula was not overly great on Sunday, and I need some practice to make a run for gold. As for the Nurb, I wasn't sure I would be able to pick up much time, if any, since I felt like I was pretty much at my limit...or so I thought. On only my second lap, I found myself well up on my best through time with only a handful of corners and the long straight left. I have no clue how I was so far ahead (my previous best was 8:13.401) and I felt the nerves creeping in, afraid I was going to mess it all up. And while I did lose a chunk of time on the corner leading to the said long straight due to being too tentative, I was happy with my choice to make that last run. It also cemented a spot in the top 1000. I was in the 890's and wasn't sure I would hang on without improvement.

I am still a little disappointed with that turn (see sector 14 :banghead:). It cost me half a second, otherwise I would have easily been in the 8:11's. I did move up to third on my friends list, though. Had to split up you crazy fast Finns. :P

Loving the fact that PD decided to run two TT at the same time.

With my time at the Ring still holding comfortably in gold, I gave Autopolis a go. As many others here said, I did not like the track/car combo too much in the beginning, it felt like my fingers are moving too slow on the controller.

I did have some training in the SF23 already though after Fuji daily race some time ago. After taking some time of getting used to it again and watching @Mistah_MCA lap guide, I finally managed to get into the gold (and the TOP 1000) with 1:23.682.

Feels like this car requires entirely different mindset to be quick on compared to other cars in the game with its downforce level. It is quite satisfying though to get it in the zone and start getting good lap times out of it.

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 amazing time Mr Dolph Alien Drago! Would love to see a replay, some fantastic times being set here and the focus to get these mega fast times must be incredible!

Think I’ll regret not going for a faster car/sticking with no TC but what it has meant is a largely stress free TT and no moments where I want to throw my PlayStation into orbit. Slow and steady may not win the race but it does avoid Dan melting down!!

I’ll give it one more go with the 650Slow tomorrow and hopefully make a small improvement 😁

I did try Autopolis today but barely got round the first corner without dying, that will be a tough gold IMO @Gomario JSP

Thanks! Unfortunately, I had the dreaded "Oh, sh....!" moment just as I was hitting the exit button and realizing I hadn't yet saved the replay. :ouch: Otherwise, I would post it. Funny thing is that I questioned whether I should try the BRZ after seeing the laps some have put down with it. But I didn't want to learn the handling of a new car with only two days left in the TT, so I stuck with the Supra and it paid off! :dopey: We've all experienced frustration and what-ifs. Let's just say my controller has gone into orbit on multiple occasions. Lol!

Good luck tomorrow. You never know what may happen. Like I said, I didn't expect to gain anything today. But I had a surprisingly fast lap seemingly out of nowhere that crushed my record by over a second. Even if you don't improve, it's still a fantastic time! 👍

I'm going to have to watch the Autopolis replays. That car has so much more grip than I was expecting. Brakes, too. I about came to a stop before I got to turn 1 on my first lap in my session Sunday. So each lap I braked later and got on the throttle earlier. I kept picking up time but was still well off gold. Clearly I can thrash that thing around much more than I did.

Turns out a 1:24.293 wasn't fast enough for me to stay in the gold bracket. I dropped out by 0.06 seconds so I decided to rectify it by improving my time to a 1:23.939. However I wasn't completely satisfied so I wasted another hour trying to improve further but I simply couldn't. Even with the timing turned off in the HUD.

Is anyone using TC in the Super Formula?

Last night I turned TC up to 3 (from 0) and it raised my average lap time significantly, but this morning I couldn’t get it to work out for me. Now I’m stuck in a limbo of no confidence where I can’t commit to either one. My PB was set with TC2. I really need to pick a setting and stick with it. Still 5 tenths off gold pace.

I used Tc 1. I felt like being on the throttle at the apex sometimes upsets this car anyway, so TC is gonna slow you down instead of crashing out, but mid corner coasting and trusting the downforce keeps it stable and uncovers pace. But then again I spent a lot of time in walls or facing backwards....

I'm still in the Top 10 of your list! ;) And I guarantee I won't knock you out of the Top 3 - and that would be a tough job!. Not much time to push hard in these days... :(

I gave the Nordschleife a go this morning but could not get my first sectors as i wanted so moved to Autopolis.....
the first thing i have to say..

PD FIX THE FREEZES!!

I counted 6 freezes in 1 hour and 15 minuts of playing, eacht time i kind of found a flow and i restart, BAM it freezes, have to restart, were in 50% of the times it hangs on the GT loading circle and have to close app again, and the flow is gone, for me it's almost not playable for me this way....., i love the game, and i'm not complaining often, but this just awfull and is going to make me a ragequitter in time this way :banghead: ( that's almost impossible as i am a easy going person )
that said.....

Autopolis...... Formula....... DS4.... = hell naaahhh...:lol::lol:
The laps i could do this morning brought me from 24.700 to 24.362 .... i fought for it but still isn't gold.
Here you can clearly see the difference between the fast and REALY fast guys.
most of the TT's i gold fairly easy but this one is different, there is ZERO room for error.

TCS off?, on 1??..... still not figured it out, same for the straight, to 6th?, or stay in 5th?...
Played around with the sensitivity of the DS4, and believe i'n on 5 now...
I did kind of got more consistent on the 24"s so there was some progression, but man, this is 10 times more difficult for me compared to the ring,

to bad i have to fight the hardest on a trial that i don't like

So yes @Dan_Tes this is going to be a real pain in the a*s for me
