How in the bloody hell are you doing those times? 😅 What kind of special controller are you using?
It's all about practice and then you get the feeling more precisely. I'm 25 now and I still remember burning the streets at the Nürburgring with an F2007 - It was GT5 days back then 😇
Or is this TT an outlier because of how hard to control the car is? Can you tell me your Autopolis SF23 time and the Olympics time if you can remember?
The car given to us is definitely a factor as the gap with the wheel gets narrower in a road car one-make. Less downforce = less precision required (I guess?).

IIRC, my Autopolis lap is 1:22.396 and my Olympics' was 1:15.519 (P266)

 , for me it kind of works because with a 19 old daughter running around, a wife that doesn't like the monotome sound of the engine thru the soundbar and 2 terror kittens who tear down the place...... doesnt' help for me haha

So my routine, 05:45 alarm, at 6 downstairs with a big cup of coffey.... and start racing, then most of the time i have an hour before the daughter comes down for her internship, she leaves around 7:15, then i have untill 08:00 until i have to prepare myself for work, shower + dressing in 15 minutes, grab some frozen bread and hop in the car, 08:30 at work :lol:

It's the only time i have for myself ( if the kittens are reasonably calm ) that i can truelly focus.
beside i'm kind of a morning person, 11 pm and the brain shuts down...., but maby that's because i go up early each day, kind of an addiction :lol:
Sounds like a plan!
I wake up at 6:20, feed the cat and the dog, get breakfast with my younger daughter.
The first hour of my day is basically drained by assuring that she puts in Priority1 leaving on time and in Priority2 have a perfect outfit.
Leave at 7:20, get her to school, get myself to work by 8:15
There's no room for driving there unless I wake up earlier, which I don't feel I want to do, by now.
As I wrote I don't think I'm the kind of person that gets focused enough to get some good result just after waking up.
So my drive windows are in the evening before going to sleep, if TV is available, or in the weekends after lunch

Yeah we know how you do it really... ;)

Do you have any lag issues logging on from Alpha Centauri? ;)

OMG! Stop refreshing stupid page and losing my post!!!
4th time. Just posting pics now
Edit: hoping I don’t lose my post again man how frustrating! Shaved 0.62 off my PB!! Glad to be back in silver range! I honestly hate the fugu one and unless I get motivated I’m just going to keep the bronze (will be the first one since I started participating in this thread so maybe I’ll change my mind)

My current limiting factor as far as playtime goes is my left knee. I'm still getting used to the G923's stiff brake pedal....after 30mins or so...my left knee hurts 🤕

Yesterday session brought my street of willow time down to 1:17.2...hopefully I can gold this one. Gave up on Autopolis :P

My dog is my alarm clock! He's and old puppy pushing 16-years in September. I put him on the bed at night otherwise he would roam and probably pee on the carpets. He will walk on my chest between 4:30-5:30 (I much prefer him to be closer to 5:30 lol) I take him out, give him a treat and then stand between my kitchen and TV while the responsible portion of my brain tells me to go back to bed and the GT addict portion of my brain saying, "Just take the Adderall, grab your coffee and enjoy the two hours of uninterrupted time before the morning routine starts" lol.
7:00 wake the kids 5 & 3 years old
Make them breakfast
Get their outfits together and grab things to get them ready
make their beds and then get them dressed
Wife wakes up around 7:30 (yet she does everything and i never help lol)
Get them out the door 8:00-8:10
At my work laptop around 8:30-8:45, think about getting started, waste 30-mins catching up on the thread lol and then start making dials

I have the same pedals, but the only time my knee hurt was when I didn’t have my seating position correct. Sounds to me that you could do with moving the pedals relative to the seat and steering wheel to make your legs straighter. What seat are you using?

Did another 6 complete laps at Autopolis tonight. Dropped my time to 1:23.586.

I’d like to think that will be enough.

Surely.

Surely?
How on earth can you make that progress within 6 laps? I was going round for 2 or 3 hours and only managed to get a tenth up on my record, and every other lap I did was slower. Stuck on 1:24.144.

I had an optimal that was within the new gold bracket, but that was days ago and I couldn’t get close tonight.

There is the problem...I don't have a rig for the wheel. Just don't have the room. The wheel is just mounted on my work desk and I sit on a chair.

This will not help the ache, but make sure (if you haven't already) that your chair is always in the same spot and does not slide. You need to build muscle memory for you legs and if the chair keeps moving while you brake, it will be hard to get a good technique on the pedals.

On to the TT, almost got a stroke because of the new record on Autopolis.

Grudgingly went back to sweat my ass off and made a small improvement.

Yes, practice is definitely the key factor, and commitment. Maybe I'm just not commited enough.

And also yes, the car is a factor, we may also have different styles that suit different cars. I personally dislike slow low grip cars but love high speed downforce heavy cars were I am confident I can accelerate out of a turn and still get grip because of the downforce.

My Autopolis time is 1:23.0 and my Olympics was a 1:15.7, but I "only" put like 400km in the Autpolis and about 1.000km in Olympics, which is probably why my time there is much closer to yours since I had more time to practice and get better. How many kms do you usually put in the time trials to get the absolute best or near the absolute best time possible?

One thing I forgot to ask was, what settings do you use on your controller to drive?

Motion Sensitivity?
L2 + R2, Square/X or Right Analog Stick for Brake Throttle? I use the Right Analog stick (it nerfs me a bit because I can't use the brake and throttle at the same time which can be handy in certain situations but I don't think it's anything really major) and use L2+R2 for shifting (manual transmission always)
D-Pad or Left Analog Stick for steering? I use the Left Analog stick.
I use no assists aside from ABS on Default.

I noticed that I don't have enough time because of busy life and then on very last day when counter starts 12 hours left or so I try to improve time but rarely succeed. Anyhow 1:24:4 not enough for gold now. Maybe next time.

Here are some videos if anyone is interested.
In video with cockpit view we can see how steering with motion control is twitchy or jerky. Old members of this thread seen me bringing it up now and then but I try to contact PS support to report it but they are just bouncing me back to contact PD directly and i just can't find a way to contact them and report this behavior. If anyone can help me with that I would really appreciate it.

If the twitchiness was a software issue, it would be a lot more common and would basically happen to everyone.

I can't image it would be anything other than dirty or worn pots on your analogue sticks.

Or in some fringe case some kind of interferance on the bt signal, but I've never heard of that happening.
If you've 100% ruled out the pots, I guess as a last resort you could try with a usb cable. Just make sure to change the mode from bt to usb.

"Navigate to Settings > Devices > Controllers > Communication Method. Step 3. Set to "Use USB Cable."

Can you try Autopolis SF23 TT and use Motion sensor steering (tilt controller to steer) and tell how it behave on your PS? If you have time make video from cockpit view, same as my video.
Big Thanks in advance.

Aa you use tilt controls.
I think it's just that the motion sensor is very sensitive and it picks up every small movement and probably isn't 100% accurate.
But sure I can try it and report back my findings.

Edit. Did a quick test and while the steering indicator bounces back and forth (like in your video) when turning more, the input still feels smooth.

Man this new one in the Nissan is going to be rough. This looks like another one of them where you have to pseudo drift around half the track; that's not my forte at all. I gave it probably 90 mins and am still .07" (1:16.82) outside a gold time that will still drop.

Anyone have any tips for lining up T2? I find this to be the hardest part of the whole track. I can't see it as I am trying to line it up. By the time I see it, it's too late (maybe the VR guys are having an easier time!). If I haven't guessed correctly and lined it up, lap is shot.

There are a few spots where there are no good markers and you just have to "feel" the track.
I loaded a ghost, set it to +0.3 and basically became a dog chasing cars.

Spent half an hour on Autopolis and can't even break under a 1:26. These high downforce cars are shining a spotlight on my mediocrity like none of the previous time trials have before. The amount of precision needed is insane. Two seconds is not a gap I'm going to bring down. Hell, I don't even feel like pushing for silver.

Looking at my friends times helps a bit, though, as I see it's not just me.

I need to have your friends list!! I dropped my time from 1:25.655 to 1:25.066 this morning (randomness cuz it was literally .54 seconds faster than 3-laps prior when I dropped it to .603 from .655) and I still have to scroll down a little to see my name lol.
