Here are some statistics for TT28 in the Super Formula SF23 at Autopolis International Racing Course.

Highlights:
  • Participation was above average, but more than 20k below the peak we saw at Fuji in Gr.3 cars. I appreciate the link to real life events, but with the recent three events being tough (the most recent two very tough) and the current two also very tough, I can't help but feel some players will be alienated from TTs.
  • Overall this was a tough TT, with a few extremely quick times at the front spreading the field. Only 2.46% of drivers got gold.
  • Half of all drivers got no reward - I refer you back to bullet 1 above.

Drivers with gold in all TTs
The number of drivers with gold in all TTs to date dropped from 134 to 130.

As usual I've split the graphs because the high early numbers mean the later low numbers are barely legible when all the data is on one graph.

  • Real life has been getting in the way, so I've not spent as much time on TTs as I've wanted to. That shows a bit in the results.
  • My time at Autopolis of 1:23.331 left me in position 615, which was in the top 0.45%.
  • Gap to first (2.31%, so the gold streak continues) and gap to #100 (0.86%) were above my overall averages.
  • I will also not spend more time at Willow Springs; think my time should hold for gold.
  • And I'll be away on holiday from the weekend, so will miss the bulk of the Le Mans event; might get a session in before I go.
Incredible your statistical tables 🤩 but where do you take all the data to create them!
Thank you for your work anyway 🙏

Excuse my googlenglish

Le Mans TT 🥰

Tested different cars and it seems that the grannies are still on the game here. The Nissan RC92 and the Mazda 787 are damned fast on the Hunaudieres (+/-360kms/h) but less handy than the newbies Porsche 919 or Toyota GR010. Anyway, that track and the Gr.1 cars are the perfect-magic combo for me.
For now, I have a good silver at 3:30:494 but still13 days till the end.

Alright, three golds in the SF... thank you PD for the 2mil/account!

Time went down in the Nissan one. Not looking good. I need to put some time into it but these drifty road cars aren't my best.

Gr1 at LeMans with RH tires? This one could be super tough as well. I feel the top .1% will set crazy times that will leave the majority of us struggling to get within the gold. What's been the META here? 919? 787B?

I have to reluctantly concede defeat at Autopolis, been trying for the past 3-4 hours with no improvements at all.

Considering how much time I put into the effort to get to gold originally (it was A LOT) this last minute upset has kind of put me off the time trials. I already had a silver at this point last week, and could have had that without the hours and hours of grinding that followed. It just wasn’t worth it.
Have you not noticed an improvement in speed in yourself though? If yes, surely it should be worth it after all, no?

 , for me it kind of works because with a 19 old daughter running around, a wife that doesn't like the monotome sound of the engine thru the soundbar and 2 terror kittens who tear down the place...... doesnt' help for me haha

So my routine, 05:45 alarm, at 6 downstairs with a big cup of coffey.... and start racing, then most of the time i have an hour before the daughter comes down for her internship, she leaves around 7:15, then i have untill 08:00 until i have to prepare myself for work, shower + dressing in 15 minutes, grab some frozen bread and hop in the car, 08:30 at work :lol:

It's the only time i have for myself ( if the kittens are reasonably calm ) that i can truelly focus.
beside i'm kind of a morning person, 11 pm and the brain shuts down...., but maby that's because i go up early each day, kind of an addiction :lol:
I get up at 6 AM when I sleep in.. I'm usually up no later than 5:30. (This is what happens when you get old- I'm 70). Too early to turn on the surround system. I'm not a fan of headsets.

I absolutely love Group 1 cars at Le Mans. I’ve done one absolute stinker of a lap before my birthday dinner and am currently sitting in gold. This combo may be the one and only time I ever have a chance to go top 100. Stand by for waaaay too much time and effort from me over the next two weeks.

That’s the thing, some sessions I couldn’t get close to my best lap, then I unexpectedly would, but then I’d be unable to repeat it again. It all felt very random and not like genuine progress.

It’s true that I could eventually go much faster than I thought possible when I started, but with every new TT I go back to square one as all the knowledge gained is car/track specific. So spending multiple hours over multiple days to get a gold that turns out to still be silver is a hard sell.

What a fun TT.
Finally a good reason to learn the legendary track.

Surprised at my early result, but the top times are rapidly nearing the 20 mark.

I second this message (except for the chance to go top 100  )

Was hoping to do well at LeMans.... I know the track well. 3 laps in Peugeot, didn't make bronze, couple of laps in the Mazda, did, but wow, that car is twitchy! Switched to Nissan R92CP - planted, my first choice now. How those aliens are getting around in3:22 beggars belief!

Oooohhhhh.... Le Mans in Gr.1 cars! Now that's a TT I can get myself stuck into (unlike the hell that is Super Formula at Autopolis!)

Need to get back into the TT's. Been distracted by building a 787B-swapped Mazda 3 and racing that around Sardegna to build some credits back up again!

Saves choking baby, then puts down easy gold. I would expect no less from @Blayney. Seriously, glad the baby is okay!

Also, your advice about staying mostly in 3rd gear at Willow was wise. It took a few laps today before I could get used to the Z again after taking the SF23 for one last spin yesterday, but then it started to click. Holy moly this lap felt amazing!

And still it could have been better. An optimal under 15.8. Sector 3 stung a bit.

Yet after that, I still have Raikkonen and Hakkinen well ahead of me...

Ah nice I'm pleased 3rd is working well for you!

That's insane!, that must be scary as ****, glad she's ok!, couches can be replaced.
and still managed to gold it again, that's nuts

Ha and this one will definitely need replacing!

So I suck at LeMans.. on a 3:26.3 I think it was. Gold for now but not a good enough lap to make a guide from. Might take a week off as the weather is too nice in the UK to be lapping le mans all afternoon!

Finally the TT I've been waiting for, I'll definitely grind this one out.

And that's with full LeMans traffic around, imagine what it would be with a clear track all the way.

The traffic actually did help a bit. The thing is, he had to obey BoP rules to use only a certain amount of energy per lap and he did it on Medium tyres. He coasted a bit before the finish line on that record lap.

Without those restrictions, that 2017 TS050 would definitely get below even a 3:13... We got the 2016 version in the game which isn't as fast as the 2017.

I must admit, I don't understand BOP or the requirements for the online time trials, though I do know that my 'natural' pace - what I can comfortably do without much effort - is 8% behind the world's best, and my practical limit appears to be anywhere between 5.0001% and ca. 6%.

I had a go at the new TT and Le Mans with the Peugeot FAP '10 and my banker/first attempt was almost exactly 8% behind the leader (3:35.xxx), but managed to get it down to a 3:31.xxx (around 6% behind the leader)... however, that was a bit of a random selection - I think that's the car they used for the LM CE and it is very well behaved... however, the BOP seems to put it on much lower power and higher weight than the Sauber, which currently holds the #1 spot. I tried the Sauber and I can see that it is quicker (even in my incompetent hands), but it is harder to drive than the Peugeot.

I'd be interested to hear/see what people select for this and why... and also, does it really matter (with a BOP event) whether you use your own car or a rented one (presuming the tuning is fixed for that event?)...

In any case, irrespective of the time targets, taking a Gr. 1 car around LM in GT7 with a decent wheel is fabulous fun, and even though I won't be troubling any goldsmiths any time soon (or even a silversmith), I'm looking forward to giving this a shot for the next 13 days.
