First attempt at the Le Mans TT in the C9. Already 2.5 seconds faster than what I put down in the GR010. I haven't watched any other replays of the C9, so I have good feelings I can find even more time. I don't have much experience with these Group C cars, so I'm still figuring things out.

Did 5 crappy laps around Le Mans for the TT in the Toyota GR010.

Best lap could have been an improvement, if I had not taken a stupid penality at the turn before the Hunaudières...

Lap count 21.
Give the C9 some seat time! But watch a track guide first because your breaking points and such will be quite different than GR010 - but the speed you get on the straights with the Group C cars will make up for it being less agile and like double the breaking distance lol.

There’s a lot of truth in this… the corner speeds of the modern cars is impressive, but it demands a different brain calibration to the older Group C cars. I personally found those cars to be more forgiving of my “skill gap” than the modern stuff.

I don't have it. I've tried the Mazda but it is hard to drive. Maybe I'll give it another go now that I have the track fresh in my memory. The straight line speed is very different, but the handling in corners too.

I tend to get a better pace round corners (even on hards) with the MAZDA LM55 becuase I used it so much on the Road Atlanta race for a very long time so got used to circuit racing in it and grinding with it.

The Group C cars have the better straight line top speed at LE-mans, as the BOP nerfs the newer MAZDA Gr.1 car for top end. Same goes for the Porsche 919 EVO, that runs out of assisted hybrid power in like 10secs lol.

Hi all.

It happens to me that in all TTs the fastest laps are always the first ones and the last when I say to myself "ok other two laps and then stop".

And

I would like to know which devices you use.
I'm on G29.
Do Aliens use a G29? A better device make a difference?

You are able to "rent" any car that meets the requirements. No need to own every car you want to try out.

Edit: let me just clarify, even though it calls it renting, you do not pay any credits to use those cars. PD probably could have chosen a better word to use. Like "borrow".

Absolutely hated streets of willow TT, invalidated or binned most of my laps there.
Decided to end my misery after setting 1:16.643, which seemed like a safe gold at the time.
Now my cushion is minimal, but I am unwilling to return, so hoping crazy Saudi is done now.

Le Mans in group 1 though is well suited for me, I am starting to think I excel at the race cars and suck at road cars.
I had a 3:25.087 until today, waiting to see how the top time will improve.

After seeing new record today that put me a little bit out of gold I jumped back into C9. I put in about 120 km before I was able to improve into 3:24.6, but decided to keep going. A few laps later I did 3:23.960, which is P713 as of now 😎.

I've seen some of you guys posting pictures of a long sessions on TTs. In comparison, I rarely do more than one lap before restarting, especially on longer tracks like Nordschleife or Le Mans. Way too many times I experienced that seeing sizable negative delta would suddenly make me lose all of my driving skills 😂. Instead I remember what are the "good" times at different sectors, which stresses me a lot less than constanly seeing the number in the bottom of the screen.

I would also like to expand my friends leaderboard if possible, so if you do not mind, please add me.

Noticed I haven’t posted in a few days. I cant get myself to attempt the willow TT, just didn’t enjoy it - apparently I’m a minority.
Loving Sarth TT though!! I’m a ways off gold but I feel like if I can string it all together gold miiiiight be attainable. If I can trail brake correctly and consistently I’d have it. Started with LM55, then 787, then 919 hybrid and think I’ll stick with the Sauber unless gold gets out of reach. Shaved another half second this morning so down to 27 flat, just another 1.5 seconds to shave and plenty of areas to improve (optimal was like 25 flat)

I think the Willow TT is the least enjoyable one we’ve done. I tried a couple of sessions, but it’s just tedious. The track is an abomination (in both directions) and it turns driving a car that should be fun into a chore. I’ve not gone back to it and will take the silver or bronze I end up with.

Le Mans is proving more difficult than expected. I’m currently in the high 24s. The latest physics update has completely changed the way the Group C cars handle. The C9 is quick, but I haven’t quite gotten in the groove with it yet. It’s still early days and I’ve only had time for 10 laps. Still hoping to get to at least the 3:21s by next week.

I didn't watch the whole thing but one thing I noticed is the gear you use for corner is usually 1 too low...sometime even 2 gears too low. A few things can happen if you use the lower gear....it drags the car slower than it needs to. When you power out, you might loose traction. You have to do an extra gear change when exiting corner. At less that's my understanding...feel free to correct me :D

This is my lap with the C9

Thanks, @Gomario mentioned the same. Looks like its back to Sarthe tonight. I am now just .006 before I drop to bronze again. 😅

Had this posted in the GT Discord, from what I can gather it looks like this might be the next Time Trial.

Pretty fun combo, it will be a nice challenge to play around in the wet for a change. Looking forward to it.

Long time lurker in this thread, would really like to populate my friend leaderboard if possible. Global leaderboards seem far away in terms of competition. Would love to have some names to compete with internally. So if any of you guys would like to see a somewhat rare flag within your leaderboard, my PSN ID is: Boabdulrahman

Aliens are welcome too 😅
Sent!

I almost felt one with the C9 tonight. I was smoother and had far fewer track limit penalties (though I still picked up a handful over the session) than my previous attempts. Overall, the lap was very positive. Lost some time turning too late into Tetre Rouge and couldn't get back onto the gas as early as I would have liked. I'm sure I lost a couple tenths there. I also didn't get a good launch out of the final chicane to begin the lap. So, there's at least another half second on the table if not more if I keep pushing. Happy to be in the 3:22's. :)

Now if three of you (you know who you are :mischievous:) could all just go on holiday at the same time for a 2 week period during one of the time trials, that would be great.

If that is the case, we might have to drive on dry tires 🤔
