I’m officially done with Willow… hate the track. Settling for silver on a 1:16.8.

Went back to Le Mans for half an hour in the Porsche and hooked up a lap that beat my previous optimal!! Now into the top 1000 with a 3:24.2 which I’m very pleased with, and an optimal of 3:23.7. There’s still a long way to go on this TT but hoping this lap should hold up for the duration and weather the inevitable alien storm that is headed to France!!

Ending my first day at Le Mans with a 3:22.8xx with the Sauber. Not gonna be easy to put together a sub22 lap.

Btw why on earth are some of the top guys using assists? 🫣 the poor guys back in the days had no assists to help them drive these monsters.
Great result for 1st day!

(To add to your last point - They also weren't racing in front of a 2d screen on a bunch of code that's trying to simulate something akin to driving without G-forces and proper feedback from the car)

I had an 11% time on the FuguZ from my first lap logged a few days ago just to see what it was like, so did a few laps and got it down to 7.42% which will do me because wow I do not like this car and course combo, I have done this course a bit over the years but almost never in reverse and to learn so many turns...

I'll move on to the LeMans one, Tidgneys guides are good, and he claims it is an easy 2m, well surely the times are going to keep going down? or is it because it's such a high speed circuit as long as you nail the braking points it makes it easier to get a decent time within the % brackets?

Well, it took me AGES, but I finally have a silver time in the Fugu Z! I studied @Mistah_MCA lap guide and tried to piece it all together. About 45km later I finally improved my previous time of 1:18.221 down to a "safe" 1:17.6XX! I'm not fully satisfied with that though, so I'm going to give it another attempt tonight after having another look through the lap guide. Ideally I'd like to improve my percentage on this underneath 4%....

Because some aliens on my leaderboard have set some insane times i just had to get back to Willow....
I was hoping for dear life that i could annihilate @Dan_Tes his time and get into the 15's.....  but you are still save mate .. but getting close tho.... 1:16.149 for now, but my optimum is getting lower at 15.8xx still place 308 at time of driving this morning tho, so not thast bad imo!, but still haven't nailed one lap!!

Must have been the livery that i have stolen

I made some nice pics to show how much sand to take for a fast lap, but the damn PS network logged me out again and i have until this day never received an vertification mail so can't download my latest pics from the GT7 site :mischievous: :irked:
and most of the time it works again when i'm logging on on my own network, somtimes ......

1:16.149

Some facts about Group C cars at Le Mans with chicanes.
The fastest ever Group C lap around Le Mans with chicanes, in race conditions, was set by Michael Schumacher in 1991 with the Sauber C11, the lap was a 3:35.564.
The fastest qualifying lap was set by Jean-Louis Schlesser, in the other C11, with a time of 3:31.270.
(This was prior the 3.5L rule)

So far, I have achieved similar lap times of 3:26:3xx with the 919, Mazda, Sauber, and the R92, not too far off from gold.

Among the Group C cars, my favorite is the R92CP as it strikes a balance between the Sauber and Mazda. The Mazda handles poorly through the Porsche curves, while the Sauber lacks top speed. I might also give the 962c a try. Initially, I tired Kie's 919 and enjoyed its driving dynamics, but it clearly falls short on the straights.

Ideally, I would prefer an LMP car with a slightly better top speed than the 919. Any advice? :)

I'M SUCH A ****** DUNCE :banghead:
I was .4 seconds ahead of my PB.
On the mulsanne straight my only thought was "This is it. Don't eff this up Joel!"

Immediately after said thought, my brain goes: "haha fast car go BRRRR" and apparently bluescreens.

Can you guess what happened next?

I. FORGOT. TO. SHIFT. TO. FIFTH.

Optimal at least is in the 21's..

Noticed I haven’t posted in a few days. I cant get myself to attempt the willow TT, just didn’t enjoy it - apparently I’m a minority.
Loving Sarth TT though!! I’m a ways off gold but I feel like if I can string it all together gold miiiiight be attainable. If I can trail brake correctly and consistently I’d have it. Started with LM55, then 787, then 919 hybrid and think I’ll stick with the Sauber unless gold gets out of reach. Shaved another half second this morning so down to 27 flat, just another 1.5 seconds to shave and plenty of areas to improve (optimal was like 25 flat)

You summed up there well, why I do these TTs with the time spent/reward mentality. Races are seldom massively affected by a small mistake. But in TT losing a half a second or more can be a few hundred places. 🤔

I feel your pain
But nice time tho!, if i'm done with Willow i'm going back to Le Mans again!

I'm not a real Merc fan :D:lol::lol:, but this is a nice Petronas livery right there!

I feel ya. Willow hasn't clicked yet and it's no fun at all for me. Don't know if I'll get around until it's over, but silver is ok too.

Sarthe, on the other hand, did yesterday. Revisited the 962 and found my pace, letting me improve over 4 seconds, netting a rather unsafe gold. 24's should be possible for me, so I'll definitely keep at it.

Good luck on improving to you and everyone else giving their best :)

The livery was easily worth 0.5-second improvement in itself!

Played Sarthe all day and can only manage at 29.003

Can anyone help spot what I am doing wrong? 🙏🙏

I didn't watch the whole thing but one thing I noticed is the gear you use for corner is usually 1 too low...sometime even 2 gears too low. A few things can happen if you use the lower gear....it drags the car slower than it needs to. When you power out, you might loose traction. You have to do an extra gear change when exiting corner. At less that's my understanding...feel free to correct me :D

This is my lap with the C9

Didn't spend too much time at Willow Springs, maybe 2 sessions over the last week. I wasn't really pushing for gold this time, so just enough to get a good silver. I didn't realize it at the time, but my TC was still set to 4 after the Toyota race yesterday to assist with a wet track. I might have been able to do it quicker with some more slip.

Next up, I'll try out the Meta-Benz at Le Mans.

I'm solidly into the 3:26's for the LeMans TT with my Sauber C9. Also did a few laps with my Nissan R92CP and I'm confused as to why I can't do better than a 3:28. The Nissan's straight line speed is massively better than the Sauber (and maybe everything else?) and it feels just as good through the corners, so I'm really wondering here. I have many others LMPs/Group C's in my garage, but haven't tried any others yet.

Fantastic, even if you're 1 second faster than me on Willow and 0.6 on Le Mans  Nice job!!
Right back at you, Willow is a nightmare, I thought I had it when I got 1.18:220, but oh boy how disappointed I was when I saw it was not enough, the 3 first corners are important, cut as much of the track you can to keep the speed on to the straight, I don't have any advice for the La Sarthe, just drive it like you stole it. :)

I really like both two current TTs. I think I have safe gold on both. With busy life I need to split the time I have to play between two TTs and while I was P750 on Willow when I got my time, I was wondering if I would pursuit chase for some better position? But now we have Le Man 24 and I like it and I ran another session today and I see there is good time already, but also time for improvement. I mean my conclusion is that when we had one TT for two weeks there were a bit more time at least for me to get those numbers down. Let's hope I find time now again to get some better placement since I think it looks like it's possible and I really like the challenge.
