Several hours of dealing with a mental block later and I finally got the time I should've got yesterday. High .7 is doable but that would be too insane for me

Been a minute since we've had a Yank at the top of the leaderboards.....well done! Hope it stays there.

This is another one of those TTs where the delta between the top 20 is literally a second. Crazy how quickly the times drop off...

Speaking of which, still in gold by a whopping .012". I will, unfortunately, be visiting this one again.

Decent times are possible with a controller. Even with X and square for gas and brake. But I've mentioned a few times that, yes, I am a bit crazy when it comes to some things. I'd never put a ton of time into time trials in previous iterations of the game (GT Academy TT's years ago notwithstanding). Then again, we've never had time trials had quite like the ones in GT7. Global standings to compare your times against and also the competition in this thread. You have to put in the miles to be at the tippy-top.

You want to see an insanely quick controller player? Look at the Greek dude in the top 10. He's here in this thread.

Was in general the TT with the Ferrari easier than the Maserati and the Corvette? I don't know why I got gold with the Ferrari at Monza quickly and instead the other two at Laguna Seca and Mount Panorama are a real pain. Maybe I lack some set of skills that are needed more for the latter.

Man I wish I had like one more day for Monza. I gained 2 seconds this afternoon playing in between adulting. It's such a fun track and car once you understand the flow. It's frustrating. Then it isn't and it just happens. This car is like riding a motorcycle. Gentle coercion. That's what's worked for me anyway. The less you try and drive and the more you just flow, it works! Anyway. Fun times and I'm down to 1:48:650. I could go faster for certain. If I had the time.

All you folks who gold every time, hats off to you. It's a commitment for me to stay that sharp.

Well, I think I'm gonna have to close it here at Monza. I did 2 separate sessions. I just couldn't find the right tune to this TT. The first chicane is a beast b/c if you go off bounds while turning, the lap is void.

See, I did about 2-3 hours of fierce grinding and driving through the track with this beastly car and I was finally able to get in the top 1'48.000's. So what do you all think of that. I really wish I could have had more patience to get to gold. But I'm gonna let it go. 1M is better than nothing.

Greek dude? Where... I'd like to see his replays.

That would be @jontikis here on GTP, aka Willful-Underdog on PSN. He doesn't post much, last being mid August, but his times are nuts for a controller player.
So, how were my videos? Well I'm going to start working on the Laguna Seca TT, it won't get done on it's own. I gotta put more work in than what I'm doing. (Post:1000)

Are you on Discord or not? I go there maybe 3-4 times a week, it varies from month to month.

For sure, since Mistah_MCA mentioned in his guide video here that he was too lazy to pull his rig out and just did the challenge on controller and he still managed to best my controller PB by nearly 1.5 seconds.

Sorry, I didn't have time to look at your replays as I've been getting ready for bed. Being in silver at Monza is a great feat. Good luck pushing for gold at Laguna!

And no, I am not on Discord.
Oh, well that's okay. Sleep is more important, I'm getting ready to go to bed in a few minutes as well. I have a doctor appointment Friday at 2pm, so I need to stay on schedule for tomorrow.

Laguna Seca is annoying me. My US time is still gold but it’s getting close. There is less than one tenth of a second gap now.

My GB account fell into Silver at +3.18%. I just spent two hours driving round in circles and the only thing that happened is that I got angry with that horrid Vette. Surely there is no way a real car would drive like that. I swear that PD has it out for any car that is not Japanese. GM should sue Sony/PD for misrepresentation.

Anyway, I could not get within .3s of my prior best. Felt like the track was covered in butter. Most laps were .5 to 1 second off my PB and in good laps .3 to .5 off. Not the extra .2 I need to get gold again.

I’m going to ignore this one for now and hopefully I’ll remember to come back to it hours before it finishes and then hit it again.

In the end I took my anger out in the daily race and got a podium (2nd) and CRB on daily B. That was a good way to get over Vette frustrations.

Well, I did 5-6 laps and I got my time down to 1'37.311, so I'm 5 hundredths of a second below bronze, so I'm gonna have to do way more work in order to get a better time here. This car is hard to turn, the first U-turn always slows me down, and the turn after the (Mother's Canyon) banner can mess up my run too. The corkscrew is a nightmare. This will not be an easy stroll at the park. I'm going to bed, good night y'all! :)

Just watch some replays and Mistah_MCA's guide, you can get gold without the gearbox sausing.
it takes some time to find the way it drives, but Laguna isn't the easiest one, lots of hit or mis corners what cost you a lot of exitspeed if you mess up, good luck!

Agreed, you can gold with normal gearbox treatment...

At least you could, I haven't checked whether I'm still in gold territory after Doodle's most recent efforts.

Edit: Just checked, still in gold by .074 seconds. (Nobody tell @EbrahimX7 )

I've been away and haven't had chance to try this one yet, been watching replays ready for when I'm back.

I think I was in silver on Monza at the weekend so not sure where I ended that either.

I think I'm going to leave new TTs a few days before attempting them as comments start of as them being easy to gold and then the aliens invade 😂
