Thanks for the kind words. And: yeah I did share it :)
I will be chasing you down on my next session then 😁

Ahhh, I can't believe it...
I managed to improve a bit again, but damn does it feel bad. I completely ****ed up sector 2.
It's all the more annoying that I still managed a 2:20.708.
That currently puts me in the top 10, which is a huge achievement for me, but it could have been a 2:20.5xx.

I don't know if I have the strength to repeat that again. It cost me a few nerves.

Ran a few laps last night in the RX8… this car is an enigma and sometimes the tenths just fall away - could really use an LSD. Struggled to either get a clean lap or something under 2:23 and then 💥- found 2 tenths on my prior PB and close the gap to optimals (22.1xx) with a 2:22.421 and move into the top 400! Still in 399th this morning, but I know there’s still a lot of people to start this event and a lot of time for folks to improve, so not getting too excited. That said, I’m looking forward to the next event already - had enough of invalidated laps for silly reasons, clipping bollards and that chicane 😂

Edited for a small but important typo 😂 - thanks @Jeje6410 !!

2'21'421 !!!!!😲😲😲 it's more like 2'22'421!!!! or you too become an alien 👽👽🤣🤣

Did a 20 laps practice session focusing what I had preached....take my time and sort out the entry and let the exit be the result of my entry. I wasn't aiming for fastest lap, so I was't doing qualifying pace at all....more like race pace for 20 laps.

Seems to be a good reasult, as my pace was slowly getting faster and faster and I wasn't intentionally upping the pace.

I was going to go for another 10 qualifying laps but my shoulder hurted like hell (landed funny when snowboarding last week and made it worse playing badminton today 🫠) I guess I'm calling it a day until my shoulder brace arrive from Amazon tomorrow.
Haven't been on since last Wednesday and I was just out of town working a crazy week of nights and I somehow managed to pinch a nerve or pull a muscle in my neck/shoulder area as well. I'm going to try and use the wheel a little later but I'm not sure I'll even be able for a few days. It's totally bumming me out.

Also - my kid teaches skiing at Jackson Hole and it's snowing so much so fast that the last 3 days she couldn't get over the pass to even get to work. I can't wait to see pictures once she is able to actually get to the mountain!

/Sidetrack 😂

10 more laps at TM. 7 out of 10 in red and only 2 in the 55s... Not very good.

Progession so far at this TT (7 sessions of 10 laps) :

TT at Trial Moutain.png

Tried 3 more laps at NBGP with the RX8, went into the 1:29s, lot of work yet to hope for a silver. Not the type of car I enjoy the must.

Another day of good progress at TM today. A longer stint, but it was kind of opposite from yesterday. I had a really good S1, ok S2 and relatively weak S3.

I feel like I'm pretty close to a miracle lap, so I think I will push on. But I think now that I've broken into the 1:51's I'm at least safe in the Top 1000.

Finally got Gold at Trial Mountain. Was stuck at about 1:54 flat for quite a while. Slowly creeping up till I was about 2 tenths off Gold. Then finally found pace through the initial wiggly curves and pretty much every corner up till the back straight and improved to around a low 1:53. Done with this thing. Will probably attempt Nürburgring GP tomorrow I guess.

Unfortunately had to skip about a week worth of posts again but always a joy to come back to this thread.

10 laps in. My first lap (oddly enough) was my fastest until I found the groove. There is so much time here I don't even know where to start gathering. I will probably not attempt more today and let my shoulder rest. I'm going hunting at the mountain before that one is over and I want to feel well enough to do it.

Great time mate 👍 Surely time for you to move on to the RX-8 isn’t it??!!!???!!! :scared:

Edit to commemorate 3000 posts on GTPlanet over the last 13+ years, and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate (unless it’s with winning one of these things which is never going to happen  ) with the essence of what makes this place so fun… great competition with like minded friends, with a healthy dose of laughs thrown in. Race on friends!!

This was easy... too easy. I can save a lot of time and if I want to keep gold I feel like I'm going to be running this again. VR alone should help me a lot, this was on a flat screen. 2.23:952, best for my first real push laps, still experimenting a lot though. There's lots of time to be made up pretty much everywhere, but it's sooo easy to lose momentum. Need to watch more alien laps.

Thanks for the PSN friend adds @Dolph Drago, @P-Courty, and @half_sourly! Nice to finally have a semi-populated friends leaderboard for the TTs.

A real struggle session at Trial Mountain tonight, spent about two hours and didn’t improve my time at all. Problem areas are definitely the first few corners and the final corner - the rest I’m easily on pace with the Top 600 ghost that I’ve been following. Fingers crossed I figure those out!

Keep on chugging them times with TOM's SUpra.....!
Congrats! That is an amazing lap time. I use the also Classic Esso-livery but might change to reach the gold zone. First goal is passed (@Pesselles), now I want to get sub-54 and maybe finally reach the yellow metal... It is still fun for me and preferable to the RX-8. Have a good start into the new week everyone!

What dramatically improved my time at trial mountain was to just go through the first corners like a madman with no regards to track limits in the first two apexes. If I didnt touch the curbs with my inside wheels I did 200 kph rather than 220 and wasnt able to get a tight enough line around t2. I was way too hesitant at first.

Ooooffff....last corner (sorta) again. Could've done the entry better. There should be another 10th between the 2nd sector and the last corner together.

This is how close I was to invalidate the lap. The darn thing was between the fender flares

Noticed the progression on the board, nice lap mate!, and man that is close to the bollard..something i failed big at this morning:banghead:
I wanted to do a long session so was early with the alarm clock but a soon as i beeped the PS5 the kittens were on Turbo Zoomy.... i think it took an hour for them to settle down and man i was frustrated, didn't hit a thing in the mean time..... yeah... bollards...... two of them...., the invicible one and the chicane one....
Only at the end of my session i crawled to my old time, i did one invalid 21.800 flat, and a whole bunch of high 8xx and a few .9xx's
But the magic didn't happen and i'm still way to inconsistent in taking the chicane in an optimal way due to not beeing sure where my exact brakepoint is...
S1 one a weird one too, i think my old PB lap had a .385 on it, but was happy if i had a .5xx this morning,

So i did made progression, .... in frustration

Well done mate, i'm getting the feeling this one goes your way

I have the most difficulty with Turn 1 in that sequence. Even when I feel like I'm in, nope. Red lap.

Turn 2 on the other hand, off in the dirt all the time and I think for sure I'm out. Nope, guess I was in by a pixel.

Turn 3, you can really throw it around there. So long as some part of your car hits the apex, I think you can make it stick. Miss it though, and you understeer into the grass. Red lap!

Actually not too bad of a lap. There are a couple places you can stay with 3rd.

The tight right turn before the hairpin. You can enter in 2nd if you need to rotation, but definitely exit in 3rd.

The last corner also is a 3rd gear for the entire thing.

The right sweeper before the chicane...don't need to brake that hard. Just drag the brakes slightly to lose up the rear for rotation is enough.

Should be a fairly easy 1 second right there.

If you still have trouble, try to spend 80% of the effort for turn-in and the apex. If your entry is done right, the corner exit is just an after thought. If you have to fight the car during exit, then you had done something wrong during the entry.
I did some more laps yesterday following your comments. Didn't go for the lap, however I had a bit of improvement in my ideal
1705306011174.png

Turn 7: yes it's definetly better in 3°, it also helps stay in 3° otherwise I brake too much
Turn 16: yes, definetly 3°, even if it's still one of the most misterious one for me. Nailing it is quite difficult.
Turn 12: some sort of some comment than T16, but a bit better.
Turn 3-4-5 is real mistery. I still don't do it twice in the same way and don't understand the track limits of the right hander inside and right hander eixt outside
Turn 11: I still have to measure it. I tent to go wide compromising the handling of the car for T12

I don't see this as easy as Tidgney states, at least for me, but it's still very fun to drive

Getting a bit fed up with this TT due to the track limit/lap invalidation logic. Anyone else feel like the track limits on the inside of turn 3 are busted? Several times now I've had my lap time invalidated for going on the inside too much, but I'm 99% sure in all of those cases I had at least 2 wheels within the white lines. Then on the outside of 4 you can just run wide, hitting the bollard at the final chicane invalidates the next lap for no reason...

[...] hitting the bollard at the final chicane invalidates the next lap for no reason...
I agree it's annoying and should be changed, but I think the logic is as simple as this: any invalidation that happens in the segment from where a new session starts up until the start line invalidates the following lap. Now you could argue that the session should start after the chicane, but I actually prefer it like it is because that way you can practice the chicane without having to go for a whole lap.

Definitely agree on T3, track limits make no sense there.

Hi, you're on Pesselles's mobile because I can't reply you right now.
If you're German, don't leave a message, I won't call you back.
Never.

PS: great job my friend, I'll have a look at your replay later (but I need to take some Prozac first).

As things turned out, I wasn't able to return to Spa with the 4C.......... 😢

but I was consoled by Thrusmaster.....they were offering a 100€ discount on the TGT2 with T3PA crankset at Christmas.....so at 700€....

but, with my T300RS GTE, I already have a better crankset since I bought the T-LCM crankset a year ago.......

ah if they'd offered just the servo + flywheel at 600€, I'd have taken it........

and, as if they'd heard me, last week they offered the servo + flywheel pack for €560........ I jumped on it........😂😂
I'm at the top of the Thrusmaster range, I think........

after getting used to it for two days, I went back to TM to check out the GT500's mood.....

with the 1st of my 3 accounts, it took me 363 kms to get the gold....and barely......1'53.507 for 554 (for now).....not sure it will last another 2 days.....🤔🤔

while I was hot, I quickly tried again with the 2nd count: 1' 53" 314......in 85 kms.....(yes, my old neurons understand quickly, but they have to ride for a long time.....)😂😂

quickly, the 3rd count: 1' 53" 285......voilà!!! 3 gold medals....content the boy......😂😂😎

has the TGT2 helped me?....a little......it's true that I use a little more FFB and that it remains constant compared with the T300RS.....
but I'm a bit disappointed with the TGT and I'm going to open a topic to talk about it.....😕

now it's time for the NurGP and the RX-8......but first, I need to finish a few "permits"....:gtpflag:
