And after several TTs your silver gang becomes the Gold Gang !!!! 🤣🤣🤣

I did some more laps yesterday following your comments. Didn't go for the lap, however I had a bit of improvement in my ideal

Turn 7: yes it's definetly better in 3°, it also helps stay in 3° otherwise I brake too much
Turn 16: yes, definetly 3°, even if it's still one of the most misterious one for me. Nailing it is quite difficult.
Turn 12: some sort of some comment than T16, but a bit better.
Turn 3-4-5 is real mistery. I still don't do it twice in the same way and don't understand the track limits of the right hander inside and right hander eixt outside
Turn 11: I still have to measure it. I tent to go wide compromising the handling of the car for T12

I don't see this as easy as Tidgney states, at least for me, but it's still very fun to drive
I just want to applaud your post for including the track map when discussing corners. Helps a ton since not everyone is a racing savant that can rattle off every Nordschleife corner backwards.

And off course Nürburgring GP is notorious for their sponsored corner names which change every couple of years.

One of the beautiful things about these TTs is that the skills needed to master them do not really degrade with age. Like, I could never compete in an online shooter because my reflexes just aren't comparable to a teenager (I'm in my forties). But reflexes aren't as important here as much as patience and accuracy.
The mental skills may not degrade with age (or maybe they do), but the physical skills (i.e. ability to move your body parts) most certainly do (at least for me). It takes me about ten minutes with some type of muscle rub to get even close to being able to tackling turns 1/2/3 at the Trial Mountain TT at a reasonable pace. Then again, I am on the high side of 65. YMMV

Another 10 laps at TM, without much hope, but I managed to improve both my best lap, my medium and my optimal, win-win !

Like a moron, I wanted to save the replay to share with you, to see if you can spot where I could gain a bit, but I exited a bit too quickly and it was too late to share the replay

TT at Trial Moutain2.png

80 laps in, probably the TT on which I invested the most time.

No new PB at TM today. I was very close at Lap 14 but lost the rear end on the very last turn. I pushed on hoping to have another opportunity but it wouldn't materialize.

My optimal lap, however, is looking quite nice.

I hope you both do and don't hit your optimal. For reasons. 😂😂🍻🍻🍻

Did a little better with the Wankel today. Still some time there for me. Not sure how much I want to wring out of it, though.

Those optimal splits are looking very tasty @GlockPants - if you manage to hook that up then I’ve got nothing for you (in fact if you beat me by 0.001 then I’m tapping out )

I don’t plan on going back to TM and I’m unlikely to run the RX8 again (keeping my fingers crossed that the new event will be a good one).

I can at least say I'm still enjoying the TM trial. I find the combo very satisfying, in spite of the slowing progress. If I can get within one or two tenths, I'll be satisfied. But I'm still quite pleased with what I've done so far, if that new PB doesn't happen.

I don't consider myself a competitive person, and I'm certainly not gunning to beat anybody but myself. @Carlos Fandango @330_D , you're both great motivators to keep me pushing through to the final day.

I guess this means you'll have the advantage on the RX-8 since I'll only have 5 days to work on it!

Unexpected improvement in Germany.
I new a 25 was in me, but I wasn't expecting a 2.24.911

Looking at it I see that I'm not really trailbraking the way I think/feel I am while I the car. There is a huge area to explore there, even though I don't know where to start from

Oooh man....that could've been a low 24s or even 23s. Braked a bit too late for turn one and way too late for the hairpin 🫠

For turn one, just hit the brake as soon as you reach the black patch to the left. You can do it half way into the patch but it will be really tight.

For hairpin, as soon as you feel the front left wheel hit the curb on the left...hit the brake. That's your brake reference.

Yeah.... so this sums up my 1 hour morning session .....
I have not giving up on it, it just doesn't happen

i think of all the laps i did this morning the majority was sub 22 so i did made some progression on that, had a few mid 8xx's and fewer invalid mid 7xx's..., and then this one.... invalid .681 where i was SURE i didn't cut the first part of the chicane......

Let's raise some money for glasses for Kaz :mischievous:

good.....I don't know if you've been warned, but NurGP will be closing for 2 days.......☹️☹️😫

in fact, after my 2 sessions yesterday, I received an e-mail this morning to inform me of the closure: they have to collect all the plastic and carbon that I've sown all over the place, replace about a hundred meters of guardrail and evacuate the RX-8 corpses that are dying in the gravel bins and along the circuit....🤪🤪😜

Mazda also asked me to calm down: they can't produce as many cars as I break.....😫😫😂

they're nice, but I'm still 1" away from the gold medal and its 2 million, I've only got one with the silver medal......if they'll give me the 2nd, fine, I'll stop here.....😂😂😂🤣🤣:gtpflag:

so, when I got to the last chicane seeing my very small PB ghost in the mirror I had that mixture of adrenaline and fear of screwing it up that stiffened my arms 😅

As for the hairpin, I think I find I'm better off doing a V trajectory rather than hugging the hairpin. That, and the fact that my trailbrake sucks is leading me to look for a slightly deeper braking point. If I brake at usual point I brake too much and lose in exit speed. If I overshoot it happens like in the replay. Will try to go back to the original refernce and work on the trail brake

So....

Let's talk about the Nurb' GP.
I've started this morning by a training session with the AMG GT3 and it was productive :

After this "little" victory, I've decided to give another GO to the TT with the RX-8. And to maximise the chances to improve my score, I've applied my secret livery to the Mazda (sorry I can't share the details here as some Germans could cheat and copy).

The training and the livery were super efficient - and also the famous @Evilmuffin 's method on the final turn - I've gained more than 0.8 secs on my previous PB:

Now, my new objective is to score 2:24.011 or below. No objection @Wilsonson ?

As usual, the replay - named "Gut but not yet alles gut" - is available in your news feed in game. Let me know if it's helpful @EbrahimX7 :D

And speaking about the people-who-live-on-the-other-side-of-the-Rhein, I found another evidence of their very questionable activities on GT7. Take a look at the Laguna Seca CE 3rd sector leaderboard...

Olala, it is called "un Tour d'or" in your side. That sounds nice! Congrats!

(Here comes a secret advice regarding secret liveries: Do not publish pictures of that car!) 🤫

Regarding the CE-times it is no surprise as all Germans behave the same, in "Gleichschritt". We did even achieve identical lap times in a time trial recently!
