Damn, I just saw the top drivers replay at TM, idk how he got through that turn so quick before the tunnel. I have got to pull myself away from GTS for a while and get back to work at TM. See I am almost at silver, but now I am not certain about gold, that may be too brutal for me this time.

Lol, the alien invasion has begun, let's get our ammo ready! I do believe the Supra was a good car to drive on TM, I like this combo. It does not slide or lose control much when making turns.

Jokes aside, that was hard work, but very fun as always on Trial Mountain
The lap was very good with my personal best sector 1 of 30.890 - the frequency of hitting all 3 first apexes is like 1 in 10 for me.
Not optimal tunnel 2 entry (ran wide past the middle line), but the exit on to the backstraight was one of my best and it felt soooo good.
Blew it a little in the last chicane as I missed the ideal 1st apex hug and from there only damage limitation, easily lost a tenth there.

I will ofcourse try again on the last day, but not getting the hopes up as it's already very tight and making any improvement from there is tough.
The optimal as always looks good, but I'd be more than satisfied getting back that tenth I lost in the chicane...

:gtpflag:

Kudos to you, how'd you pull it off?

Well today I was finally able to make an improvement at TM. It took almost my entire 30 laps stint, but I was putting down pretty decent sectors, just not together.

I still think I'll give it another go tomorrow. We'll see what happens then.

And sorry, @Carlos Fandango ...

@330_D you're safe for now. But a wild @Dan_Tes has appeared! I'm sure he'll knock us down on the final days!
Don't be sorry dude - epic job!! Congrats 👏

Meh....I had so many low 21.6s with sub-optimal sector time here and there. Optimal dropped to 2:21.43. Current PB was a good 0.15 slower than my best at the end of 3rd sector before the chicane 🫠

You are on fire mate, and you are back in the top 100 😁😁 well done!
I did spend about 30 minutes this morning due to the arriving of the building contractor who is replacing my central heating unit so didn't have that much time, but the first few laps looked very promising

Ran a few laps after those and had my best sector 2 time ever but stuffed it up before I was even at the chicane.....so again very good splits but poor execution of sticking them together.

Did find time and stole a few places from 160 to 135, so glad with a little progression after a gazillion miles without it knowing it's in there.

Into the .7xx, tomorrow I'll put in one last session I guess....I am a one week man.. 🤪🤣🤣

If I look at my lap I think i can make a second, to bad it doesn't work that way 🤣🤣

And so it seems black and yellow is faster 🤪🤣🤣

I really like this combo and gave it one last try. Even my optimum lap was outside of gold territory so I called it a day and went back to Silverado... What's next? View attachment 1319936View attachment 1319937
A 53.3 optimum is gold. Keep pushing. You can do it. There is some crazy amount of time to be had once the initial wiggle and the corner before the back straight click.

Greetings, alien from the land of tulips, windmills and Klocks. Your mothership seems to have dropped you off at the wrong track. Impressive time nonetheless :)

Edit: or maybe this is proof that the aliens don't actually visit us, but run the TTs in a simulation on their holodeck. Maybe even utilizing immersive future tech such as PS5s or even VR.

:lol::lol::lol: that's hilarious

You are very right there! , I always thought it was called Nurenberg GP layout, but indeed seems to be "Nurburgring Grand Prix track...., now i have to set a new time to make a new video :lol:

Thanks mate! :)

Lol, that was funny. It's should be called Nurb. Alien Grand Prix Track meaning the aliens and pros set numerous records there and they keep it all a secret from us. I have less than a day to step it up at TM, I need at least silver there.

A lot of people not native to Germany (and even some Germans) get those two confused all the time. Godspeed on improving your lap - I'm sure you got this :)

I'll remember it from now on :) 👌👍, and i don't know about that just yet......, this timedrop from .833 to .755 took me probl. about a 800km's all together or so, i am going to try but certainly no garanties :lol:

With you on this. I did this TT early on and thought it would be a solid silver for me but could only set a time of just over 2 minutes! I tried and tried but couldn’t improve, ran out of time and had to leave it. Didn’t play for a few days and looked at it again just now. Coming down the stretch up to the final chicane I glanced down and saw the letters IM over the tyre indicator 😮 NOOOOO! A quick change to RH and now I have a time just outside silver, but have I got time to get there?

That must have been a real struggle

Hello everyone, this is my first post, I have been sim racing for about two months now. For the Trial Mountain challenge the best I have been able to do is 1.53.554. I was working on it last night and I just cold not cut it down anymore. I really wanted to knock off the last ".467" before I spent all my time on the Nürburgring. I currently have a solid silver on the Nürburgring RX8 TT, but I think that is going to be where I stay. I have a Logitech G29 and pedals I can feel the wheel locking in certain turns, and the brake is no good. Please don't misunderstand anything I know that I need a ton of practice, this is way harder than I thought...LOL (NE-Carp)

Hello and welcome.
I'm not the guy who you want to ask for help, but just to give my 2 cents about wheel lock.... Are you running without ABS? People here much more informed than me says that it's the very last assist you should remove, and it's basically for aliens. I'd put it to weak

Welcome to GTplanet, good choise :)
Practise makes perfect, and with all the uploads from bronze up to Mega laps close to the World records there is enough to learn!

:):)

Hopefully this evening I'll have a pre-dinner session. I'm not setting any objective for the time, but I'd like to put some more consciusness on the trail braking and the hairpin section.
I will also try telemetry for the first time, 50% for fun, to see how it looks, 50% to get some info

I think mine is set to "Default" I will make sure I change that as soon as I get off of work. It may sound bad, but I probably spend an unhealthy amount of time on GT7 for someone my age.. (Old guy here) ...LOL

Old is relative around here. I'm 45. Def not old in this place either. 😂
LOL.. I only got you by a few years, and you are totally right.. as long as my reaction time isn't horrible I should be ok..
Does the GT DD Pro make a difference and actually help, I mean it's basically $1000 for all the up grades. I mean whatever it takes to help. I'm not afraid to put in the time, but if equipment matters...

Definitely leave ABS on default.
It's not the most realistic, but definitely the fastest. Even the World Tour drivers have ABS on default.
Regarding the steering wheel I would say it makes a small difference, maybe you can feel a slide faster but there are enough top drivers with junk hardware. A Loadcell brake on the other hand will definitely make you faster. That would be the first thing on the upgrade list.

Thank you I will work on trying to figure out how to get a load cell pedal and go from there. I will also leave it on "default" I have heard both ways.

It does and it doesn't. I have a G923 which is similar to the G29 you have. Just set force feedback to the highest setting. Trust me....2nm of torque really isn't much. As far as abs setting, default is fine, can set to weak once you are used to it. As for other assist, I have them all off....it is entirely up to you, but off will be faster.

For now, if you want to be faster, should focus more on racing techniques, such as trail braking, racing line, using the entire width of the track, how to induce under(over) steer at will, etc. These will get your lap time down much faster than a $1000 worth of hardware.

Now having said that, a direct drive wheel and a good set of pedals are a lot more fun. I'm still waiting for my logitect g pro (had to return and exchange because of issue)....so if you just want to have fun, go for it....ooh...and psvr2 too :D

I also have a G29. I read in other topics about lowering the FF to avoid clipping and that doing so makes more un-clipped info coming through the wheel better.

Now, I may blindly trust you, because you always are full of meaningful feedback for all of us, but would kindly ask to elaborate a bit on this sentence, particullary what the hands would feel with the different settings. Thanks
