Nice!, you did set a descent lap there immediately mate!, I have very mixed feeling about the trial mountain combo, I know it's an iconic combination but indeed the GT500 on hards isn't the best, I did struggle quite a lot to learn how to get the power down at the right place, but my problem seems to be that I have way more fun driving it on the edge and over it, but that's the slowest way to get it around 🤣, but as I became a one week man I didn't toutch it anymore....

I'll pick the RX-8 on the GP track any day over the GT500, man that combo is fun, but so much time to stuff up 🤣🤣

I'm sure you'll hit that 21.5 in no time!
Yeah I had some epic sliding moments but trying to catch it on a wheel is a skill i don’t fully possess 😂 had a go with the RX-8, god it’s nice to have something that almost feels like a real road car just that slightly rubbish sports hard tyre compound letting the side down! Fair to say I smashed my goal in the end after an absolute monster first sector, I’d have loved to have kept going with this one but hey ho a very decent time indeed and what a satisfying combo when you get a good lap 😎

That PB was just 1,000th of a second faster than @Boabdulrahman (such an evil thing to happen, my sincere apologies..!) Which I thought was an impossibly fast time just 48 hours ago 🤪.

Nice to see you back Dan, leaderboard looked a bit empty ;)
Thank you sir I’ve been keeping track of your progress over the last few weeks, you’ve been doing great!!

Another 6 laps tonight with the RX8, only 3 though without destroying track limits. Although sometimes I’m well into sector 2 before my timer turns red. Anyway I did manage to find another tenth. 😀 so good in that regard.

I find it difficult to get into a groove here and then others everything flows. I have a 23.4 optimum. I’ll have to throw some more laps at it.

Nice times everyone.

Gave the RX-8 a go around the Nurburgring last night and managed a 2:21.815 after about 70km. Currently placed 171st which is surprising given I'm 2 seconds off gold. Definitely still a tenth or 2 left in the lap, particularly in the final chicane and turn 3/4.

Was having problems carrying momentum through the chicane without the back end stepping out over the first kerb.
Turn 3/4 is very difficult to get the car rotated without losing too much speed as well as maintaining traction on the exit. Not entirely sure how to kick the car into a slide on the entry of turn 3 under braking to get that ideal entry rotation.

Not sure if I'll keep chipping away with the RX-8, likely depend on how I feel about the next trial.

I remember seeing a list of the upcoming time trials, but can't seem to find it. Anyone have it?
Nothing to report from Pacific time US. But where people look is here?

I'm not sure if earlier time zones get updates sooner. I'm not sure what URL might bring up an earlier zone. But the last 3 were visible weeks earlier than normal.

I was naive to think that the PB I clocked a week ago was enough for 2nd on the GTP leaderboard. Was thinking on jumping in yesterday to improve it a bit, but went against it as I was still 2nd. Safe to say it was a wrong decision...:banghead:
Currently at work so can't do anything about it

  i had 10 minutes to try the new one before i had to go to work...... i think i have never driven this layout??...
there isn't one corner in it that i am formilliar with  i did manage to complete a lap eventually :lol:
so for me, this is going to be a learning the track trial, glad it isn't very long :lol:

But, fun to drive, lots of oversteer as expected but made myself a feisty little yello Spoon bastard...
(def going to decal that on the side  )

Very curious of the lap quides for this, cause i have NO idea were to start :lol:

Pretty much said everything in vid description.. Whew! Only thing I'll add is that it would be cool if PD left these time trials up. Imagine having all the past time trials to go back and try again at any time. Also it would be cool if they had separate leader boards for the daily race qualifying time trials just like these separate time trials. And they could treat them the same with prized for gold, etc.. Or would that be too many? Maybe.

Fun time trial! Had to relearn everything for PSVR2, especially because it's a right-hand drive car. I did finally start getting a good feel for the car after about an hour in VR but was still dubious about the location of the left side of my car. Also was messing around with wheel rotation which I ended up setting at auto. You have to be very precise with this car and track combo, it seems like each little mistake you make costs a lot of time. Also No DELTA time in VR sucks. And not being able to check your brake pedal throw doesn't help anything either, I'm still usually faster in VR though.

Best flat screen time: 1:53:251
Best PSVR2 time: 1:52:430

That first corner of this lap killed it, I slowed down too much, still ended up being my best lap across all sessions. I caught and passed that ghost on 1st, 2nd and 3rd sectors in other sessions. I think I could get a mid 1:51 if I spent more time but I had to go out and run snowblower for three hours in 9F (-12.7C) weather, -6F (-14.4C) wind chill and didn't feel like driving after that! I still miss the OG Trial Mountain but this a good track too.

 i'll probably do a little session on remote this evening, most of the time the evenings are watching series on Prime etc on the big screen and i'm forced to remote, some trials are very doable that way and some not due to the input lag, but for learning that track it's def. good enough! ( achieving gold too )

@ikon_313 about that Nokia setup :lol:, the real Nokia-setup is gone now, but i did some fair amount of apex pixel gambling on a 144hz laptop....... with a PS4 Slim that had 720p output and a internet connextion that was worse than......yeah....

Now i am on PS5 it's a different story with a descent 1080 output on remote, it's always good enough for achieving gold, but the real pushlaps are always faster on big screen for me! that 120fps is a totally different way of playing :)

we will see what we can achieve tonight :)

🤔 Hmmm when I pick 120hz , resolution drops, so I rather go 60fps 4K than 120 fps, my choice looks much better on my LG TV

In before @half_sourly's detailed stats:

View attachment 1320328

The Trial Mountain TT beat the previous most popular event by a healthy margin. Overall I find it quite remarkable how consistently high engagement with these events is, almost two years after the game was released.
Wow...181 K people... I think just Movie RBR one had more, 250 K.... Interesting...

mmmmm..... i havent experimented with al the settings between the PS5 and the TV to be honest, i just bought a fast TV and selected 120hz output on the PS5, and i looks damn good, you tell me there is something better?? :) :)

* i looked at some Youtube things and i think i see what you mean, seems to be sharper at 60 fps on the video's, i'm going to take a look how my settings are now, framerate or resolution, i have no idea

In the force feedbacl setting I have both max torque and sensitivity at max (10). I also have true force set at its default setting in G-hub.

As far as what your hand can feel...with so little force....not a whole lot! But the steering does feel lighter (you do have to pay attention to it or you might not feel it at all) when you start to understeer....and true force should be shaking your wheel and being very loud about it.

As for the other assist like counter steer and stability control, you don't feel it in the wheel. However, you will feel the car is a lot less willing to rotate, especially during the corner entry phase. Well...that's what these assist do....to keep you from spinning. The problem is if you are rotating less during the entry, you will have to rotate the car more at some point. So you either have to slow down more at the apex so you can turn the car to have a proper exit....or you sail pass the apex waiting for the car to slow down and turn....both kill your exit speed.
Thank you,
so you are telling me that with the setting you propose for the G29, although some clipping might happen, the feedback is a bit more robust, and therefore more "predisposed" to be heard, whereas with my setting I might not suffer from clipping, but what comes back is so "low volume" that it is much harder to hear in all its details.
In contrast, with a pro steering wheel the response in addition to being more detailed (direct drive) also has a higher "volume" for the power of the engine and therefore more audible.

Very interesting.... I had set the steering wheel this way from the beginning because the clipping thing upset me conceptually. Now that I have a little more experience and with your explanation in mind I think it might be worthwhile to do some testing and maybe find a new standard for my subjectivity

Thanks!!!

Banked the Cr. 1.000.000 from TM and like many others great players here, I've jumped on a plane to go to Italy to the Lago Maggiore.

Honestly, the combo is fun, the track is fast, the lap is super short (less than 1:30), and the car is pretty fast but not dangerous. And this TT is perfect for everyone.
Of course, I've applied my special livery to the car to gain precious tens.

To be honest, my firsts laps (1.31.x) were very hesitant but quickly, I found a good rhythm and started to lower to 1:30.769.

Then, I've added Mister @Tidgney 's ghost (the reference, for me) and scored a first 1:30.557 and finally, a very promising 1:30.141.
After this first morning session, I'm only 0.3 sec away from gold (0.5 would be better and safer). Now, I'll watch carefully Tidgney's video and see if he can help me to gain these last tens.

Have fun everyone!

Haven't played much recently, but put in a few laps at Trial Mountain last night to improve my lap last minute. After setting a 1:53.100 and securing gold early on, my personal goal was to at least break into the 52's. At first it was really difficult to match my old PB until it started to flow after 20 laps or so. Then I was quite a bit surprised how low the Optimal Lap got and finally settled for a 1:52.319 as I got increasingly tired and inconsistent. Funny how I set out to beat 53's and for a short while almost grasped the idea of going into the 51's. All in all, this was a very challenging but fun combo.

Meanwhile the other day @NGP: silver but gold but silver.
