Finally one I feel pretty good about.

I think I have some time left if I have any actual time to put into it.

I shared a replay in the showcase. You can search for me (Turbobinder) or search GTP Gtplanet tags it you want it for a ghost. No tcs. CSA weak. Seems there are many ways to make this car fast depending on driving style. It's a lot of fun. And frustration. 😂

Day 3 at Fuji. Likely my last as I have achieved my goal of 2% for an Ultra Safe Gold.

I went in knowing I needed a 1:32.5xx for this. My previous optimal laps were good, so I intended to do a long stint until I got it.

I didn't expect it to take 35 laps. To be honest, after Lap 20 or so, I didn't feel like I was making any progress. But I was able to focus hard for a final push.

3rd sector wasn't that great on the lap, but I'm struggling with doing it perfect consistently. And the final turn is probably where I'd say I lose the most time.

Thank you very much my friend.
Yes, I still think I can improve this time (at least I hope) because indeed at turn 5 I bite a little into the grass and it shifts the car. So my turn is wider.
Afterwards I tried without TC (as usual) but on this TT I couldn't do it, particularly between turn 11 and Panasonic Corner. And when I finish the lap without incident I am slower. Maybe out of fear that the car will crash !!!!
My optimal time is close to 1'32'6xx (today it was 1'32'8xx), and that was with TC at 1, so if I can be consistent I think I'll get there.
This Fuji circuit is a beautiful circuit but very hard to be consistent and clean throughout the circuit, especially in sector 3 where the slightest mistake causes you to lose many hundredths.
I have seen your trick several times and frankly hats off. It's a clear, clean and fast ride. It's more and more difficult to be at your level
Bravo mon ami :bowdown::bowdown::cheers:.
Yes it's a frustrating one, but your doing very well!, T2 is just a lotery, it's like hitting it 1 out of 100 time epicly good, if I do I get a significant gain on Kaj, but always stuffed it up somewhere else....
I had somany 4xx today it wasn't even funny anymore...and finally a invalid .247 (I believe ) on the white stripe exit mainstraight.... I could cry...🤣🤣

It's just another car that wants to kill me ...
And a combo that want to kill my controller 🤣🤣

keep up the good work, you became very fast!, un ami rapide! 🙏

I like the GT-One a lot! That turbo... When it kicks.... "Kiss chef"

So, another round and again another gain. From 34.121 down to 34.025.

I'd like to believe I'm starting to put the puzzle pieces together.

What is your best time at Fuji so far. I'm almost at bronze territory, 1'39.894. I just didn't drive fast enough to make it over the line.

I am at 32.329 there is still a lot to gain but I'm also having a hard time here and placed 597 so have to be faster but somany difficult corners here, it's just not my track and I am faster in the roadcars 😁🤣

You always have to start somewhere Chris, just build it up, follow ghosts and take it step by step, you got this!

First work to that bronze!

Good luck!

Hi,

"I'd like to believe I'm starting to put the puzzle pieces together."....

I have the exact same feeling here! Having spent a small fortune on upgrading everything here. I really do feel like I am making progress now. Brake pressure and release rate. Throttle on and off rates / timings. What a fantastic day I have had here!

I have been on and off GT7 this afternoon. Now at 1:33:1xx with an optimal of 1:32:8xx. The puzzle is being solved for sure.

Very best regards to all here.

Ian.

I think I'm gonna have to lower my expectations a bit, because high 32's look out of my reach. Managed to get 0.3s better time, with promising 0.6 advantage at the end of s2 over my best ghost only to lose everything in last sector. Inconsistent one at the moment.
I like my populated leaderboard, what I don't like is my position :D

Looks like someone's got a lead foot.
Well in most cases not really, but this combo just doesn't sit well with me. I really try to manage the throttle, but if I'm too gentle, I just lose time, and the car is very strangely bopped, so much understeer, so much turbo lag, when it comes to boost it just tries to kill you, and every single turn on this track just invites you to spin it...

Glad that you are killing it with the new setup. Awesome to see!!!

Appealing for a bit of help with my lap, I need some fresh eyes to point out which corners I can do better to gain the most time in.

I know I messed up the penultimate corner, had to turn out of it to avoid the bollard, but other than that?

Reference ghost is V.Gallo offset by 2 tenths. I've uploaded my replay under GTP tags if anyone thinks my 32.360 as a reference could be useful.

As I went for a 2nd TT sunday session, I (finally!) got under the 34s. This time I improved from 34:025 down to 33:612.

Maybe it was the blue livery 😂

My first post related to this TT I had a 34:7. Crazy to think I have found a bit over a whole second.

Anything can happen from now on. But I'll rest my eyes and hands for now.

Looks pretty good to me! Nice lap! Are you on a wheel? It sounded to me like you might have been putting slightly too much steering input in at the long right hander (100R) but it’s hard to tell, could be a bit tighter but I could hear a bit of tyre squeal. If you are on a wheel play with your steering input/throttle control and maybe you’ll find a bit of time but it’s all in the last sector where you are losing out.

It’s all pretty clean but yeah getting it turned in for Netz is tough, it’s very hard to get explain how to go quicker round there it’s all bit touchy feely; I would brake slightly later after the kerb ends on the left, in a straight line and get the car slow, then turn in a bit later and sharper and get on the power as early as you can after you ride the kerb.

I think you are losing the most time on the final corner, it’s really tricky. I stay wider out left, break reasonably early and in a straight line then get it turned in quite sharply and start getting on the throttle before the apex; only 75-80% and feed into 100% as you pass the apex into the final straight. I spin out a lot there but high exit speed makes you loads of time and it’s what separates a good lap from a great one. You seemed far too tight which was tidy but you ended up with a sharper radius of turn and a much lower exit speed; you’re then losing time all the way down that massive straight.

This a screen grab from my fastest lap so far, I didn’t get the perfect exit but I was 4mph up on you by the end of the exit kerb, we both got down to the same cornering speed I was just way wider and got on the power earlier.

Here’s your lowest apex speed; much tighter but a tighter line on exit meant you couldn’t get on the power as quickly (without maximum bravery at least 🤣)

Really good lap though and even a better entry into Netz will get you another hundredth of a second

No real laps for me today, hoping to get stuck in tomorrow and get into the 1:31 club 👽😂

I’d done a bit over 60 miles at Fuji and only found a few thousands. I threw it back on track for the “one more go” and bang! I was just focusing on a sub :33 and there were 0 laps that showed that as optimal. So now the new goal is low :32 or better. You can achieve it. Now go get it! Good times

Yesterday I was sitting at 1.34.7xx at Fuji. In my mind, I had given up, I thought it was impossible to shave 1.2 seconds.

Fast forward to today, where slowly slowly I shaved time. 1.34.2, 1.33.8, 1.33.5 and finally after lots of attempts 1.33.4 to get into gold. My opt was 1.33.1xx though, so I did a few more laps and dropped it to 1.33.2xx. I hope it is enough for Gold.

The GT-One behaves more or less like GT2! It fishtails the same exact way as I remember. Also, you destroy your hands to turn it! My hands are a little numb atm...!

Ran a stint yesterday and managed to Gold the Tri-Oval with the Chapparal without too much trouble.

Which is good, because it let me move on to Fuji and the GT-One. Ran a stint yesterday and got into high silver territory, and then came back today and ran another stint and got a decent time in Gold.

I know I'm losing a lot of time out there, probably pushing too much. I think mid-high 1:32s should be doable, and there should be enough time to give that a decent try.

That was some cool exit out of the last bend and I managed once or twice even cooler one so deffo I'll be trying this.
Optimal looks even cooler but I guess some best sectors were done while infringing track limits.

There's at least 0.020 there if everything goes smooth enough.
Top 50 of the leaderboard is very provisional now, but I'm setting my sights a bit higher now ;)

Thank you for taking the time to write out such a comprehensive reply :) I will give these a go tomorrow and hopefully net an improvement! I think I was initially doing the final turn far too wide but now I've started doing it too tight, the right line must be in there somewhere :D

It is one of my trickiest corners and I don't have any references for braking points/turning points, I can also be faulted for trying to 'bank' a decent lap and going quite conservative through there. Perhaps that's why I slowed up too early for Netz too.(TIL that it's called that) Bigger cojones required

31 is also the aim/dream for me but it might be just a tenth too far, it feels like my optimal would be around a 32.1, but we shall see.

Edit to add that I am on a wheel* :)

Changed the livery and dropped from a .658 to a .615. It's not much, but it's some progress.
I have a tenth in me but it's no easy task considering the final sector is straight out from hell 🙈

You my friend are totally into the 2,s. You are flying, moving the time down, all of the momentum is there.

Man, this gold is gonna be real tough, Fuji is a track you have to fully learn and master. I did gold all sections and the full lap in the circuit experience, so I am familiar with all the turns and corners.

EDIT: I just purchased one in the legend dealership, it cost me 2.5M credits. Thankfully I had about 7 million saved up from the campaign mode events, license, CE and other TT rewards, etc.
