Well, with my time secure at Fuji,i spent the weekend going around in circles, did so many,a couple times i forgot which corner i was in,had a perfect line going, ahead of the ghost, heart started pumping and then i realized i was in turn one 🥺,i did manage a .003 improvement, still a few days left 🐇

As I went for a 2nd TT sunday session, I (finally!) got under the 34s. This time I improved from 34:025 down to 33:612.

Maybe it was the blue livery 😂

My first post related to this TT I had a 34:7. Crazy to think I have found a bit over a whole second.

Anything can happen from now on. But I'll rest my eyes and hands for now.

Great time friend,

I've just improved my by 0.310s and now PB is 1:33.642

Last night I changed my driving suit, now I'm flying :D

Again a few frustrating laps at Fuji....
No PB but was damn close again....
Ran about 20 laps or so but then my hands were done, I just can't do this one with a loose grip on the controller, no idea why ....
Must be the boostyness 🤣

It's in there, slower OPT then yesterday but did hit the .3's again....

That said......I thought I was on to a good position on the board, but the placement says it all....... only 9th 🙈🤣🤣

I'm proud of my lap on pad without tcs and csa etc.....but it just isn't enough 🤣🤣🤣

We will meet again 🙈

Gave Fuji a go yesterday, spend 3 sighter laps with the 'hire' car to get used to it.

I added my livery to mine and jumped back in but after around 10 laps I was at 1:33.552 which was still out of gold.

I wasn't feeling the car, seemed like something wasn't right, so I changed my steering settings again and put all 3 to 10 (fyi @Barareklam).

I managed to get into gold after somewhere around 120 miles but missed a fair few apexs so it isn't safe.

I carried on a bit longer to try and improve but I just couldn't pull it together, it feels like the car turns much better on lap 1 and then after that it seems to lose grip somehow, each of my best laps were after a restart and then I would go wide at turn 3 or spin out of turn 1 on lap 2.

Also I was trying to improve because I am 0.2xx up on a 1:32.644 going into sector 2 until I hit turn 6 and lose around half a second in that turn alone. Sector 3 isn't too bad.

Going to try again and see if I can get a safe gold.

Replay uploaded with #gtp as normal.

I'm not going to have a ton of time to throw at this one. My session yesterday morning was the one I needed. I was able to lap long enough to find that groove. I'm not sure there is a lot left here for me. Maybe, though. You were faster than me until this session. I think you'll beat me before it's done.

Somehow the GT-One de-clicked with me. 😅 My current gold is 1:33:2xx but after 120 km today i can't get better than 1:33:9xx, so weird. Been switching assists to see if it makes a difference. But whenever i turn TCS lower than 2 it slips away from me all the time. I tried counter steer off, weak and strong and found weak to be the best. But that last sector is killing me every time, especially the last corner. The ghost just blasts off in the distance 🤔

Will try another day and hope to at least get into the 32 club :-)

I improved after 47 miles this morning but messed up 😭

I have uploaded the replay.

I was ahead of my previous times but put power down too early on the chicane and snaked a bit losing time, I then missed my gear change on the main straight from 3rd to 4th 🤦🏻‍♂️ although it was actually my 2nd sector that was worst 😂

I did this with TC1 which it has been all the way through but I did try with TC0 and ASM on instead as I improved at RBR with that setup but it didn't make any difference.

Will try to see if I’m able to get into gold at Fuji today, am about 1.4 seconds away at the moment but haven’t really tried it yet.
Sorry to interrupt you but I see you're from Sweden with a 911 on your avatar.
Is your Porsche licenced "CKK 511" by any chance?

Good luck with Fuji!!

Good session for me yesterday evening.
I was somehow stuck repeating 34.8 times over and over , than I went for a quick race there with the radical, saw things that I didn't see with the tt faster car, came back on the tt and found a 33.7 in an handful of laps.

I'm not sure if it came out of luck or what, will see what next sessions will bring to me

Good luck with Fuji!!

Haha, Sagas Porsche is nice and I love that Olive green color. That Porsche was sold by the production company at the Bonhams auction at Goodwood in 2018 for 125000 GBP. Quite high for a 1977 911S.

My 911 in the avatar starts with a C as well, so close enough!

And thanks, will need all the luck 🙂

Tack for the infos about Saga's Porsche!

I'm not sure if I'm alone in this but I find it very very difficult to be consistent lap to lap. I can throw the hammer down in the individual sectors but putting them all together in one lap is really tough to do lap after lap. It's a very complex track. The camber and the multiple corners with dips and rises right in the middle or near the middle of the apexes, usually off camber as well make it hard. I found that a little throttle earlier than the apex just to maintain speed through corner, then get straight as quickly as possible. I feel it's best making triangle corners. All stop, quick turn, throttle hard. It's hard because this things is long and turns in slow. It slows very very quickly if you only brake in a straight line though. I think I was turning in too much on the brakes initially. Maybe I'm wrong here but I found time squaring the tougher corners and I really don't trail brake through them. I'm usually totally off the brakes mid corner. I dunno if this will help anyone or if it's confusing but hopefully there is something in there that helps. This one isn't as easy as it would seem.

Wow, that is actually my middle name! 😉

Its really hit or miss for me on this one. Well, mostly miss I guess. Really struggle with the last sector, that always seem to destroy a good laptime in the making.

Managed to cut my time slightly to 1:34.7, with an optimum at 1:34.1 but still a looong way to gold. I might just be satisfied with the silver and try harder next round. Maybe…

At the moment turn 6 "Hairpin" is my weak spot. I begin to get Coca Cola (turn 3) right, which allowed me to gain a good chunk.

And of course the last turn where I feel blind, and I'd love to be able to look at the apex while turning, on which VR must be very helpful and natural.

I had a decent amount of time this weekend. This one is time consuming and I feel that I need a ton of time to get into the groove. It takes an endless amount of laps to start seeing some improvement. Hoping to return, time dependent. If not, I achieved my target so I am more than pleased.

100% agree, this one is alot more difficult than it seems.

i find lapping consistently with this one difficult as stringing all my best sectors into one power lap is a pretty tall order.
Interesting thing you mentioned about the braking. I will try this this the next time I have a go.

I dunno if I worded it right. I guess it depends on the corner. Each one seems it takes a little different approach and also uses similar technique. I had a couple really fast sectors blipping the throttle like Senna used to do. It was a trick I used back in the day with the old school pad before we had dual sense controllers. The hairpin in the middle and the chicane after that section both like a very smooth line but most of the rest of the third sector are best for me squared off and getting pointed in the exit direction as quickly as possible. I generally keep with the ghost very well right until the last left before the final corner. Occasionally I'll get that right but I make up my third sector time through the esses mostly.

Totally a weird track at this BOP level with this car. Fun for sure but it's a difficult puzzle.

I know all the time trials are about precise throttle control but this one takes it to a different level. You can get through it sloppily and make a gold time but the way to be fast for me is all about that right foot accuracy and revving this thing to the moon.

I do very much enjoy this one even though it takes so much time to gain ground.

Edit for one more little trick I like. I try and be very gentle on throttle over the curbs. Slight lift like 30 percent especially right after the chicane when you get closer to that bollard at the exit. I generally gain on my delta there with much less than full throttle. Ymmv but lighter throttle on curbs seems to pull just as hard with less drama.

I have added your replay to my collection and will take a closer look. Your approach on this one is way different to me.
I need to try the squaring off and pointing in exit direction method of yours.

I loose alot of time in Coca-Cola Corner (turn 3). I can never get that right. So my sector 2 time suffers as well.

It's a good thing the Toyota is a nice drive and sounds so good, it's the one thing that keeps me wanting to do lap after lap, even with no gains.

Thank you for sharing your insight and lap/corner breakdown. These tips are valuable and always appreciated.

I always try and share these little things I find. Others who do the same really help me. I know everyone has a different style and way of being fast so anything that's a little different from the norm could be useful to someone. That whole idea that it takes a village to raise a kid applies here. 👍👍🔥🔥🔥

Since none of my friends play GT7, my friends-list is a bit… empty. Would be fun to compare times to others in time trials, CE:s and licence tests. Nowadays I’m usually in gold/silver territory.

Feel free to add mr_wurst on PSN if you like, I will probably soon go on a adding-spree so don’t be alarmed if you find me in your friend-request list. And I wont take it personally if you dont accept it 🙂
