💩 session

I hate Fuji too...was hoping for Suzuka..maybe in another life...
I'm not quick at all (aged 63, slowwwwwww ....), but for some reason I do OK at Fuji, despite sector 3 having a reputation. A bad one.

I managed a 1.33.270, and feel a 1.32 is within reach. I usually struggle with TTs.

Incidentally; I was just sinking a few White Russians in the Lebowski bar just this Sunday night gone 🤣🤣 dooo dooo dooo…

Another 20 minute session at Fuji, I’m not going to lie I do quite enjoy this one; when you get dialled in the Toyota is a bit of a pussycat and I’m all here for it!! Trials like this are where the wheel comes into it’s own and the detail you get back is rather lovely and really helps get that confidence in getting the power down. It is also one of those trials where partial/near full throttle really pays dividends, I actually love the last sector as it’s so technical with very few braking/turning points to bank on it’s all down to feel

Sorry to interrupt you but I see you're from Sweden with a 911 on your avatar.
Is your Porsche licenced "CKK 511" by any chance?

Good luck with Fuji!!
The Bridge. Great series!

Tonight, my right hand hurts but I'm very satisfy about the skills I've learnt myself.
👀
Guys, stupid question....

I'm not downshifting to 1st at T1 and The Dunlop. Am I losing time? 🤔
No that's completely fine, but shift up to 2nd when hitting the apex T1 so you can go full blast on the power.

For Dunlop, I'm using 1st delicately all the way through until the exit bollard but I've seen Tidgney advocating for 2nd after the initial turn in so just use whichever you feel more comfortable with.

But definitely 1st on entry to help initial rotation.

A question I asked myself a lot. The answer; depends on your entry. If you need a tad more rotation for full confident acceleration through the corner, quick downshifting to 1 and upshift 2 needed imo. T1 I usually use 1st, Dunlop I stay 2nd. And also I was downshifting to 1st in the last corner before. Staying 2nd provided at least half a tenth for me.

I'm curious what will the faster guys comment on this.

Thanks @BeRSeRKeR_TR and @Chrome_PuPXD for the inputs.

T1 I think I have enough rotation, sometimes I even hit the bollard there and get redflagged right away. But still I was wondering about it.

Dunlop I feel like I have to babysit the car so much and pay attention to the throttle, that adding the 1st gear to the mix would be too much for my skills to handle.

But on the other hand I feel slow (safe) but slow at the beginning of this S3 and this damn right and left complex. Hence the question.

Please guys, feel free to drop any words you may have about it.

Totally agree with the above. It's a fluid target. You can enter in either first or second. No matter what you just need to get it right on exit.

Getting myself closer to the optimal. My split is much less this session. That was not even a lap where I felt like I was pushing hard. Funny how that goes.

Made a few passes today chopping 2 and a half tenths off the previous time :P
Feels like the 31 is actually possible now.
I really need to look at the times you guys are putting down before accepting these friend requests. I'm lucky to keep it in the top 10 of just my friends list now!

No improvement at Fuji for me today. The best was a couple hundredths off my best with a very high 32.5. I got my optimal into the 32.3's but can't put a whole lap together. Either I have a very good 1st and 2nd sector, only to completely blow sector 3 (usually having a slow-as-molasses final turn), or I pull out a miracle in the 3rd sector but only after a very average sector 1 and 2. Annoying.

I noticed in this thread that most of the Titans are hard TT chunkys. Got a bit scared. I like these guys. So I immediately ran to the wheel to do a few laps on Fuji so the Titans wouldn't kick me out. Also learned that you have to prove your results with a screenshot.

Chunkys or junkies?
No problem, I think it’s one of those ones where the best line for you is just trial and error but me waffling might just might help.. definitely a bit tight on that last corner if you can get a compromise between your old line and that posted line you’ll be golden.

Oh absolutely, I think this is the biggest factor in sector 3; I completely forgot just how blind it all was and how on a TV you basically just had to turn and hope and it felt like an age before that final apex appeared on the screen (if it appeared 👀). With VR it’s still difficult to find a consistent break and turning point but the extra visibility you get with the headset allows you to be much more consistent with your exit line.

Quick session this morning got me into the 1:31s whoop whoop 🎉 🥳. I feel like there is still time to be made as I explore the limits of grip on exit so maybe a solid 1:31.6xx is possible. What a lovely car this is 🫣😁
It sure is a lovely car. All the time trials should use it from now on.

Put some laps in with the TS020 around Fuji over the Easter weekend. This combination reminds me of my dislike for this track, especially sector 3. My current best is a 1:32.220 which places me 518th currently.

Looks like a highly competitive trial this time but the top times are really unbelievable. The issue I'm having is trying to get the turbo spooled without breaking traction mid corner which the aliens seem to be excellent at doing, might need to start employing the Senna technique on the throttle 🤔

I'm aiming for a sub 32 which isn't too far away and I think with some more practise will be achievable. Optimum isn't even a sub 32 yet but I can feel that lap is there if I nail everything.

I know..... it's not even funny..... my .329 is good for a 10th spot on my own board
We are dropping down fast mate :lol:....we old product now

I can't believe it's already April. Will there be another Olympic TT? Remember the Deep Forest one where PD doubled the prize money for each medal you earned.

I'm 11-12 pages behind here, trying to read every single post, xD.
That happens so fast here. I try to check it often but sometimes you can't and then you have A LOT of reading to do 😂

I mean you could just skip to the last page but then you would miss the improvements some people here make.

I personally enjoy reading post from someone who struggles with a given TT and in the next post they improved and in the next they improved again. The energy you can almost "feel" from these posts it's contagious and kinda gives me the motivation to try and improve my time.. Kinda hard to explain and maybe sounds a bit strange but before I joined here I did maybe 5 laps in a TT and if it was just bronze then ok.

Now I watch replays, load ghost, read tipps from fast players and run 100 laps and try to find a better and quicker line. Not always successful but 4 golden ones so far for me. 2 months ago gold would be miles away 🙈

Folks, here I am again.... Lol

Can you guys take a look at my lap? I'm really having a hard time trying to find out what should I do to find more speed. Specially S3.

I have shared my lap at the GT7' in game page.
I use my psn name as a hashtag on everything I share. #blacksky37

Thanks a bunch in advance.

Hej,
as you were writing about me I did send you an invitation via PSN (as 'apaul3133"). The only time I had that fun with any GranTurismo was GT5 learning drifting.

This TT community and the ultimate leaderboard make me return again and again - to this game and this thread. There is a lot of nonsense humour I like and the same amount von support and help I could ask for.
Cheers everyone! 🍷
