Alright friends! Top 50 it is! One more session and I set a few new personal bests, including 12 laps without any invalidated laps… what a trial this was, what a car! The way it feels on the wheel is just chefs kiss

I think my theoretical max was around 1:31 dead but you have to give up somewhere; my PB lap started with a slow sector 1 but was pretty solid from there.

And for one fleeting moment I was top of my friends leaderboard, just praying that @djolliea is asleep already 💀💀💀

Even if he comes back to destroy my hopes and dreams I’m pleased with that one. Looking forward to Road Atlanta in the skeleton, great track and might be a lot of fun (tyre dependant, it’s not sports hards is it? PLEASE TELL ME ITS NOT SPORTS HARDS)

Super well done, @Dan_Tes! That is one hell of a good time.

As touched upon already, yours truly isn’t a great fan of Fuji due to the post-Tilke design, in use since 2005. The 1987-2004 layout (which is the one the actual Toyota GT-One raced on at the 1999 Le Mans Fuji 1000KM) would’ve been seriously cool and proper to have and do the TT on. But yeah... we can dream.

As such Fuji isn’t really a track I spend any prolonged time on at all, if I can help it, only when “forced” to, like this time. For me this was probably around what I could achieve here, gotta say I’m pleased with that lap. Competition was quite fierce in this TT! Shame to just about miss out on a top 100 but oh well.

So of course I set my best lap with a dreadful first sector. Go figure. I was consistently in the 20.0's, only to run a .18 on that occasion. :banghead: Total pickup from yesterday after another 200 miles? .012 seconds. Optimal? Again, .3's. PD then kicked me in the nuts while I was down. Over 400 miles run at Fuji over my final two sessions, and my rewards were a 3 star 5,000cr and 4 star 10,000cr. Awesome...

Getting back in town tonight after a long and busy vacation to find a new home for a move in 2 months and managed to squeeze in a camping trip to watch the solar eclipse.

Ready to get back into it and hopefully the time off hasn't dulled my skills to handle the McLaren at Suzuka.

Looking forward to the KTM at RA!

Was too close for comfort with a 2.97% after today's battle for P1.
Addeded a little safety buffer. I hope this is safe. I despise this time trial.

Yes I remember a post here from @EbrahimX7 who said that he was into the 1:36.5’s and that he thought a 1:36.3xx might be possible.

I’m going to have to attack this a lot to maintain a gold time. I’ve already been dropped today with the 39.617 I currently have.

He will push for a 1:36.3xx. Has a week to do so.
Only means that we will all have to lower our times even further to be safe.
This Suzuka TT is just a pain. I get no enjoyment from it at all.
Only reason I will return to it is to maintain gold.
It will be a shame to drop into silver with a few hours left to go right at the end.

Keep at it, you are capable of getting and keeping that gold. Goodluck!

@Dan_Tes Epic Time in the Fuji event.
Congrats 👏 👏 👏
Edit: It's sports softs with the KTM.

Just a symbolic improvement at the beginning of the session today.
Just 3 hundredths.

There was potential for something more, but at this level every little off meant no cigar for me.
And sector 3 was brutal today, very low ratio of success.

Nevertheless I'm happy with this laptime!
Crazy skill 🔥. I will never stop wondering how tf you can be so fast with D Pad and buttons for brake and throttle.. Gotta be a 👽

🤔😂

Well I've give it my all, I did about 120 laps over a 2-day period, and still no luck. My best optimals were 1'36.475, 1'36.887 and 1'36.584. I'll take bronze, I cannot waste anymore time, my dinner sat out an hour because I was sidetracked with Fuji. I'm utterly disappointed. I can't believe it.

I paid attention to @Gomario JSP's replay of 1'32.329 and I understood what to do but still came out short. It's not how I wanted it to end. It is what it is, I can't go back to a week ago.

Love the sound of this new TT, much more my cup of tea (yes @Pesselles, we all look like this in Britain).

I'm glad you're enjoying your tea, mate!
At least, Brits are enjoying something... :D

This combo is also much more my "glass of Champagne" (yes, we are a bit more refined on this side of the French channel).
See you on the leaderboard, best of luck :dopey:

So I logged on last night for a last minute attempt at Fuji, feeling fairly below par with exhaustion and a headache. Put in 8 or 9 laps and ended with a 1:34 flat. Very annoyingly I was less than a tenth off one of my mates I'm trying to beat, so I tried another 3 laps, but couldn't match or better my previous time, so I bailed out and went to bed (at 8:30pm!). Happy it was a solid silver, but annoyed I didn't get more time on it. I think I was around 28,000th, which is my second week in a row finishing near the 30k mark. Far from my best effort!!

The results for TT72 are over here.

I will update the opening post with the index of TTs and the second post with the community leader boards.

Interim Results for TT73 at Suzuka Circuit in the McLaren Ultimate VGT.

Lots of time to gain tho, it slides quite a lot!
But that's just what we like 😁🤣

@Chris30 don't beat yourself up on Fuji, like I said, your lap looked good, far better than previous timetrials, you did good mate! And Fuji was NOT the easiest combo 💪💪

So after we got interim statistics on Suzuka with Mclaren VGT from legendary @half_sourly I checked numbers Wheel vs Controller and as I suspected noticeable difference compared to Dino TT where it was 50-50, now on Suzuka Gold is Wheel 75% and controller 25% from our leaderboard and people who have gold at the moment.

( In numbers we are 63 on wheel and 32 on controller half time on Suzuka, and out of those numbers 27 on wheel have current gold and only 9 on controller are in gold range as we speak)

Well I'm ready to fight Suzuka! I'm gonna buy a Mclaren VGT and then choose a fiery fast livery for it. I've only got 7 days but that should be enough time for me to score a good lap. Oh my, 1134HP, this might be an intense ride. I saw most of my friends scores and they are well under 1'40.000. So I better buckle up!

I have to brace my fear and just have faith. What section are you all having trouble with the most?

The bit between the start line and finish line is particularly tough 🤷🏻‍♂️

EDIT: who am I kidding, I struggle to get to the start line most laps!!

Hello girls & boys, I'm back :sly:

It's Thursday and I'm thursty...;)

The new TT in Atlanta is much more my "Glass of 🍾" and I'm a bit familiar with the X-Bow as we used it a month ago in The Clash Of Titans .

As I'm on a mission to get my 17th gold reward (not in a x-row) on an American circuit, I've picked a livery for this objective...

That machine is visually very graphic and very fun to drive.
The Atlanta track is quite perfect for the KTM.

After only 3rd complete lap, I'm already in silver (I guess it should hold) :dopey:

1712827326063.png

Sector 1: 33.088 - Some tenths are waiting for me (@Tidgney is just 1 sec quicker here )

Sector 2: 31.906 - I'm fine with this sector, for now

Sector 3: 21.684 - Some tenths are also on the table

My ghost is available from the leaderboard if you want to chase it.

Happy lapping everyone
