Hi,

Ohh I am stoked tonight. Dropped my time to a 1:12:31x at Tsukuba in the, delightful, Civic.

The best bit? It has all started to make sense to me now. The "data" that I am now getting from my rig is being converted into better lap times. Brakes. Throttle and Steering inputs are being co-ordinated by my, befuddled and aged, brain.

As it stands tonight, I am 2/10ths in front of my tutor and mentor on here. While I am sure he will respond by beating my time at the end of this TT. This is quite a moment for me, being 2/10ths in front rather than 4/10ths behind!!!

Very very very pleased here.

Best regards to all here.

Ian.

PS - Even the wifey person and my dogs seem pleased for me. Blimey!!!

Final stint at the Nordschleife.
Had great fun as always and improved my time to a 7.38.8, with another second on the table, but that is always the case with nords.

I'll leave the video below. And since it's the first time posting gameplay I appreciate any input you guys might wanna leave.

Good luck to everyone still grinding away in the 993. No more sessions for me since the weekend on this one, and looks like my time has held up well (sitting in 300th as I type). Events like this are utterly compelling and immersive and I've thoroughly enjoyed it, even if my ratio of mileage driven vs. clean laps is at a record low  Haven't tried the Civic yet, but looking forward to the update tonight and the next event. Volvo 240 at Le Mans?

2 hrs of Nordschleife and 3 valid laps....7:36.9s and 2 7:37.2s. Very annoyed that I fubared 2 very good laps at the mini carousel and the left hander before the Dottinger straight. Binned one and lose more than a second on the other (one of the 37.2s). I guess it is what it is....perfect lap don't exist 🫠

I should be more satisfied since it's a good time but it's a story of unfulfilled potential and as such, feels bitter. Especially when it was a combo I really enjoyed. Had pace for a high 33, really should've done a 34 but end on a 7'35.594, just improving a tenth on my first time. It was a clear 34 but like an absolute clown I turn in too early and bounce on the kerb exiting out on the Döttinger Höhe (back straight, ~6'40 in), out of all possible places to fail.

Such situations just completely drain you of your energy as well. Rough ****. Couldn't get myself the amount of time I ought to have given myself for this TT. Work and other stupid life **** in the way, taking up too much time and energy.

Not so graceful in defeat as I strive to be but it's tough with great opportunities missed. Threw away a few hours of sleep with no return (on invest) which I'll sorely regret come that awful morning alarm in a while...

Anyway, very well done again @Dan_Tes, you're certainly delivering some high quality times as of late. And I completely agree with you about the next one, Civic at Tsukuba sounds terrible. Will be another boring low effort TT.

Impressed also by @Dolph Drago here. Your time is certainly quicker than I expected from you here, and I mean that in the nicest of ways, as I'm sure you understand. Seeing nice improvements from you. Well done, man.

I just can't even believe my time here. Three days ago I couldn't get to silver. I worked hard in the little time I've had and this is the result. Not wicked. But pretty darn good for me here. I did not know this track well at all. It's always been my kryptonite. I rarely made it through the first sector clean, much less fast. I figured it all out on my own as well. Not a single guide. I did watch a few of the videos you guys in here posted but that was it. Helped a little with technique but not the slightest in brake points or little tricks. I'm pretty proud of this one. CSA really makes this car a different animal for me. I wish there was time for me to figure out how to drive without. I feel I would find a lot more. Maybe.

@Gogga if I had another half hour I'd have gotten you! Right in there, as always.

Glad I got my banker gold lap in the other day! Never got a chance to go back. I kinda wish this TT was in the middle of winter LOL, I'm so busy in the Spring. I feel like I could have done a 7:40.xxx or even a little better with another session. Fun while it lasted anyways!

Last stint on nurb last night. Managed 2 valid laps, 0,5s improvement. Then totally trashed in stupid ways some 5 laps where I was like 2s faster, I'm totally out of focus lately. Couldn't gold that, but I'm happy with what I managed and learned. I'm definitely faster around nurb than I was 2 weeks ago, still a lot to learn next time around here :)

I tried to run this with CSA. It made the car acting twitchy for me. Decided to turn it off :)

Well that's me done with the Ring for now. Just squeezed in 2 lunch-time laps and cut just over a second off my PB.
I was very pleased with the lap - felt smooth! - but obviously nowhere near quick enough!
Still pretty sure bronze is safe now with 8.82% away from leader.

It's still beyond me how people can get around here so quickly, no matter how many replays I watch!

Here's to the next one.....

Thank you! Really the Nurb is one of my stronger tracks because I'm one of those crazies who loves every inch of it. :P I see you put in your usual last minute top 100 lap, no problemo. Nice job!

I got home from vacation earlier this evening so did get a chance to put in one more stint before the TT ended. I was a little tired since I haven't had a chance to sleep in my own bed since Friday and also hadn't run a lap since that day, and it showed. I was only able to complete two valid laps, and they were a second off my best at high 37's. I really wish I could have had more time to dedicate to it. A low 36 would have been easily achievable, maybe even a 35 if I hit everything right.

And goodness! 7 pages of posts I had to go through to get here. This thread always moves so quickly! I couldn't get signed in under my username on my laptop I took on the trip. I'm going sleep in tomorrow either put in some laps at Tsukuba or start on the new TT. I'm curious what it'll be.

Challenge accepted, but only once I work out the Porsche ;)

I am expecting it all to click for you very soon at the Nurb and then you will be way up there on my leaderboard.
Excellent mate!!!

I knew I had to work out the Porsche before I left.
Once you get your rhythm, you start to fly!

How fitting. How appropriate. I actually drove this car around the Red Bull Ring last week.

My brother is going to enjoy this one after I called his time in the Bugatti Veyron Group 4 "impossible". Not gonna happen this time though sunny boy. The gloves are coming off.
