Just pipped @Gorefast yet again!!! arggh Lets go!

Hey Zee, I'm going to add you in a little while. I have some good news. I did two more laps at Barcelona. The first improvement was a 1'51.104 and then after the second lap I shaved off another second of time. I'm now at a 1'50.079! I will upload my video to Youtube. This time it has sound. I had the TV on mute. I turned the volume up this time.

Unfortunately I had less seat time than wanted in Lago Maggiore and returned yesterday for a second and already last stint over 15 laps. So I went this time with the herd and chose the Lamborghini, too.

PB before was 2:08:0xx and I wasn't too happy with the first lap being 2:09:xxx... But every lap I could improve one corner or sector and thanks to the ghost of @Saargasm I could see where I gained and lost some time.

To keep this short I ended up there:

I had the goal of a sub-07 lap time at the beginning and was very happy as I reached this. In deed I was so hyped that I forgot to save (and share) this lap and that's a pity. On the other hand I was proud to see myself being close to @MUC76 and just didn't pass because I didn't want to hurt your feelings, mate! 😂

Now let's see what's coming up next. Hopefully I don't have to go Goodwood track that looks boring but is quite difficult in my opinion. @Lomic : you can do it!
Glad I could somehow be a help! That's cool

Try with mixing up the aids mate, maybe try just using ASM (although honestly I don't think it helps much in this one)

Try dialling the TC to 1 and having Counter Steer on weak.

The fast guys will pipe in but my take is that this one is all on the braking and the cleanest and fast exit. Following the ghosts I get ahead of the top 30 ghost in to T1 but he consistently gets a better exit so I'm braking too late and too hard. Coast the apex exits.
Thank you very much! This is what makes me come back and go for more.

It has been said before and will repeat it: this is an awesome community! Full of fun and support and there for you if the world as a whole seems to be on a joker lap...

Special thanks to @Famine, other admins and the people who make GTPlanet happen! Wherever I go on this planet I meet nice people, full of passion and respect. Great job!

A happy and healthy year 2025 to new and old friends, the Titans and all other partners in crime! 😘 Peace!

Morning folks!

Hotlapping morning it is...

Got a bit more consistent down to the lower 4's with a lot more 3's this morning...

But like @Vule mentioned ( great time btw again mate) it only takes 1 milisecond to have a slightly oversteer exit and that .2 or .3 is gone.... it's so delicate, and it just seems the top guys just don't have that problem.... exit of the last hairpin on to the backstraight is just ridiculous until now what ever I do they always pull away....

Braking I have fairly under control by now here, but exits are still a lotery

But....I found some little time again.... but again.... far from OPT 😡🤣

Stole some back within top 100 though

Now I'm going to celebrate my not getting into the .2's by going to Dutch biggest indoor fishing shop to emo buy huge pike lures......

See ya 🤣

Did another stint of 10 laps yesterday in the NSX and improved by nearly 1/10. Despite building a little more consistency, reaching peak pace takes a few laps and optimum ist still not sub 1:03. Feeling I've hit a wall somewhat and don't really know where I'm losing time.

How can such a little track be soo complex? I did 260KM on Tsukuba last night and I only beat my personal best time ONCE with an invalid lap. It seems as though my lap the other night was a fluke.
Been running this track for years and there's still always time to find in any given corner. The track being so wide with the transitions between sections relatively tight gives room for so many different lines where the flow and momentum dictates your pace. Taking breaks and coming back with fresh focus helps me improve lap times, where repeating many laps sometimes leads to building bad habits or getting stuck trying to repeat that one magic lap. I hope you find your click moment. Happy lapping :)

TT-BC-RBX-10laps-4.jpg

New 10 laps stint, improving slowly with a slightly better lap time (-0.01s...), better optimal (not in gold though), better medium, not sure why but my lap times began to climb after lap 7, while I was in a good serie of 47s

Not sure I'll improve enough to reach gold this time.

45 laps so far.

You know what, I think I may be able to nail this Red Bull Challenge with at least a silver medal, I can feel it in my mind. I need to think positively and envision that silver medal in my hand and all the hard work I put in it. Ok, I'm gonna keep grinding it. I already made good progress last night, so I have a good feeling about this. The key is to study the right replays and paying attention to every bit of detail in the lap. Just like I did with Dolph's Friday lap of 1'45.343.

@Ed_Night I'm very curious what you think is the part that makes staying in the top 100 here that difficult, is it the amount of necessary trailbraking?, which was a lot easier prior the latest updates?? (Imo) Is this one harder on pad due to that?
To me trailbraking seems to work better with the new physiks, on the other hand managing the grip of the front wheels seems harder. So it's probably harder to get right, but more effectiv if you nail it.
I found that going down with the controller sensitivity helped to manage the grip of the front tires.

I think this time more players try to push it to the limit than normaly in road car TTs.
Lots of players are comfortable with the track and there is not much to find out about different lines or what to do with the car.
We also see this in race car TTs, it's much harder to get a Top100, because people know how to drive it.

Sorry @Lomic - the last time I’d touched this car was for the Spa TT in the rain where we ran inters. Guess I’d just put it back in the garage wet and not looked back. I thought something was broken with my new wheel or pedals and couldn’t work out why I wasn’t able to get anywhere near the ghost - I’m not fast by any means, but I’m not that slow either

Nice one! It's so easy to lose a few hundredths and that makes all the difference. I tried again and couldn't beat my 1:03.547 controller AT lap with a controller. I'll have to use the wheel to improve I think. I'm still barely gold last I checked. Not safe!

Okay, said and done. 😁

I used the ghost of @Pesselles (the elderly among you might remember this friendly frenchman...) and passed him in my friend's board in the end! At least for the moment but I guess that he will strike back and I will also lose gold.

But for now it is time to party! 🥳

I asked him on PSN, and he used 0 at Goodwood, he will be joining this site also!
Thanks for finding out, good to know that these settings are definitely competitive. I used 0 on My First Gran Turismo as it was the default and felt decent on that. I used 10 on Goodwood up from 7, didn't know it was possible to go that high so tried it out of curiosity and felt better starting a lap with it. Always good to have another 👽 joining the :gtplanet: 🎉, gives us mere mortals a great point of reference of how fast you can aim for on a standard controller.

P.S. I noticed on your YouTube, you have DKC as your avatar. That's my favourite game. 👍

The holidays have also messed with my time. I spend most of it trying to get better in VR. I managed to better my barely gold at Tsukuba with VR so that's something. 😂

I was able to wear the headset for an hour yesterday and not feel any effects so maybe now I can concentrate on actually getting my pace back. Just like a wheel, there seems to be a learning curve for me, but it sure is fun.

Happy new year and thank you all for making this place what it is! 🍻🍻
