Man its a slippery beast to keep in a straight line
I think I'll quote myself.
The car and tire combo feel surprisingly good and capable. I'm just too timid when I don't feel in complete control, and the NSX is too easy to overdrive. When I did my 8:10 lap I was going to try one more, but the NSX nosed off the road at the very first turn and I took that as a sign I'd done well enough.
For those of us who just don't quite have "the alien touch," these mid-engined non-racing non-tuned beasts are a serious challenge.

Managed to bag a ps5, may knock a few seconds off with a new controller, rather than my rickety old ps4 one👍
Looking forward to the answer! I wonder what the difference is as well. GL and congrats on your new purchase! I'll have to get one sooner or later...

2 seconds on 1st attempt, not much of a difference. Does feel alot more responsive though, takes a little getting used too with the haptic feedback thing

Finally had free time to do a few more attempts at this. The very first lap I was able to improve by 1 tenth of a second and in the 2nd I was in the 7:48s, a few more retries later and I did a 7:47.2 which I still knew it could be improved upon given how lenient I was on the high speed sections... But after this was where the grief started... I lost count of the times I crashed when I was beating my ghost quite comfortably into the last sectors, probably 4 or 5 near finished laps where I was beating that time and just crashed or braked too late and went off track. Gave up after that... But this is what the challenge is about, this is Nurburgring. Did 193,9 km on this session.

Took a pic of my sector times so any of you (and myself) can use for reference.

Same settings as I used last time but this time with controller Sensivity at +10.
Also I had 294 CV isntead of 295 (because of the oil, but this likely didn't make a difference, even the PP remained the same).

I know it's all about the awesome NSX, but just yesterday I've thrown THIS beauty around the Ring:

And it was bloody amazing! Could this be the next car to hot lap for ya'll? Would be really interesting to see what the aliens can do with it. AND also especially with the Carrera GT. That thing is MENTAL. A lap by the aliens in that thing would be GODLY.

Either that or the 917k.

That thing is WILD even at Sarthe, reminds me of the NSX only more out of control and scarier.

This thread sure has hibernated for a bit, as have I.

Since my last improvement, I haven't tried. Just haven't had the interest to do so...

I'll try to this week though.
Yeah me too.

Took some time today to grind out a better lap time and, man, what a challenge... but I finally got into the consistent 7:40s, running a best of 7:48.846. This was hard fought, even though there are many places where I'm leaving time on the table with bad corner entries, oversteer and little mistakes. Still, was super happy with this one. Had a ton of fun doing it. Also changed up the look of my NSX, because I was getting bored of the championship white on white.

Really something to be said for the fundamentals of what GT7 is when a simple challenge like this, with no credits or trophies at stake, is so challenging and so much fun.

i really would like to know how 7:40 is done with this car. I'm not sure it is possible with traction 0 and all assists off, and tires and everything unmodified.

Alot of it comes down to track knowledge and knowing what type of driving style actually fits with the car.

Best comparison I can make it F1, Hamilton/Riccardo don't have the driving style it takes to push their currents cars to be competitive. When you look at their counterparts (Russel/Lando) the pair both drive inna way that gets them around the track considerably faster because of how're they're rotating the cars using different techniques.

TLDR: Different styles of driving have different results, and some styles are faster than others because of car dynamics. Track knowledge is the other 50%

I got 7:42:xxx with my own line and driving talent. had to copy the faster drivers driving line and style to get to 7:40:xxx. I wanted to try to break the 7:40 but couldn't find the will to do it as time attack is not really my cup of tea.
