Time trials and license times

The gold times and sometimes even the bronze finish times are totally unreasonable. Ive become very good at the game and gotten gold on most trials and licenses but Ive gotta say some of the times are totally unreachable unless you play for an hour on the same track and know every knook and cranny of every turn. It almost seems like they want you to cheat with half of your car off the track at some points (if it's a real race you would be disqualified or lose seconds off of your lap time) If I wasn't as advanced at racing as I am I would say its impossible to reach gold on some tracks. This needs to be addressed as lots of new players and even skilled players like me have issues with reaching gold status on many tracks. I hate to say but it seems like they use bots to reach these times and they're honestly very very difficult even for me. I find myself wanting to quit and play a different game many times. Only reason I come back is for the free cars and tickets at the end of these trials. Idk if it's just me but many of my friends who play seem to think the same. Please adjust some of these times or add a difficulty level. It's very stressful reaching .5 or even a second off of the gold times after so many plays. Otherwise I think there should be a threshold such as if you're a second off from gold you should still get the gold times. Or leave a setting for more skilled players to still try and beat these times. Hopefully it gets changed because these times are so unreasonably attainable.

They're supposed to be difficult to gold - but they're not that difficult. The best players in the world are going 3-5% faster than the gold times. Even crap people like me can get them.

They do not.

Why would you set a standard to achieve and then just... ignore it?

What would happen to people who are the same threshold off your arbitrary second-from-gold time? Why shouldn't they get gold as well under this standard?

Please adjust some of these times or add a difficulty level.
There is a difficulty level - it's literally what the bronze/silver/gold times are about. Gold is more difficult than silver, which is more difficult than bronze. But you only need bronze to pass.

And we can't adjust anything. We're an independent site and not involved in the development of Gran Turismo or any other game.

If you post which ones specifically you are struggling with, and post videos of your lap, we can help you get to the gold times.

It's better to focus on improving yourself, rather than making the goal easier (which isn't going to happen).

Honestly, if you can't follow the ghost 5/10/100 times and can't get silver or bronze.

I'm not sure what you can do to help. I mean if you aren't getting bronze after a few goes are you actually trying???

It's wasted effort. They either have to start the journey and start to learn and improve on their own own, but my guess they are playing Warzone 2.0 right now.

I don't subscribe to that. Anyone who wants help and is willing to take advice can be helped, and that's true at any level.

They may be getting some fundamentals completely wrong but not realise it and sometimes it takes someone else to point these things out.
Also worth noting that some people don't benefit from chasing a ghost as they find it off putting (to some extent that applies to me).

Anyone who wants to be helped cam be helped, but they do need to want that.

May be they are not aware of what they're doing wrong. Might worth a shot. An outside look helps sometimes.
But they have become good at the game? In their own words.

No problems helping people even first time players, more so them.

This is what track limits are for and for bronze you don't even mostly need to push them at all.

Fair, if they take advice but ill be honest my cynicism is high especially with the influx of Xmas peeps who are "good at the game" but have issues with track limits etc.

I was a bit direct but honestly I don't really think this person is on the path to self improve with a few braking tips and looking at lines from us.

Well it is their opinion, and they may be wrong without realizing it 😅

When they say "unless you play for an hour on the same track" well... I'd say it takes me sometimes more than an hour to gold 1 sector (and sometimes it's not enough), so they might underestimate the time it can take (and overestimate their level).

The difference is most of us came here a bit humble and wanting to improve and learn, I thought I was good 2 years ago and reading a couple of posts showed me I had a lot to learn. And learn I did. Now do I have the inclination to be alien...Hell no I see what those guys eat! 🤣

I completely get the cynicism. There are plenty of "single posters" who create an account only to declare the game is broken because they can't do it. There are some that want to improve though and I always like to try and help as I got loads of help when I first started out.
We'll have to wait and see which one the OP is 🙂

Has anyone noticed that @tyflyguy25 has NOT replied a damn thing to his original post? I agree is a skill issue and I do believed he trolled us all....

  • Makes GTP account
  • Rants about the difficulty of gold and even bronze times
  • Does not specify which tests they are struggling with
  • Leaves
