Had a conversation with
@DcrRaikkonen this morning, and it went over really well. In the end there's no real excuse for what occurred last night and it's my responsibility as a driver to never put myself where I did. To help the Gran Turismo audio issues I had my microphone off and had it in my computer instead, so other than typing I had no real way to communicate. To say some of the things I wanted to say would result in the loss of positions as it's not particularly important to the race, so I refrained from doing so and just went with it.
My bedroom where my system is located was significantly warmer than the rest of the house, and ventilation is poor. I had no water so about halfway through the race I had developed a headache, sweat, and trembling. My focus was not there and my cognitive thinking was compromised. A part of me wonders if I should have even been on track but the racer in me easily overcame that thought.
The conditions I was under, how I was physically feeling, and the frustrations from being wiped out multiple times in the past week in various series, and 3 occasions yesterday evening from my perspective, lead to the poor decision to ventilate my pent up discontent. As I have already explained to
@DcrRaikkonen, it was only my intention to ruffle him and push him down the track a little, which still isn't smart by any means. My car had already been damaged and my focus behind the wheel was poor, so I inadvertently did a little more than originally intended. Fortunately the 99 car didn't lose anything as a direct result of my actions.
After the discussion I had with
@DcrRaikkonen I have the strong impression that there is no hard feelings from either of us, we were both just racing hard and doing the best we possibly could. I can only apologize for my behavior and the manner of which I demonstrated my displeasure. As for the sanctions I've faced, I still have yet to have a conversation with the series director but I hope to have one soon.
