FTR's New Number Two Driver, Tom Brooks took some time out to talk to Louise Goodman.​


Louise Goodman: So Tom, it's been a while.

Tom Brooks: Indeed it has Louise, it's great to finally catch up.

LG: So you've jumped ship to FTR from Vox Racing, why is that?

TB: Well, I heard that Furinkazen was looking for a team-mate, after RacerPaul left the squad. I've been involved with FTR before in the BST V8 Challenge, we've always got along well and there's some strong banter involved when are racing. It was definitely a tricky decision to leave Vox Racing, I really think that Tom and I could have got some strong results for the season, but I know Furi and I'm aware of his capabilities and he's aware of mine. I think we'll have a great season together, and if it doesn't work out then we'll know for the future not to cross paths again.

LG: How's the Volvo now you've got some extensive testing under your belt?

TB: The Volvo is great, although I'm more of a fan of RWD cars it's definitely got some potential.

LG: What are your aims for the season?

TB: Well, after a few "practice" races I'm definitely sure that being mid-grid is my aim for the season. I'm always going to be known as the Number Two Driver at FTR so I'm sure I can play a vital role in helping Furinkazen suceed.

LG: Rumor has it that you've got some new upgrades to your car for the season, care to elaborate?

TB: Yes I do. I've finally managed to get my G27 Wheel fixed, meaning that I can finally push my talent to the limit. The DFGT is a great wheel but the G27 is certainly more professional and I hope can bring me better results for the season.

LG: Well thanks for catching up with us Tom, it's been a pleasure as always.

Penguin: Yo, bitch, make me a sandwich.

LG: Well that's quite rude of you. I was just going to ask, what are your views for Season 4?

Penguin: I'm already f:censored:ked up enough after that stupid bug that PD never wants to fix, so please don't comment on my manners. Ahem, right now I'm going to win the championship, and if I don't, I start accusing the winning car of being too fast against the others so that it'll get removed from the lineup for good.

LG: You're a steward too, how's it looking there?

Penguin: It's private.

LG: Right... well, um, how is your teammate?

Penguin: Battling with guys like Furi. That's a damned good thing, 'cause now it looks like our team is the strongest. Apart from VenoMM probably, but I have a few plans for them. *quietly takes a look at pistol in back pocket*

LG: Okay, well, I guess there's nothing more to ask, except what is your real name?

Penguin: I'll tell once I get a sandwich.

I may need to go back to a privateer entering some races because with the series being pushed back my schedule has gotten really busy.

I think it was more a case of furi getting twitchy about my connection and looking around for alternatives

He jumped the gun, imo :D
 
In TOCA, the team changes are truly exciting... Especially now that the amount of teams has doubled since last time.

Even the pre-season had its moments... Vox Racing was completely disbanded when the Tom's went to different routes... the V8 guy headed for Furi and the oval guy for me... I seem to really attract oval specialists to my teams in TOCA. :sly::sly:
