These NGTC spec TOCA cars are much larger and heavier than the old TOCA cars, with Racing mediums they handle much better though.

It just feels like crap to me.

Also, I am losing 3/10ths of a second in the 2nd sector (Which, let me remind you is one flat out corner and a straight) in the Mazda to the Volvo.

Don't get me wrong, I love the evenness of the cars, but they just don't suit my driving.

Does it feel like the rear end is slipping away from you? I had that in S3, that cost me about 0.3 seconds in that sector...

No, it feels like the front end is slipping away. I would actually love to feel a bit of rear end movement in these things, but I don't.

Shall we put the Beemer back in ;)

Bit of toe and camber tuning will get you more front end bite.

I'm in for the Volvo. Will drive independent since I haven't sorted out a team mate 👍

I'll team up with you in the Volvo, Tom. 👍

More in-depth analysis of every car after running them for the full 13 laps on Cape Ring Inside:

Mazda:
My 99% sure choice for this season, the Mazda was a pleasant surprise when I got orientated with it. It has good acceleration off the line but less speed on longer straights, but it should be able to make up ground on the starts. Its cornering is better than what you would expect from the heaviest car of the grid. That's what makes it such a good championship contender.
Best time: 53.145

Ford:
Just as I'm leaving it behind, it turns out to be massively fast. I mean it, the Ford is clearly the most consistent of these machines, constantly racking up low 53's and generally being nice to drive. It starts poorly though, being the slowest car off the line thanks to tremendous wheelspin, but it has more torque than the Mazda or Honda, and corners well despite understeer especially at the last corners.
Best time: 52.977

Honda:
Unfortunately I have to say that I never got quite into the pace with the Honda. Like the Ford, it had wheelspin at the start, but got off much quicker. Despite it feeling a swift car when accelerating out of corners, its cornering doesn't seem as good as the two cars above, and something causes it to lose .4 seconds to the Ford on Sector 2 alone on almost every lap. It may be the lack of torque...
Best time: 53.328

Volvo:
The team championship winning car from last season got into the hands of the penguin. It might be the best car of the series thanks to its torque. It was moderate like the Civic off the line, but when getting to real speeds, it's unstoppable on the straights. The only thing holding it back is the cornering, which isn't as sharp as with the others, but it was still the 2nd fastest car over a single lap in the end, and might be a challenging contender for the championship.
Best time: 53.080

Just thought I would pull out the BMW for old times sake, and the cornering speed is very similar to the S4 cars (It's a bit slower) but it's not as fast in straight lines. Just set a 54.7 in it.

But the noise it makes... <3

Would you say all 4 can win races?

Depends. I think a good driver can make every one of them do 52's on Cape Ring (with the proper setup) so it's completely open at the moment.

I am traditionally a slow driver over a lap so I am satisfied with 53.3 with my Nurburgring set up...

You giving up with the V8's Tom don't see you around much now

I'm still here mate, just coursework is getting in the way at the moment. :ouch: Should hopefully be back for Tsukuba, however I cannot guarantee anything right now. Will gladly make Season 3's artwork however. 👍

If you want loose at the rear use the Civic ive driven it for personal use long enough to know it is one of the best Fwd Chassis around the way it casualy slides round bends without losing momentum is absolutely brilliant :D.

Im constantly using it to own 4wds and Rwds at the Nords :P.

I did a 53.960 in the Volvo. is that an average time?

Not bad start. Usually people end up gaining 0.5 to 0.9 seconds as they learn the car and tune it. I am doing 53.3, Carb is doing 52.9.

I would like to announce that I have teamed up with TomMcD for TOCA Season 4 driving the Volvo C30's. We will be racing under the name VOX Racing. We are sponsored by VOX's Guitar Amplifiers for the Season. Team Launch Photo's and a logo will be unveiled this evening. 👍
