TOCA Makes Announce Deals, Ford to leave end of Season.

Ford are announcing the withdrawal of supplying parts to the TOCA Focus and as a result the make will disappear from TOCA end of this season after a two season stint which to date has had 44 races, 9 podiums and a 3rd place in the championship for Carbonox in season 3 which also marked a narrow 2nd place loss to Team RPM (then MRT) in the teams standings.

Also Mazda appear to be looking to extend there programme and are hoping to announce at Laguna Seca plans, whilst Nissan are reportedly committed to the next 3 seasons of TOCA.

TOCA Boss Furinkazen also gave some very interesting news and hints when he said during an interview with Autosport

"...also we have been in negotiations with another marque with a rich touring car pedigree, and on our mid season break, I will be at Motegi at the 18th of august, to formally sign the deal with Honda and confirm the tracks slot. The whole of TOCA will get to watch at 8pm a very exciting development, I hope to see you there...."

For those of you who didn;t quite get it...

... means that Mazda will probably be back, Honda will be, and another make in next season, Nissan also in for next 3 seasons, with news in a lobby on the 18th August :)

lets think. Euro/world touring cars are Seat, BMW and chevvy. No lacetti means chevvy are out, Ibiza (seat) is a standard so won't be in, and we have already see the BMW destruction with the 135i. it could be the 120, even though it's standard. however. DTM for more touring cars which is Merc, BMW and audi, all of which are to fast to race a volvo C30. Old BTCC cars would be vauxhall with the Astra, which is only a standard. Alfa as fraiser said could well be in it. This only leaves Toyota as an unaccounted for brand with super GT. The 2 other big Japanese brands are represented (nissan, honda) so the only other company with 'pedigree' is toyota.

Conclusion. It's either
BMW- Standard 120 d/i
Alfa- (any apart from 8C)
Toyota - GT86

That is the car's i have decided it can be. please tell me i'm nearly right :)

Sorry, i forgot about Peugeot, could the Ex-BTCC runners be making a return with the 207/307?

Partially, but the news on the 18th might not be it? But we have a make in next season potentially.

Monza test results:

Honda 1:59.5 (Top speed 151mph)
Volvo 1:59.6 (Top speed 149mph)
Mazda 1:59.8 (Top speed 150mph)
Ford 2:00.4 (Top speed 149/150mph)
Nissan 2:00.6 (Top speed 152mph)

Ford is alot slower here than it has been at Tsukuba or Suzuka. (Short tracks mind you) Also Nissan is a little closer given the length of the lap, helped by it's top speed.

It's stable on aceleration which punches it out the bends nicely but the Mazda allways had lacked top end speed.

Edit: To make sure no one misses it since this thread moves so fast .

Standard cars look low in priority.

furi hasn't confirmed the volvo for next season yet

i reckon an audi tt to enter or something that's not a FWD drive car to add variety

Had a quick practice around Monza, did a 1.59.375, trimmed one of the kerbs in the 2nd chicane a little too much but its TOCA so it was just about legal for touring car standards

Nice Spurgy did do a 1:59.4 in the Volvo but I felt that lap was dirty 👍.

JB loves Monza for cutting :sly:. Also the girls love it dirty 👍.

TBH I only picked the Ford because Furi started out in it...I thought he was picking it because of its advantages...:ouch:
